Let the packing begin (later than I wanted :()
Ka-blurf.
One more day of work, then a nice long weekend.
I worked. I dealt with crazy people. Almost sideswiped by a semi. Beer now.
swampy, I like stuffing. And dressing. And food in general.
Blurf. Is it the weekend yet?
Chicken curry last night was yummy, and there was enough for lunchtime leftovers for today so that will be something to look forward to. Tonight I should be making chilli but I forgot to get any mince out of the freezer so I’ll have to go home via the horror of our local Asdastan where no words of spoken have ever been heard.
Apparently someone at a friend’s irkplace brought cake into the office on Monday “because it’s Thanksgiving tomorrow”. Something tells me that person did not have the plot in the first place and thus did not manage to lose it. We don’t celebrate your Turkey Day over here, and most of us are sufficiently aware of dates to know it is on Thursday rather than Tuesday. Still, free cake is free cake, right?
Pub tonight for me, all I have to do is get the friends sorted out and work out which pub we want to patronise tonight. I favour the Dog and Doublet, but the Lych Gate or the Posada are both in with a chance.
I don’t want to even think about XMas!
I hope your Thanksgiving is a blast!
One nice thing about working around a holiday - traffic is super-light! I had to stop for gas on the way in, and I still got here early. Firday might be a pain, tho, because of Black Firday idiot along the last few miles to the base. There’s a WalMart and Target between me and the gate. ugh.
I’m hoping today goes fast. We shall see.
Happy Wednesday!!

Happy Wednesday!
The furnace gets replaced today, so of course it is behaving itself and not making noise likes it’s getting ready to take off into space. Probably trying to make me think it still has some life in it so I won’t send it to rusty graveyard. Nopie, nopie, its remaining life is being measured in hours.
Don’t know what I’ll be doing today. I’m sure it will be too noisy to irk. I want to stuck around in case somebody needs me for something. I’ll do some laundry once I’m sure they will be going in and out the basement door. I don’t want the washer in the way in case they have to carry stuff through the kitchen.
So Spidey knows how to deal with live wires? Cool.
Guess I should get a shower and dressed, won’t do to answer the door like this.
Like what - dirty and nekkid??
OK, I’m going to start working now. Don’t nobody distract me!!!
Wouldn’t dream of distracting you from irk!
There was a time when answering the door nekkid might have gotten me a discount. Now it’s likely to send them screaming in terror, or make them blind.
I’m fairly sweaty, we’ve been keeping the temp up too high, otherwise the furnace doesn’t run at all and it gets cold in here.
I was going to mop the kitchen floor, but may as well wait until after they are done. I hear this can take up to 10 hours. I hope not.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 48 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 70 and sunny. Sounds like a pleasant day weather wise. Today’s big plans include the makin’ of dressin’ for tomorrow. I shall also cook the collard greens as I like to cook 'em the day before and slowly heat ‘em up before they get et. I shall also deliver the dressin’ and pies to my friend, take care of a few errands, and maybe go by the liberry. That should pretty much fill up the day and keep me outta trouble.
Sari here’s hopin’ the furnace folks are in and out in a reasonable time today.
OK, I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. I suppose I should purtify at some point as well.
Happy Hump Day Y’all!
Up, caffeinated, working closing shift tonight. It’s a balmy 31 degrees outside.
Up and fed, getting ready for my twice-yearly trek to my Brother’s home about 420 miles away. It’s all expressway so I’m just waiting until rush hour clears up in Nashville (about a 2-hr drive) before starting. Have the important stuff (clothes, underwear, password for SDMB) ready to go.
very rough night. back to sleep for me.
I’m bored, entertain me.
The bosses, being American, are having a long weekend. That means this week I’m not even having the one meeting we were having every week. Well, they used to be two, but the other one was with a guy who’s been reassigned someplace else so it was already cancelled.
With all the people who don’t even have time to breathe at work, and all the times I’ve had to be running up and down and sideways, why can’t we, dunnow, share the work around or something?
Anyway, I hope y’all who celebrate it have a good Turkey Weekend.
You wanna talk about a rough night?? I kept dreaming about DONALD TRUMP!!!
Turned over the drawing from hell to the engineer, and I’m waiting for him to fix some weirdness on the next drawing I’m supposed to do. Gonna go talk to the boss about getting something else to do. I knew you’d all want to know.
The furnace guys got here early, before 7:30. They seem nice enough and estimate being done around 3:30. So eight hours. We’ll see.
They thoughtfully brought some space heaters for us to use.
The dog won’t stop barking, he might be deaf, but he can hear the racket they are making downstairs. He can’t, however, hear me telling him to shut up.
This is the most excitement he’s had in a long time.
So I am reading about GM crops and Africa. Sah-son’s paper is about GM crops and it’s interesting.
Here’s the pic he chose for his art paper http://s1277.photobucket.com/user/folwawup/media/20151124_114115_zpsrrex9o35.jpg.html?sort=3&o=8
It’s by a Baltimore artist name Grace Turnbull, not that he knew that when he picked it. He just picked what he liked. I looked her up because - well because. I think I’m getting more out of his classes than he is.
She was an interesting woman.

The drive to the museum was interesting, through a section of really nice houses. I wish I could afford to live on those streets. I saw the green and purple house again, which I know those colors sound hideous together, but the house is really pretty. One day I’ll get out and take pics of it, and the one that is baby blue and pink.
Anyway, as we were driving through Sah-son was commenting on the different styles so I told him he needs to take a class in architecture because that is what I want to learn next.
I just mis-read the words “curd tart recipe” as “turd fart recipe.” Damn me and my dirty mind.
Drinking the last of the coffee right now. Maybe that’s it - I need the rest of the coffee.
Band rehearsal tonight, aka alto clarinet adventures.
Forget a doctor — call an exorcist!!!
Getting my second best Santa suit ready for going to work tomorrow. I decided I’m sure about it; Santa must travel the far Amazon to help his little elves out. And since I have to work anyway, I may as well have some fun with it.
Taking consolation for being last on two pages.
damn if this dog doesn’t stop barking !!!
Driving me flippin’ nuts
They aren’t even making noise right now, and the dog’s voice is starting to squeak a little from barking too much.
