The Pass Over MMP

Last load in the washer, next-to-last in the dryer. I’m almost done knitting a hat while watching TV. It’s a productive evening of chillage.

{{{swampy, MamaBear and kin}}} May everything go peacefully.

I was out the door of irk by one today, so I got the groceries bought. I swung through the noodle house a while ago for some cashew curry and shrimp in a blanket. By the time I got home, my BG was down to 67. That meant a handful of grapes before actually eating.

Tomorrow, I nees to harvest lettuce, fill plastic aigs, make soup, make most of the dish to take with me Sunday and go to pick up a few more kid craft supplies. But at least I can sleep in.

Like this?

“Teach a man to flyfish and he’ll drop 837.49 at the Orvis shop in the next week.”

Home and resting up for tomorrow. See yinz late then or Sunday.

Tell that to the Ferengi. You might get a cut.

Rule of Acquisition #433: “A hungry man is a better customer.”

I learned an expensive lesson today about buying things online. You’d think I’d been doing it long enough not to be caught, but, nope. I ordered something from a new site, called for my delivery information. They called me back and said something about they were sending me a cashier’s check and I needed to send them even more money before they would send my item. :smack: I knew right then I wasn’t seeing my item or my money. I asked to cancel the order, but, yeah, that’s not happening. Giving myself a few extra smacks to remind myself not to buy from unknown sites in the future. :smack: :smack: :smack:

'Beamer has a friend over. Once he leaves, we’re heading out for late sushi.

Happy Saturday!

Good night’s sleep last night, from 9pm til 4am. I’ll take it.

It’s still dark outside but is supposed to be cloudy and in the mid 70s today.

Yesterday was not productive. I called a friend to see what was up with her. I knew something was going on and she finally started crying and told me her marriage is over. I hope they can work it out. I had to call ATT and to get some questions answered and had a cool conversation with the CS guy. He is from Afghanistan, now lives in Texas and was great fun to talk to. Now my ATT and DirecTV bills will be combined, which makes life easier. I got a card from my mother with a check inside. That was a happy surprise. OAOASO called me, to ask for some help LOL. He told me I am not very nice anymore. Oh well, you reap what you sow. When the only time I hear from you is when you have a problem and need help I see no reason to be nice.

We are going to a Baha’i service tomorrow. We have invitations to attend a service a few towns over that is held in a private home, or another one in WV at a temple. I’m going to get directions and go to the closest one, which I think may be the one in WV.
We can check this off the to do list and he can write his paper and be done with it.

So the agenda for today is finish the laundry that didn’t get finished yesterday, clean up the kitchen, irk a little… all the usual boring stuff.
And of course - taxes.
I think I’m done, just have to bite the bullet and pay them.

Well me and Sari are now on the same sleep schedule. Why why,why can I not sleep in on my days off and have to drag out of bed on workdays? I walked the dog and cat already and made some coffee. It is trying to rain off and on. I wouldn’t care if it rained all day but probably won’t.

Big plans for the day include more cleaning and figuring out Easter food plus the ever present laundry. But not too much as I did tons the other night.

Happy Sat all.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Short day, then watching wall to wall hockey the rest of the weekend.

Are you dissing the Hero of Canton’s fashion choices?:dubious:

Yes, flytrap, I’ve already made a couple of hats from that pattern, or a similar one. The one on my needles now is a variant on that design, but without the earflaps - just the cap part. I haven’t decided about the fuzzy topper yet.

I don’t know what **FCD **was dreaming last night but I awoke to “bam-bam-bam-bam” on the side of my wedge pillow. He punched it 4 times in rapid succession!! I woke him (sorta) and the punching stopped, so I guess I changed his dream channel. And thanks to the wedge, I was about 6" above the punch zone. I know he won’t remember any of it this morning.

I woke to several doors open - Taz apparently needed to check out the pantry and the cabinet under the sink. Their kibble dispenser was getting low on kibbles, so it’s been refilled. I need to buy more next time I shop. They’re good for a week, so no rush. I’ve also got to refill Higgs’ kibble bucket, but the new stuff is already purchased - just a matter of dumping it from bag to bucket.

It’s overcast and cool out - no sun in the forecast, but temps are supposed to hit mid-70s. My first chore will be getting the ground cover planted. Once I figure out how I want to do it, I should be able to speed thru the process. Then I’ll help **FCD **with the shed. Final chore of the day will be halving the eggs, dying the whites, and mooshing the devil out of the yolks. I’ll put the components in baggies and assemble them at Mom’s tomorrow.

Happy Saturday, all!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 55 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy with a predicted high of 86 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Partly cloudy and mostly N.O.S. sound like the same thing to me. I need to go by the nursin’ home to check on unc this mornin’. Mornin’ is best cause he’s more lucid then. Other than that, well, another day at hospice. I assume mom will be discharged to home hospice tomorrow. We shall see.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then I need to purtify and go forth.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

I go bed now.

Got up before dark[del]:thirty[/del] to go fly. Got a call enroute; there’s a flat tyre in the twuck & can I go to his house to help change it. I get there & all they’ve done is inflate the flat one; one can both see the nail & hear the hissing from the air leak. They haven’t even begun to get out the jack or remove the spare tire. :smack: Since it was Found On Road, Dead, the tire is underneath the twuck. I’ve never had a vehicle like this & he doesn’t know how to remove it so he needs to go inside to find the owner’s manual. By the time he comes out, he’s antsy that it’s too late to fly (no, it isn’t) & it’ll take too long to change (no, it won’t…iffn you let me at it.)
End result: no flight & the bad tire is still on twuck. He’s just going to reinflate it & drive the few miles to the boys at Pep & have them pull it off & plug it once they open. No need to mess with the spare, but of course this means that no one really knows how to get the spare down. I may go to the Fix Or Repair Daily dealer later & have them show me, which will, of course, ensure that I will never need to know that skill now.

