Wishing you all the best, anyrose. And LisslaLissar, too!
Survived another day.
sticky thoughts for LiLi.

Welcome PandaMom!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN It’s the start of my work week.
Time for more caffiene and some brekkies. Don’t know what cause tummy feels a little weird right now.
Happy Tuesday Y’all!
G’morning all! Up and caffeinated and brekkied–yes, my daughter fixed scrambled eggs and bisquits this morning, and boy was it good.
Happy Tuesday y’all.
Good morning!
I had a nice surprise last night! I had forgotten that hubby was gonna cook dinner, and I walked into a kitchen smelling of pulled pork. Yum! What he did was pressure cooked some boneless pork chops, then shredded them and put them in a crockpot with BBQ sauce. Fabulous! It’s so nice not to cook, especially on Monday.
Have a nice Tuesday, everyone!
I had to windows open last night. Now it’s off to work.
I was afraid it might do something weird. Thanks for doing the experiment for me so I don’t have to.
It’s raining here, too, FCM. Finally. The official report is that we’ve had (prior to this) a quarter inch of rain in July when we should have had about 2 1/2 inches. But I think that’s at the airport and we’ve had even less. It’s bad here. So yay for rain!
Now I need to go get some people to make some decisions. I seem to work with decision-making impaired folks here. Blah.
Arrrrrrrgggghhh! Just re-nick me “yo yo.” Last weeks blood test revealed that I’m now in need of a higher dosage of thyroid medication. But wait??? That’s the same dosage as I was on before when I was getting too much. WTF?? :dubious: Okay, we are going to try this one more time before I demand the specialist. And I still feel pretty much crappy.
I look forward to your MMP, bobbio, and the pics.
Hope the goggie feels better, stg.
Tupug
Everyone have good days!!!
I’ll probably only be office-ing a few hours, then errands, meetings, a doc visit, and general goofing off.
Crazy day here…my training class in the windowless basement room ended early so there is that.
Then I walked into a shit storm at my ‘regular job’ when I had planned on goofing off all afternoon. Oh well…I feel a nice glass of wine coming tonight when I get home!
Sorry to hear about the thyroid frustrations, Puggy. I hope they can figure it all out soon… it doesn’t sound like much fun.
mmmmmmmmmmmm, I’m jealous. I’m stuck in the windowless room for the rest of the day, and there doesn’t seem to be any early escape for me.
Though on the bright side, The Angry Russian and I are going for drinks after work, so there will be one (or several) glasses of wine later this evening to help me get over it.
Last night, I came home to discover that a squirrel a had taken a header from the top of the ginormous maple tree right into our front lawn. Needless to say, the squirrel was quite dead. It’s also the third squirrel in a year who’s decided to jump out of the nest and faceplant in our yard… you’d think they’d have found someplace else to call home by now. At the very least, I’m getting pretty good at scooping with one hand and holding a plastic bag with the other while avoiding actually looking at the poor critter.
Nothing says “welcome home” like disposing of dead furry creatures. Sigh. Ain’t home ownership grand?
Yeah, sounds about right. IIRC, you’re pretty new to the whole “I’m hypothyroid and need to treat it” crowd. My faint recollection from over ten years ago is that I went through the same yo-yo dosing. It’s all very non-linear and a bit unpredictable. They can’t really say “Oh, your TSH is 10, so you need 150 mcg of Levoxyl.”
Throughout all of this, are you at least able to keep using the same brand? (Synthroid vs Levoxyl) They don’t behave exactly the same at a given strength in all people. For a while, I was having some crazy swings when the pharmacy had me on the Random Generic of the Month Club. Re-writing the prescription to not allow generic substitutions got that sorted out, at least.
Okay, my scrip is for levothyroxine which I am told is generic. Do you mean to say that it could be flavor of the day??? I just want to feel effin’ normal.
muppet, I have several times been witness to squirrels dropping out of the trees. Luckily, the ones I have seen dusted themselves off and sheepishly went back up the tree. I think squirrels are a lot less agile than we think. And not all that bright. Mr. Anachi got within a foot of one that was industriously pulling fibers from our young queen palms. It flipped out to say the least.
Yep, levothyroxine is the generic, and who knows who actually made it. It’s supposed to work the same in your body as the name brand Synthroid or Levoxyl, but in reality, that goes about as far as saying the cheap gas from Rotten Robbie is the same as the pricier stuff from Shell or Chevron. They’ll all make your car go, but you may experience better or worse MPGs with different brands.
Hang in there. It will get sorted out soon enough.
Puggy, the ginormous tree in question is about 30m high (or taller than a 3-story house)… sadly, too high for the dumbass squirrels to survive when they fall.
I just wish someone had warned me that home ownership entails fairly regular critter disposal, among other things. Ewwwww.
It is 95 freakin’ degrees at 9PM in Paris and huuuuuumid
There is no air conditioning in my apartment block
There is no air at all in my apartment block (not literally but you know what I mean…Gah!)
On the plus side:
23 days til Hubby Time!
Sorry for the thyroid ‘issues’ and the face planting squirrels!
'Scuse me while I go stick my head in the freezer…
Howdy Y’all! One down and four to go. I work in a windowless place everyday so I don’t wanna hear it! So There!
{{{Puggy}}} hope they figure out the thyroid soon so you feel better.
Muppet ain’t homeownership grand? Dead critter. Your problem. Leaky faucet. Your problem. Roof need fixin’. Your Problem. AC/Heat goes out. Your problem. On the plus side, you can paint every room of your house neon purple and nobody can say anything about it.
Dindin will be roasted chicken boobs and laigs, peas and carrots and smashed N.O.T.. MMMMMMMM… I’m ready to neat NOW!
Teh Sick is still there, but I’m coping.
The Vorlonand his missus are on the way to pick me up for a Beantown micro-Dopefest. More as it develops…
ETA: Muppet, I’ve had to deal with lots of stuff as a homeowner, but never fatally clumsy wildlife.
Yay for a micro-dopefest BBBobbio! Have fun.
In other news, I’m sleepy. It’s 5:33 p.m. and I feel like I could go to bed. This is pitiful.
Paint the walls neon purple? Ugh. I’d something to say about that.
Meanwhile, we keep looking for miracles. We just found that DH’s unemployment runs out in mid-August. Don’t really know what we’ll do after then. Filing for an extension takes 2-4 weeks, and can only be initiated after the regular benefits run out. Worst case scenario would then have us moving in September.
Still need to make some decisions on things - do we move the piano or do we craigslist it here and then get another when we have a new place in the Carolinas? If it goes with us, it will be in storage for who knows how many months, and that certainly does no favors to a piano. And it’s big and heavy. Do we sell our dryer now? Seems that the rental homes we’ve seen so far have electric laundry hookups, and our beloved dryer is gas.
