About 20 or so of my friends went to the game, and had a lot of nice things to say about the time they had in Arizona over the past 4 or 5 days.
We’ll be pulling for the Sun Devils from here on out.

I’m not arguing with the scenario, or the weirdness. (Although it’s about a month too early to start getting our knickers in a twist).
What I *am *disputing is giving any weight to the fact of being a defending national champion. What any team did last year counts for exactly doodly-squat, and rightly so. (Except that it probably gives many teams an unfairly high pre-season ranking)
I’m smelling Roses in Spartanland. Not the most impressive win over ND but I’ll take any win over ND. I’ve spent too many years watch the gold-domers snatch victory from the jaws of defeat vs. MSU. Now the schedule is looking very winnable from here out- an easy road trip to Indiana, home to Iowa, and a trip to Northwestern make a 6-1 start a real possibility. Then home to Ohio State and off to Ann Arbor, but these games are not the backbreakers they once would have been. OSU barely beat Ohio and had their hands full with Troy for a while. Winning those two and then beating Wisconsin at home would complete a rare trifecta, then Purdue at home the next week to set up the season ender at Penn State. This could be the year of my dreams, MSU and PSU playing on ABC for the Rose Bowl while UM-OSU get the Pam Ward treatment on ESPN2.
While I’d even enjoy that, Bob, don’t get ahead of yourself. One week at a time.
Everybody should get a chance to check out the Trojans Thursday night. Wish we had a tougher opponant, but they can play hard now and then.
Personally, I want some payback on these boys…
Be careful what you wish for. USC down 14-0 in the 2nd quarter. USC needed to take the crowd out early.
What’s with blowing the whistle because his helmet came off?
PAC-10 refs are absolutely horrible…
Yeah he got jobbed on that one. He wasn’t down, and obviously got facemasked, but somehow it works out for USC.
And the hand of fate intervenes to give them the touch on a lucky bounce anyway :)
This is insane. I can’t believe Rogers got that. GO Beavs!
Hmm, in the end it worked out for Oregon State. Wow, I don’t believe this game. Even if USC comes back to win, I’m thinking USC is out of the BCS championship. The Pac 10 is down this year and USC has no ranked opponents on their schedule.
doesn’t matter now. TD Oregon St! 21-0 going into the half
Jeez, how many times is USC going to blow their cake walk to the national championship?
Any given Thursday.
The top teams are always heavily overrated, because it makes it more exciting to pretend they are on another level than the rest of college football.
Yeah. Before this game I heard grumblings about how even if USC went undefeated that if a few other teams went undefeated (Missouri or Oklahoma or Wisconsin or an SEC team, for example) you couldn’t justify putting them in the national championship because the PAC-10 was so weak with no ranked teams. But after this, regardless of the outcome, this is going to make the talk that much louder.
Paging gatopescado…
If this was the SEC, everyone would be talking about how strong the conference is, top to bottom.
Hey - no taking backhanded shots at the SUPER-EST EVER CONFERENCE.

Woah, them’s fightin’ words around here!
holy shit!! what an interception return! wooo!
Two minutes till that sweet sweet schadenfreude is official.
