The Pony Express MMP

Well, saw my movies. As a snapshot, Dr. Strange is not like any other Marvel superhero movie, but Benedict Cumberbach nails the role like Robert Downey Jr. did Iron Man. Very entertained.

The Arrival is the best damn “first contact” movie ever and one featuring aliens who are damn well Alien. And even though I guessed where we were going about halfway through, I was still riveted to my seat. Highly recommended.

And outside of buying a round-trip ticket from Chicago to Stockholm for June-July next year, that was the extent of my labors.

My house was fragrant today with collards cooking. I was lazy again today but tomorrow no excuses. Got things to do.

**swampy **- so you did chase them out by 8…

Laundry is done and **FCD **is getting packed. He hopes to be on the road by 5, and chances are, I’ll crawl back in bed after he’s on his way. Then I’ll be without adult supervision for almost 2 weeks.

I now feel like a complete doofus. I had a great-uncle who died at Pearl Harbor. My uncle served in the Air Force his entire career. My cousin is, er, serving in capacities of which we do not speak. Crap. I’m sure there are more in my great-uncle’s generation who made it home, but he’s the one we always remembered at family gatherings, because he didn’t. I think I need to consult Miss Manners for the correct protocol for the older family members. My cousin probably gets nothing and likes it that way.

I have a serious addiction to the jungle. The really tick me off however.

{{{****}}} Take the nice drugs I hope they’re nice enough to give you. I hope you start feeling better soon!

Today we saw Dr. Strange. We all loved it, except Sunbeamette, who moaned about Benedict Cumberbatch (apparently he’s not cool).

After reading all the dinner posts, I have a serious craving for ham. Action will have to be taken shortly.

Just pray to all that is holy you never get selected for our in-house delivery service. If you have a problem getting your delivery you will almost ALWAYS have a problem and you may not under any circumstances request “us” not to be the method of final delivery. I think I included a link to the official message board before but trust me that the people there are not whining idiots — it really is that bad. And for that particular aspect just like we get no choices as employees, the customer gets no choice. One size (delivery) will fit all or you can take your damn business elsewhere.

As employees ------ we’re sort of like Marines. Whether we over-all say we love it or hate it, there is this love/hate duality underneath. In a hundred ways it is one of the best places I’ve worked – second only to being young, single and working in a Harley shop. But the things that are frustrating are so far beyond any control or repair that you just have to live with them or quit. That’s just the way it is. Most places you can hope things change for the better. Here? It can only get more convoluted and probably worse.

Damn.
Poor baby!

We had a charity tailgate before the game for one of our hockey people. We raised $5k. Between Tony, my friend I mentioned last week, and one of my hockey messageboard friends who just got out of the hospital with lymphoma, it’s definitely a “fuck cancer” month. But the Canes won, all is good

strong like, at least.

Yes, Vicoden is my friend. And Sunbeamette is wrong. Just wrong.

**FCD **is on his way - he left just after 4:30, so earlier than he’d hoped. That should get him to Ocala by 6 for sure, provided he doesn’t try to test the limits of his Porsche and get pulled over…

I’ll probably crawl back into bed in a bit - I woke at 3 for no particular reason, and 5 hours of sleep just ain’t gonna do it. I foresee a long day. Oh, and it’s below freezing outside this morning. rah.

Happy Sunday!

Well, that didn’t work out the way I’d hoped. I tried to snooze a bit, but thanks to Higgs and Taz and not being able to turn my brain off, I gave up after an hour. Now I’m showered, dressed, breakfasted, and caffeinating. There’s a load of towels in the washer that will go out on the lines to dry. Then I’ll run to Food Lion for a few items before doing some clay work.

No telling what the rest of the day will hold.

Blurf

And and heading to be holyfied.

The towels are on the line. **FCD **called from NC - he got to the border in about 3 hours, which sounds about right. And I’m about to head to Food Lion - hope I can beat the crowd of Sunday shoppers…

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 57 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of ONLY 59 for the day and cloudy. Thus the temp now is pretty much the temp for the day. However it’s kinda humid so it does not feel chilly out. Still no rain in the forecast. I have ush duty this mornin’. N.O.L. will be leftovers from last night. Other than that, no biggie plans for the day.

{{{rosie}}} hope you feel better today.

sunny I sometimes want to slap people with a frozen trout or wet chitlins.

OK I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then I suppose I should purtify for deheathenization. Onward into the day!

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Sounds like an excellent idea; one I should partake of at some point soon.

The door to the rec center was open even before their stated 6am hours even though no one was there; I could look around & take anything I wanted (not that I wanted to) but the doors to the bathrooms that are inside the building were locked. :smack:
Breffest & then..nap or groceries???

That was a most unpleasant experience. They had to put me in a sling to get me out of bed onto the chair. I panic easily when I have no control over my own body. I’m not quite traumatized, but I’m close. :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

Groceries have been procured and stowed. I’m enjoying a celebratory blueberry turnover. Next chore will be reassembling the smoker so I can tidy the kitchen.

One of the nice things about **FCD **being away - I can park in the *middle *of the garage. It’s all MINE!!! Space space space space space!!!

Yeah, I know, it doesn’t take a lot, does it?

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. It was 26 when I took Gordie out this morning. I’ll do some cleaning, then head down to Tir NanOg for some music. And a pint.

BLURF. Up and at 'em.

Mmmmmooommm why two weeks? That’s a long time.

**Butters **- Well, on Tues, he’s going to our daughter’s classes to do some presentations about space and such. On Thurs, he and his folks are going to see an attorney to set up a trust to care for his youngest brother after his folks die. And since we’re not going to Ocala for Christmas, he decided he’d stay for Thanksgiving.

He’s a good son, but I expect he’ll be stressed before the end of this week. His folks are in their middle 80s, and his dad, especially, is losing it mentally. That’s really hard on my sweetie. And his mother can be a piece of work. She can barely see but she managed to keep her license. I understand hating to lose independence, but she’s a danger to everyone out there, not just herself. And you can’t tell her anything.

So, yeah, rough 2 weeks ahead for him. And for me - Higgs will make me crazy! She’s his dog, not mine, and I don’t spoil her like her daddy does.