(Not really — I keep a copy of Quarks book as told to Ira Behr next to my computer. My favorite is #192)

Give a man a fish etc
Teach a man to fish blah blah
And you will also have created a habitual liar.

A Pastor wakes up on this beautiful sunny Sunday morning and decides the heck with church; I’m going fishing. So he posts a note on the door of the church “Sorry – I’m sick today. Council President can lead worship” and runs off to a distant trout stream.

As he’s fishing, Saint Peter sees this and calls over “Lord, come look at this! A man of the cloth lies and goes fishing on Sunday! And us fishermen at that! He should be punished BADLY!!!” So the Lord makes a few gestures in the air and the Pastor casts and lands a 20 inch brown trout. And then he casts again and lands a 24 inch rainbow. Every cast is another fish and none was under 18 inches.

So Saint Peter looks at the Lord and says “What is wrong with you? All the sins that man has done today and you reward him with the greatest day of fishing ever! How is that right?”

And the Lord replies

So who is he going to tell about it?

I once owned and operated a flyfishing business. I have a lot of jokes even worse.

Well, time to leave for work.

I’ve planted all my partridgeberry plants. The website advertised 40 for $30. I’m pretty sure I got more than 50. Towards the end, I started doubling up some of the smaller cuttings just to get done. They’re all watered and fertilized - now they just need to grow and cover the hill. Fingers crossed…

The worst part was my drippy nose. Pollen must be plentiful today.

After my back recovers, I’ll scrape the mud from under my fingernails and commence to deviling the eggs. I also need to iron the top I plan to wear tomorrow - my only spring-like non-t-shirt top. But that’s not too much for a day’s work.

sari, it took me three months after I moved to get AT&T to combine my mobile and wifi bills. They don’t always use good sense.

slytrap, even I have made caps in that style and I barely crochet.

spidey, the tire being under the twuck is less a Ford issue and more of a twuck thang. To remove it, insert the pointy end of the jack handle into a hole (usually with a removable rubber cover) on the rear bumper and rotate until the spare is on the ground. There will be a metal piece on the outside of the center of the tire that you unscrew to remove it from the chain that attaches it to the twuck. Reverse to replace or let the guys at the shop do it when they repair or replace the tire.

I got some much needed sleep last night. Today is busy, so, I should get off my duff and bizify.

Well, I am now the owner of a brand-new car.

Went to the dealership about 0930, and as usual there was a lot of paperirk to sign and then they had to go over the vehicle with me in detail and set up my “UACCOUNT” with Dodge that is supposed to watch over my car like a benevolent Big Brother. Finally got to the money man who tried to sell me an extended warranty, but I put it off (I might do it anyway in a couple of months). Celebrated by having lunch at 5 Guys.

Pics are in my facebook: David Hutchinson

Still adjusting, it is larger than my prior vehicle and I sit farther up, and the damn 'flappy paddle" gear changers are right where my hands wander, so I might be cruising in automatic and suddenly I become a stick shift driver, but in general I am happy with it and figure I don’t have to mess with this again until 2025 (we’ll have flying cars by then, won’t we?).

A new nickname?

I figured out that I needed the jack handle to lower it but was having issue figuring out where jack handle was supposed to go. Briefly considered the correct place was upside someone’s haid.
I am proposing an August Mumpfest; it’s on the other side of the bay from Mooommm, but there will be plenty of watermelon

Sari congrats on sleep.

Butters is it just you for Easter or do you have family or friends coming over?

Spidey - Sorry about the fishing trip. I am not sure how I’d do with hunting, but I love fishing. (Love me some meat too - I’m guessing I’d be fine with hunting if I needed to do it.)

Swampy are you staying at the family home while you’re back in the Olde Home Towne?

Ruble good luck with that double.

Red can you point me to a good crochet pattern for hats? I got some purty yarn and want to make hats, but I don’t have a starting point. I can knit, but not really well. I’m much better at crocheting. Good to know about the tire, btw, since I now have one of those trucks.

Congrats on the new car MetalMouse! I know you’ve been waiting for a while. May you have many happy miles together.

Last night I also slept well, for the first time in forever. 'Beamer and hubby are off at a Makers Faire, having fun playing with robots and such. Later today I am going to my orientation for volunteering at the humane society. I love animals, so this may end badly (i.e., with me having more animals), but I’m giving it a try.

We decided that we would end up leaving too late today to make it to my uncle’s for Easter, so we’re going to have a late Easter with them in a few weeks. I feel badly about it, but it seems to have worked out that way.

Happy Sattidy MMP.

I rather like that. It implies a certain dangerous, low animal cunning that I do not possess.

We went to Bad Chinese for lunch - first time in YEARS! It was OK, and cheap enough, so there’s that.

I just finished with the deviled eggs. The dyed halves are in a container and the filling is in a zip bag. I’ll cut the corner of the zip bag and squeeze the filling into the halves tomorrow at Mom’s. Last chore (OK, I do have to iron a wee bit) is to mow the ditch. It shouldn’t take too long. I don’t want to do it but I absolutely don’t want FCD to deal with it, so I’ll go out there shortly and take care of it.

The sun is out and a few of the fingers on my left hand are purple. That’s my life.

Yay for new wheels, MetalMouse!
