I don’t know but there was a local metal band by the last part of that name around here. Did some pretty cool stuff.
Went to have a beer with a work buddy for his last day. He's going to a cool job and good people so I'm glad for him. But like many who survive in Da Jungle, there is a certain sense of loss too.worked a double shift, and gotta do it again tomorrow. Is it October yet?
No, that’s just my usual playoff hockey ritual.
This.
I am not a groundhog but I did see my shadow this morning.
I do believe that means it’s six more hours until it’s 5 o’clock (somewhere else)
That’s kinda like
Jeet?
No, Jew?
around here
Did you eat?
No, did you?
Not seeing a typo. Yes, I do have new glasses on order. Are you new around these parts?
Ha, see I broke my own rule about posting with not having read every single post. Shan’t happen again.
Y’all all are a very funny bunch.
So my day was earlier than normal sans Lucky Louie due to the VIP who did not show. Well I don’t GAFF LL will be there come hell or high water. In two weeks he will have to miss 3-4 days due to the accreditation visit.
Supper was a big ole organic Sweet Tater, speckled butter beans and roast poke tenderloin plus carrot cake for dessert. I had beer. Diet beer though. I foresee a late irk arrival and a headachey day on the morrow. Sucks being them. I need a vacay.
All in favor of vacay for Butters say AYE – AYE!!!
Off to chase 'Beamette to bed. Iff’n I don’t she’ll stay up all night long.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work.
Exciting start to the day - a deer ran across the road in front of me. Luckily for both of us, she was far enough ahead that I didn’t hit her, because I had momentary brain freeze and didn’t slam on the brakes. OOPS! I’ve already damaged 2 vehicles thanks to deer. I don’t need a 3rd… Especially since we want this one to last a few more years.
Office mate had a sleep study done yesterday, so he’s not planning to be here today. Not that it matters a lot - apart from a little early morning chitchat, we hardly talk. Work work work work work…
Anybody wanna live in my house in Oct while my sweetie and I go on a cruise? All you have to do is bring in the mail and scoop cat poop once a day! Easy-peasy! I’ll even put clean sheets on the guest bed!!! Such a deal!!
On that note, much busy to be accomplished. Happy Tuesday!
Ah don’t like eatin’ at a restaurant, 'cause we gotta wear shoes.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 55 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 82 and N.O.S. for the day. I foresee openin’ da cave windows later this mornin’. Fresh air is nice! Today’s plan includes finishin’ up spiffin’ da cave, takin’ care of some errands and orderin’ some smoked salmon to take to a potluck Agape supper tomorrow. Oh and grilled chikin sallit for dindin. A trip to the liberry is also in store whilst out and about. That should be enough to keep me occupied and out of trouble for the day.
Spidey cool pics! I’ve only ridden in a hot air balloon twice but really like it both times.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, I think I shall finish up spiffin’ da cave (need to vacuum and mop), purtify and go do errand stuff.
ETA: Shoes?!?! Dang flytrap at what kind of high falutin’ places do you eat?
Happy Tuesday Y’all!
Blurf.
Just walked into town and back and my feets hurt. My old shoes are getting a worn bit on the inside, so are rubbing. I’ve bought new shoes, and they currently haven’t worn in yet, so also rub. I think I shall assume a position of woe for the rest of the afternoon.
Happy Toosday!
Supposed to be warm today, and I hope N,O,S, Yesterday turned out to be a bit cloudy.
Today’s agenda is to finish up everything I didn’t finish yesterday, like taxes. I spent a good hour yesterday looking for info on a form that I don’t file. I have no idea why taxact is asking me for something that doesn’t exist.
I also got interrupted by a text that pissed me off to the pits of hell and back. It’s what happens when you are nice to people who don’t deserve it. Instead of being grateful for what you have done for them, they get pissed that you won’t do more.
Spidey, only been in a hot air balloon once, but it was a memorable one (over the Masai Maru in Kenya). Have to add another trip to my bucket list.
FCM, only hit a deer once. Dead deer, $850 to fix car. Only time I was really scared was driving in New England with the “Moose Crossing” signs. Really did not want to hit one of them.
Was going to sleep in but remember I hadn’t put the clothing out for Purple Heart as I said I would, so up at 0630 and the bag of clothes is in position. The Air Conditioning folks are due this morning for summer servicing (we’re starting to get into the 80’s on a consistent basis) and I’m still awaiting the call that my new car has arrived.
Otherwise once again will do my best to ignore house-irk.
I’ve only been in a hot air balloon twice…this year.
I saw your post earlier, had I realized you were the last on pg1, I would have replied sooner.
I’m a big fan of New Skin. Applying it even before a blister as it takes a few miles to rub off until your skin starts to rub.
I haven’t hit a deer yet, nor a skunk
Raccoon, fox, cat, snake, rabbit, and many birds.
I came close once, close enough to see the fear in her eyes.
My presence here tells you just how excited I am to get back to doing taxes. I am seriously considering packing everything up and heading out to one of the local tax services. I am also seriously considering pushing Sah-son to get a degree in accounting.
At least the dog has finally settled down and isn’t wanting out a hundred times a day. He slept most of the night last night. His ear is bothering him again, poor baby.
The cat is being a pest again, but one good thing about him is he never tries to wake me up. As soon as he hears me up he is right here demanding treats, but at least he will let me sleep.
Sounds like someone local is having their crops dusted, only their is no one local who has that kind of crops and it’s very early. I don’t know what someone needs to be flying back and forth and forth and back at 6 am. Annoying, is what it is.
Boy child arrived at 5 am to tell us he couldn’t sleep. We sent him back to try. Sure enough at 6:15 he was sound asleep and didn’t want to get up.
Today there is absolutely nothing on the schedule. I’m looking forward to it.
Must off to chivvy children.
I went to the park, as I approached a bridge, there were four wimen & two dogs on the bridge, the huge, furry, Gossamer-like one sits down, blocking my path.
One of the girls says I need to ask it a riddle to pass.
I reply, “African or European swallow.”
She says, “No, it’s a Malamute.” :smack:
Pittsburgheese; confused the heck out of this ridgerunner at first. This one was so classic that a local band used it for an album name. Look at 1995
Kids! Damn this modern educational system and the rugrats its trained.
Ex-boss has been back in the building. Apparently he’s working for a contractor that’s doing business with our company.
I forgot to brush my teeth this morning. It’s all FCD’s fault. He got up earlier than usual and it broke my routine. Normally, I brush my teeth while he’s in the shower, then when he’s done, I shower. But today, I was still in bed when he got out of the shower, so I got up and went right in. I was on the way to work when I realized my mouth was icky, so I chewed some gum.
It didn’t much help - my teeth still feel ick. Oh well…
Keep a toothbrush and paste at work for mornings like this, moooom.
Lunch was flank steak, au gratin taties, and asparagrouse, courtesy of the hospital cafeteria. Nummy!
