The President's Day MMP

Happy Friday!

I got most of month end wrapped up and still managed to duck out at 1:30. I hit Kroger for comestibles, including the stuff to set up a fajita bar for a friend who is moving Sunday. She’s in her late twenties and still at the buncha friends and a UHaul stage. Since I can’t schlep much of anything, let alone up and down the steps, I volunteered to cater a late lunch. I’ll swing by the Pubic Sto’ Sunday on the way there for the ice, cookies and beer.

Recall that all sorts of odd creatureslive in salt water aquariums, and saltwater cement ponds. :dubious:

Work is done and its time to get ready to be historic. I get to spend tomorrow laughing at George Washington in honor of his birthday. Happy happy!

Flytrap, that is one ugly critter!

I was gonna post something yesterday when it occurred to me that all I seem to post on here is complaints. I resolved to post some positive stuff once in a while, so instead I’m gonna tell you a sappy story:

Years ago, Wifey and I owned a tiny cabin at the ocean. Many of our friends would come and stay with us at our cabin on weekends, and often they would leave us something for the cabin. A funny sign, or a toaster, or something silly. One of the things one of our friends left us was a ‘whirlybird’, or whirlygig bird if you will. This was a very dear friend who, a few years later, died of breast cancer.
Well, when the economy went to hell we were forced to sell our beloved cabin, but the whirlybird came home with us and hangs out under the eaves of our patio. It was never a well built gadget, and over time it has broken over and over, but every time I look at the silly thing I think of our dear friend, and I fix the damn thing and hang it back up. As long as that stupid wirlygig is out there, our friend is still with us somehow.
Well, one of the wings fell off yesterday. This weekend I will take it down and figger out a way to put it back on so that it spins again. And I’ll keep fixing the damn thing until there’s nothing left to fix.
Dammit!

I didn’t say it was a happy story.

I was shocked, disheartened, & dismayed to learn that not everything one reads on the interwebz can be trusted. Not just the intrawebz in general, but right here in our own little corner of it, the MMP.

I was in (the residential section of) Chinatown today. You know our Swampykins, who purports to be from Jawja. He’s, ummmm, full of shit! He’s really a Chinese man…with a baby!
Proof? You want proof? Well, how else do you explain this?!?!

Oh yeah, dinner was outside at the Pub…in Feb…in shorts & a t-shirt!

Bumbazine, I think that’s quite a nice story. I hope the bird can be fixed.

I AM HOME!!!

After spending most of the week at a work conference away from my family, I am finally home.

Were you gone?

Only those of low intelligence would believe that because a dummy in Georgia hordes toilet paper, and a dummy in China town hordes toilet paper, they are one and the same.

I believe that you should be a contestant on the internet game show, “Dumber than Dogbutt.”

Canes win!

Up, caffeinated ,and sheveled. Off to work. Going down to the pub to see some bands after work.

**Bumba **- I thought that was a very sweet story - good luck with the wing repair!

**Spidey **- you think swampy was lying about driving a Mustang, too? That sure didn’t look like a Mustang to me. Then again, when I met him, he didn’t look Chinese… 'tis a mystery! How do I know it was really him that I met??

I was exhausted yesterday and I went to bed around 8:30. I was unconscious by 9, didn’t hear **FCD **come in whenever he came back, and except for one brief moment of bladder emptyage, I slept thru till 6:30!! Yep, I was tahred!! I needed that sleepage.

Plans for today include laundry, of course, plus I’m going to make a big pot o’veggie-beef soup. In fact, I think I’ll drag out the slow cooker and get started before we go to breakfast. Or maybe I’ll simmer it on the stove top at a super-low temp. Hmmmmmmmmm I’ll probably have other chores, too, but at the moment, none are planned.

Happy Saturday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 62 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 71 and N.O.S. this afternoon. No huge plans for the day. OYKW wants to go to N.O.L. at the not too shabby Chinese [del]hog trough[/del] buffet place so I imagine we shall. Other than that I foresee mostly sloth.

Spidey puh-leeze! Why would I ever want to buy such a paltry amount of tp as what’s in that vehicle.

MOOOOOOOM when I want to make lots of soup or stew I go with the biiiiiiiiig slow cooker. Of course I also have a covered back porch with electrical outlets and set it up out there.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then I suppose I should purtify if’n I am to eventually go about the public.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Morning. The neighbor gave us tons of homegrown tomatoes. One problem is there is no bacon in the house for a BLT. I don’t want to go to the store but if I am to have my BLT them I must. I’m sure once there I will find other stuff I want/need.

I have lots of housework to do this weekend. Fun stuff.

I went to a concert last night that’s part of a music festival, and today I have a rehearsal for a concert tomorrow that’s part of the same festival.

That was a sweet story bumba.

Up and caffeinating.Today, I am a prep chef. I’ll make the pico and guac for tomorrow, cut up the peppers and onions and marinate the protein. That will only leave the actual cooking and packing stuff up to go tomorrow.

Back from breakfasting, WalMarting, and getting the car washed. I’ve got the soup started - beef chunks were cut up, floured, browned in oil with onions, and now it’s about to start simmering in broth and burgundy. In a few hours, I’ll add carrots, celery, N.O.T chunks, and some mixed veggies. I should have bought a loaf of crusty bread. Maybe I’ll get some later.

**FCD **is at work because he can’t turn off his brain when he comes home. He’s trying to set up and run some heat flow analysis software, and until it’s working, he won’t be able to stop thinking about it. No clue when he’ll get home. Meanwhile, I have a carpet to vacuum and laundry to launder.

Happy Saturday!

It looks to be a dreary day today. We’re going to try to suck up leaves before the rains start. The warm weather is over for a while.

I survived yesterday, although I have a horrible sore throat and stuffy nose because everybody I went to visit had GD plugins in their house. My mother’s house is so bad that you can smell (and taste) the stuff halfway between the street and her front door.
Do people not know that that stuff is not healthy to be breathing in all the time?

I didn’t make it to my best friend’s house, ran out of time, but she doesn’t allow smelly stuff in her house because they make her feel sick too.

Anyway, Dr visit went well. Visit with friend and cousin went well. Drive down went quicker than expected as did the drive home. I only got 4 hours sleep the night before and I thought for sure I’d crash last night. I went to bed around 11:30, woke at 1 but finally fell back asleep around 3 and slept until 10:30.

I’m glad to be back home. The dog was happy to see me, the cat was a bit miffed at me last night but this morning he is back to being his pesky self.

Howdy Y’all! I have washed and dried a load of towels, we had N.O.L. at the not too shabby Chinese [del]hog trough[/del] buffet place, and nappage has been achieved. Nachos will be dindin when we get the desire to consume mass quantities again. All in all not a bad day.

Sari glad the trip went well.

Dog is trying to steal my lunch. pesky dog. Now the cat is looking irritated because he almost stepped on her while trying to do it. No one looks irritated like a cat. :stuck_out_tongue:

Quiet day. Husband just texted he landed in Atlanta on his way to Madrid. One more load of laundry. no real plans.

The sun peaked our for a minute, but it’s gone already. The cats were all over the sunny patch on he floor while it was here. it was kinda cute.
