The Prize Inside - an introspective MMP

You can have mine…

I’ve tried to have my neighbor tether his horse in my yard, but he says Smokey is too stupid for a tether, and he can’t afford the vet bills for an equine broken leg.

Which, your bears or your job?

But **swampy **and I have jobs!

It’s firday and only on page 3?

Lot’s of sticky thoughts headed toward you, LiLi, Congratulations!

Eww on the toddler effluent.

Welcome home Bobbio.

I asked off work for a 4 day weekend. Saturday is the anniversary of Hubby[sup]tm[/sup]'s passing, and Monday is his birthday. I am doing ok, and C is very supportive and understanding.

I’m outta here!

Happy birthday, swampy!!

The bears, silly. I need the job for a bit longer.

After 4 PM this afternoon, about 30 more years…

Back from the mountains. Compared to mountain weather, Baltimore-area summers suck. I mean, they already sucked, but now they suck more. Will type up some prodigious but insightful wall o’ text re: vacation in the future, I supposed, but for now I gotta go vacuum so the house will not look like it is infested with drunken hillbillies* when my cute friend gets here from New Joisie later this afternoon! XD

*No offense, Swampy.

Anyone know a good homemade barbecue sauce recipe? Something not entirely too complicated, yet delicious? Me n’ Jasmine are gonna make BBQ Chicken tonight, and use any leftover chicken to make homemade pizza tomorrow! YUM!

In case anyone is keeping track it is now 20 days till Hubby Time!

He has promised he will be all healed up and recovered from the Shingles so heres hoping he is up to being ravished! Yes you needed to know that :stuck_out_tongue:

Glad it is Friday. Long lie in tomorrow morning

Moonbeam try this. It’s as simple as it can get.

EASY HOMEMADE BARBECUE SAUCE
2 1/2 c. catsup
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tbsp. mustard
1/4 c. onions, diced
Mix ingredients together, use as desired.
Heh. Use as desired. We won’t judge.

Howdy Y’all! I’s home and tahrd! I have pasta drainin’ and chicken and veggies diced up. I’m makin’ chicken pasta sallit. No recipe really. Just what ever kind of funky pasta shape ya like cooked and drained, bunch of diced up chicken and whatever veggies ya want. I have cucumbers, ‘maters, bell pepper, summer squash and some pimento cause I like pimento. Pour whatever kind of sallit dresin’ you like over it and mix. Works well with both Eyetalian and Ranch but other stuff would be good too, I reckon.

Thanks for the early bday wishes Herbs and taxi.

Spaz I called the bears and told 'em not to mess with an Agony Aunt.

I’m ba-a-a–a-a-ck! Did you miss me?

I’ll go back and read the MMP in a minute, but in the meantime hugs, good wishes to all.

I’m glad to be home. I haven’t slept in over 24 hours and now I can’t fall asleep. I had fun out on the Riverwalk, and met or reconnected with old and new contacts at the conference. I even learned a couple of things. It was frackin’ HOT though. Especially yesterday, good lord that was miserable.

I guess I should read through the MMP now.

I’ve read through the MMP now and want to add congrats and sticky wishes to Li-Li.

Although it was hot as hell down in San Antonio, the convention center had the damn AC turned up to Arctic Blast. Even the men were complaining it was too damn cold. I had to leave the presentations I was attending several times to go outside and warm up for a bit.

I have to say they put out a nice spread at lunch every day. I was pretty much expecting cold cuts and rolls for lunch, but they had all kinds nice food laid out for lunch every day, different stuff everyday too. There were over 2000 of us in attendance down there.

I don’t have nice things to say about the airline I traveled on. They suck and it’s no wonder they almost went bankrupt. I came damn close to missing my connecting flight back home because the idiots couldn’t be bothered with informing the passengers that our flight had changed gates. The personnel attending the boarding gates were exceptionally rude too.

My hotel, on the other hand was very nice and so were the staff.

Welcome to our newbies!

Hi everybody! I guess I forgot to post this morning.

We’re having beef kebabs, grilled mushrooms, steamed asparagus and baked NOTs.

I’ve also been at the bar for about two hours. W00t!

I love Fridays.

What a Firday this has been!! I left work a bit after 11, after a stoopit meeting. **FCD **and I went to Annapolis and got some boat stuff and some new work pants for him and one of those umbrella-like clothesline thingies for me. We installed the holder and the cement is setting up. Hope I can use it tomorrow - I’ve got a bunch of clothes to wash.

I’ll be assembling cats tomorrow, too. And I thought of a different way to make cat heads that I want to try. So tomorrow will be a laundry and clay day. yay!

We had a mega thunderboomer last night that woke me from a very deep sleep. I never did quite recover. I’s tahred. I’m thinking a toasted almond will help me doze off…

You’re also too far away to tear through my trash can. So far. glances askance at you

I 'preciate that.

While we’re somewhat on that topic, a lady came to the front desk tonight looking for a club to go to after the festival closed up for the night. One of the clubs she mentioned–the one she ended up going to–is the gay club The Boys (aka The Current Roommates) and I used to go to back in the day. It is a good place to dance, but she was looking to pick up a guy. I told Irish Brother and he said “It’s raining men, but not for her.”

In other news, I may or may not be going to Bele Chere tomorrow with Cute Coworker. It depends.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN

Welcome back Taters! Glad the trip except for the flight was good. That airline wouldn’t happen to be Don’t Expect Luggage To Arrive, would it?

Ok, I need more caffiene and some brekkies followed by work purtification.

At least I get partied after work today, so there’s that. Woohoo!

Later Y’all!

Up, caffeinated, off to work.

Up, but I don’t want to be. For some reason, my internal clock thinks 4:14 is wake-up time! I rolled over and fell back to sleep, but a certain little dog brat decided that shortly after 6, she *had *to go out. So I tended to the critters, sent daughter off to take her Praxis II test, and thought about crawling back into bed - I may do it still, but first I need to wind down. So here I am.

Today is a stay-at-home-and-do-stuff day, altho I do need to run to WalMart <shudder> for critter chow. I think I’ll do that late. Midday Saturday is not a good time to shop there.

Nephew wants to go sailing one last time, so I think we’ll try to go out tomorrow for a few hours. He heads home on Tues, so I need to call the airline now about having daughter escort him to the gate. He’s legally blind, and while he can see some, reading signs is problematic, and he’s never been in BWI alone - not good.

I had a bizarro dream that a bunch of us - my fambly, one sis, dunno remember who else - showed up at a coworker’s house, uninvited and unannounced, for dinner. We didn’t even knock - we just walked right in. And it’s not like it’s a coworker I’d hang with anyway. He’s a nice guy, but we’re not buds or anything. Then the dream morphed into a strange Mexican cafeteria-type restaurant where we couldn’t figure out what was on the menu or how to order. Scruffy saved me from that by barking.

Happy Saturday. I’m almost ready to go back to bed…

Lunch time for me and todays lunch will be my verions of Caprese salad as I got some lovely fresh on the vine tomatos this morning.

Then I am going to try to practice what I am going to do with my hair for a friends wedding I am going to in 3 weeks as I have a ‘Fascinator’ to fix in my hair.

Also need to call the spa at the hotel hubby and I are staying at for that weekend and arrange a couples massage and a pedicure for me.

Can you tell I am looking forward to seeing my hubby in less than 3 weeks?
