Devil’s Advocate: I’d like to see the actual question, do they list it somewhere? Are people confirming that they don’t want that fictional event of mass murder to happen again? Or just that immigration policies could stop it from ever being plotted.

I love Spicer’s logic in this video (e.g., around the 3:00 mark): He explains that you can’t take a statement that Gorsuch made about a general situation and apply it to a specific case. As near as I can tell, he is trying to say that if we have the logical statement that “All cows eat grass” and we know that “Bessie is a cow”, it is not possible to conclude that “Bessie eats grass”. Maybe he just needs to take a course in elementary logic?

What you can’t do is the reverse. If I say I hate YOU, you cannot then infer that means I hate everyone in the Trump administration. It’s true, but you can’t tell that from my statement.
