Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, caffeinated, and purtified, so no YAWN. ‘Tis 51 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 78 for the day and sunny. Ye Olde Hometowne has a predicted high of 74 for the day and sunny. A nice day to travel and visit. OYKW is finishin’ up gettin’ purtified (or putrified for the clowns amongst us :D). When he’s ready we’re headin’ out. We’ll stop at Hardee’s in large and in charge Dawson, Jawja for a bizkit. We shall have a nice but longish day of it today.
luci yay for new digs! As to the remodelin’, all I can say is, better thee than me.
I hear rumblin’s from the bedroom to indicate OYKW is about ready so we shall be outta here shortly.
Up & about; clothes are dryering. Waiting for the car place to open.
This is the first weekend in four that I haven’t been out of the house no later than 6:30 (one weekend was 3am departure, last weekend was 5:45 {for what turned out to be no reason} & 5am. There were also two days of alarms set for 4:15 this week; I almost forgot what it means to not have an alarm set.
You remember the movie “Alive” about the rugby team that crashed in the mountains, where the survivors had to eat each other? They’re making a sequel; tentative working title is:Second Helpings
Up-ish, working on the first Mt. Dew of the day, Allie and I took our mutual litterbox stop (I have never before had a cat who thought that was a social event!). Usually I work closing shift on Saturday, but swapped with co-lead (she really needed to switch today, for whatever reason). Not sure I’m awake enough for blurfage yet.
I think today may be a grocery day although I’d like to put it off until Moonday. Tomorrow is travel to the armpit day.
Today I need to sit down with my list, log into Amazon and get my Christmas shopping done.
According to my favorite weather site, it’s 60°, but I’m sweating like crazy!! I’ve been washing windows, taking advantage of what is probably the last mild day till spring. **FCD **washed all the screens (except for the one on the patio door - we forgot that till after he’d put all his stuff away.) I’ve done the bow window in the living room (4 tall panes) the family room window, the small window in the stairwell, the kitchen window, and the patio doors in the dining room. I’ve got 2 tall, 3 medium, and 1 small windows to go - bedrooms and the master bath. The other bathroom has no exterior wall, but it has a sun tube to light it up, so there’s that.
I’ve been putting off this chore for months, and today I decided it was time. With luck, I can finish in an hour. We shall see…
Congrats on the new digs, luci. It’s a lot of work to make a place your own, bit fun too.
Hanging out at home today. The dishes are done and the floors mopped. Sometime today or tomorrow I need to do laundry. I will be finishing Dad’s Xmas gift today, then starting to make the last of this year’s holiday cards.
The windows are clean and I’m pooped! I’m having some tin roof sundae before putting the plants back in the bow window. The wandering jews need to be trimmed back and the philodendron has some dead leaved to be removed. But I need a break before attacking that chore.
I’m thankful we don’t have any more windows than we do…
My Christmas shopping is done, too. We do a $10 goofy exchange and I got our contributions from Think Geek. Then **FCD **informed me that he wants to get something for his brother’s step-grandchildren (9 and 11.) Since they live in Texas, I’m thinking we should give them something local. We shall see…
Roux, roux, roux your jambalaya, carefully on the stove.
I am also simultaneously doing laundry & other cleaning in between pot stirrings. Coupled with my good looks, wit, (& humility) I make a heckuva catch.
I read that “'m” as “'ve”; which is too much TMI for even our Jawjan ursine.
I love African violets, altho I don’t have any at the moment. I think I need to get me a couple.
The house is all closed up, the pellet stove is burning away, and I’ve had leftover pizza for supper. I’ve been sewing together afghan squares, and once I’m done, I’ll have to crochet around the outside. Good times here.
I think I wore mismatched earrings to work today. Both were round pseudo-diamond studs, of which I own several pairs. I apparently grabbed ones that were close enough in size to trick me, but were not in fact mates. Oh well.
Jambalaya is nummyerific!
(Except Dracula might not be a big fan because of the garlic.)
Unfortunately, I have to go out tonight because otherwise I’d just sit here eating it & washing it down with cold beers. Right now it’s both temperature & spicy hot, in fact every time I stir the pot I get a facefull of steam. I wish I had more time to let it cool but I gotta go out in a few mins & I don’t really want to, either go out at all or go to where I’m going.
I was cooking to a good classical music CD - don’t worry doggio, it was the soundtrack to Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade.
I almost put in my Matt Schoenfeld CD - has anyone heard from our lost Cap’n Kirk?
Howdy Y’all! Home from our sojourn to Ye Olde Home Towne. A good time was had by all. Good food. Good company. Lots of carryin’s on. OYKW did a good job keepin’ up. I think our sneak down to sis’s place for a couple beerverages helped. Anywho, I drove this mornin’ and he drove back this evenin’. We’s tahrd. He’s piled up on the bed with the teevee on and I will join him in the near future. I foresee an early crash time for the both of us.
flytrap I need to comment on an earlier post of yours. I do indeed let OYKW in the kitchen and I do indeed allow him to man the grill. However, the smoker is sacred and shall only be touched by me.
spidey GMTA! Ima make jambalaya next Sattidy for some folks comin’ for dindin. I lurves me some jambalaya!
