I went to bed with Mel shortly after 7 last night, watching a little TV till the mellow took over. Next thing I knew, it was 4AM. So I had a good sleep, but I’m still on DST, dammit!
Tomorrow, I’ll smoke a turkey for **FCD **to take when he goes to Ocala on Sunday. Sat, I’ll smoke ribs for the same trip. He gets hungry on the long drives… 
OK, in reality, he’s taking part of T-day dinner so MIL doesn’t have to cook so much. And I’ll set aside a few ribs for me, so I’ll have a treat.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 45 Amurrkin out and mostly cloudy with a predicted high of 75 and N.O.S. for the day. No huge plans for the day. I shall go to the Pubic Sto’ today and buy a turkey to take over to the church house. OYKW and I are providin’ one of the turkeys plus other stuff for the Thanksgiving Baskets provided for Turkey Day. The original goal was eighteen baskets. We are up to twenty-five. I may also go ahead and purchase a bird for us for Turkey Day. The usual Turkey Day gatherin’ will be here at da cave and family will be visited over the weekend after TDay. Oh and I have a ham thawin’ to be baked tomorrow evenin’ for a Sattidy dindin we are hostin’. Another fun day in retirement paradise!

I woke up too early, probably because I slept a lot yesterday.
Only to be woken up by an army recruiter. He wants to talk to Sah-son. I think Sah-son should talk to them, but he isn’t interested. I don’t want him to join the army, but I think exploring your options is always a good thing.

Nettie I may try the air can. Although he is smart, now he will claw at the couch, see that he got my attention, walk over and put his paw on the scratching post (he may or may not put in a few scratches), then he sits down and waits for his treat.

They finally put me in a room last night. I still have pain, especially when I try to move my leg, but the orthopedist said no need for surgery. They friggin’ put me on a cardiac diet, even though I don’t have any issues. Grrrr.

Busy morning - I almost worked past lunch! Well, not for reals - we don’t have set times, just set limits. Anyway, I finished what I was doing and I’ve now finished ingesting my midday meal. Ex-boss was just in picking up his wife and one of the other guys to go have lunch. He’s been back here almost every week since being fired, and he’s not yet said a word to me. Not that I feel slighted, but it strikes me as weird. Then again, he’s weird.
**FCD **should be plugging in the crock pot now to start supper. The leftover poke roast will cook all afternoon in Sonny’s Sweet BBQ Sauce, and I’ll pull it apart for supper. On the way home, I need to stop for some rolls and maybe some cole slaw. And chips. Supper will be easy tonight.

It looks like the issues from Monday/Tuesday are now going to become part of my stable of projects, at least for a few months. It was cool enough this morning that I turned on the heat, thus entering the expensive part of the year to keep the apartment comfortable. But, then again, it’s a different kind of heating system, so I might be surprised.
We all woke up today with sniffles and sore throats, so the 3-day weekend turned into a 4-day. My son finally got out of bed at 10:30 (which is dramatically late for him), and my daughter is still sleeping.
The cats are doing their part to be warm and comforting. I have a lapful at the moment. And, while I am thinking of it, they killed a mouse last night. In my house! (Well, I never!) Very good kitties. They are indoors only, but I guess all that training on spiders and dust bunnies paid off.
Bleah.
Home at last. I decided to stop at Weis since I just needed a couple of things to round out supper. I’m pretty sure it’ll be the last time I stop there.
When they advertise something as “2 for $X” you have to buy 2 to get the sale price. They had chips at 2/$5, so I grabbed 1. It rang as $4.29, and the cashier explained why. I told her I didn’t want it. It wasn’t even a name brand of chips!! I was also going to get a bag of frozen corn because we’re all out, but it was stupid expensive compared to Food Lion. So I bought the couple of items that weren’t overpriced and left. Then I stopped at Food Lion for chips and corn and a bag of pretzels to put in my desk at work.
**FCD **forgot to turn on the crock pot until after 2. I don’t know if it’ll be pull-able in only 3 hours - I’m about to go check. We may end up having chopped poke for supper.

Last night’s leftovers have been ingested. Now they are all gone. I made a batch of skettie sauce this afternoon and was plannin’ on sketties and meatballs for tomorrow but instead we shall have hot wings from the Pubic Sto’ cue to OYKW havin’ a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for wings. He will pick ‘em up and I’ll do some kind of appropriate sides. Anywho, that’ll be an easy dindin to make. I forgot to mention earlier but I got some collard greens from the veggie man this mornin’ when I went to the sto’. I shall clean 'em and cook 'em tomorrow and they shall be eaten on Sattidy. So ham, collards, baked sweet N.O.T., snap peas, corn bread and lemon icebox pie courtesy of Mrs. Edwards shall be served to guests on Sattidy. This will be a huge hit with this crowd (all six of 'em plus us) plus leftovers for Sunday N.O.L. so WIN-WIN!
