The seeds of summer to come--A February MMP

{{{rigs}}} For all our silliness and carryin’ on like a buncha middle schoolers, we do care for one another. If you feel better comin’ in and lettin’ your frustrations etal out, do it. We are, above all things, nice dammit! I can’t begin to imagine what you’re goin’ through but I can let you know I’m here and we’re all here for ya.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ and surprisingly chipper for somebody who has to work from 2-10 this afternoon/evening. Actually it ain’t so bad. Sunday’s are pretty mellow and it gets the first day of the week over pretty quick.

Ok, guess I need some more caffiene. Also need to purtify for churchification. I get to ush today. Brekkies shall be cereal and toast cause we’re goin’ to lunch at Blackbeard’s, the local really good seafood place, after church.

See Y’all tomorrow! Be good!

maybe she hears a critter in the wall?

Got another pallet-load of hugs here. Is there a rigs here? Sign on the line, please. Okay, back 'er up!

That makes me miss Duchess Siobhan. I’m sure she’s getting nowhere near her RDA of pettin’s from Mountain Friend.

There’s some kind of weird light in the sky. The temperature is suspiciously rising. Could it be…is that…THE SUN?

We have a weird light here too, Spaz.

Up, ate oatmeal, uploaded knitting pictures (here’s my first hat), off to get ready for church…

ETA: rigs, did we mention…hugs?

GT

I’ve been a grump the past couple days about the tinnitus. My efforts to distract myself have resulted in all the recycling taken in; refundables returned; light fixtures in kitchen and dining room washed; fridge wiped out, living room windows cleaned inside, and it should be warm enough to do the outside today. I’ll probably do the bed linens today too.

**[hug/squeeze] rigs [hug/squeeze] **I’m so sorry you’re in such a sad and worrisome situation. I hope you got a good sleep in.

Very glad Bernie has perked up,** FCM** and a Welcome Home! to your squeelicious FairyChatCat.

**{{taters}}. **Sounds like the Noro-virus that’s going around here. It blew through my neighbor’s medical office a few weeks ago, and a resort up island a bit has been hit and quarantined. Nasty bug.

Your roast dinner is giving me the growlies, tarragon. I’m already anticipating the roast pork I’ve been invited to dine on at the neighbor’s tonight. I’m bringing the salad so I’ll have to nip out to the store today.

{{{{Rigs}}}}

I know the whole situation sucks, but at least things are out in the open already – think back to before you and TH agreed you’d be parting ways; as bad as things look now, I suspect it must have been worse before…

**Taters **-- glad you’re feeling better.

Hugs, boos yays etc… to everybody else!

Help a guy out. How the hell do you pronounce Siobhan?
{{{{{{{Rigs}}}}}}}, and goose for good measure.

I’ze in full procrastination mode, avoiding destruction of my bathroom. I’ll probably start noonish, and I figger about 3 hours start to end.

{{{{{{{{{rigs}}}}}}}}}

Sorry it’s been a tough few months for you. Just remember that whenever you’re feeling like it’s too much, we’re here for venting purposes and any primal screams you might feel the need to unleash.

Moooom, that’s a mighty adorable furrkin you’ve got yourself. I’m sure she’ll open right up once she gets to know her new family.

Cute hat, gt. I like the colour you chose. It’s very soothing.

The roast beast sounds good, tarra, especially with all the trimmings. Nom nom nom. Which reminds me… I need to stock up on eye of round, which is on sale for ridiculously cheap this week (LiLi - $1.99/lb at Sobey’s, if’n you’re interested)

We ended up having an impromptu dinner party last night with the Cats’ Godparents (seriously, they’re the couple who inherit the cats should anything ever happen to both of us). I made a mushroom lasagna in white sauce from homemade noodles, spinach salad and homemade olive-rosemary foccacia. It was very very yummy.

Tonight will be bison stew… I’d had the meat marinating already by the time we decided to have company, but since they’re vegetarian, I figured large chunks of animal protein wouldn’t be a very appropriate choice. I think I might make a giant batch of black bean and corn chili too, since I’ll be working in the 'burbs for part of the week and it would be nice to have a couple of meals that are ready to go when I get home.

I believe it’s pronounced Sha-vaun (it’s one of those weird Irish names)

GT, your hat looks cute - I like the colour!

FCM, another cat? You are a braver woman than I am! I hope all your critters learn to get along!

Had my performance appraisal today (only 1 month late!) and all went well. The COO tried to tell me my self-assessment was “generous”, but I could back up all of my scores and that was why he ultimately gave me the same grades as I gave myself! No salary increase, since I have only been at the bank for 6 months, but I’m looking good for a bonus (pro-rated back to 5/12 months for 2008) - no, I’m not telling you how many months salary the bonus is! :stuck_out_tongue: But I do see us paying off ALL our credit cards and putting a small nest-egg/house-deposit-starter-fund aside! WooHoo - hopefully by this time next week, we will be debt free!!!

Ohhh, more {{{{{rigs}}}}}, 'cause it’s all I have to offer!

<from a prone position, looking like a wet noodle>

Some of those hugs were a bit enthusiastic. I think the stuffing in me has been rearranged.
Thanks, everyone. I do feel better. I awoke at 0400 unable to sleep and tossed and turned for about 2 hours when TH awoke. I said sorry for the scene (when I get a head of steam going, Talullah Bankhead’s got nothing on me), and I explained that my anxiety level is out of control and I do realize it. So, I need to get to my PCP and ask him for something. To which he usually looks at me funny, like I’m a drug seeker or some such, but he does prescribe it for me. Better living through chemistry.

Today I need to just do one step at a time and not [del]mindfuck[/del] contemplate the forest, but each tree. I will spend some time creating a colonial village with #2 son for his MAJOR social studies (aka as history) assignment. It’s not due until Mach 16, but he needs to learn how to take on longterm projects. Maybe I’ll learn from teaching him…

Bucks tradition, tosses Rigs a beer & one of those 10 lb Ghirardelli bars I think you’re gonna need this! There’s nothing to envy in your situation, THAT’S for sure! I hope TH gets situated tout de suite so you can get on with your life. I went through a similar scenario with my second husband–Himself and I knew we were going to be together but it took some months to scrape together a down payment on another place and get financed, etc., and during that time things were… cordial, but it certainly wasn’t comfortable, especially sharing a bed. Being between things sucks. You have all my sympathy, and please do not hesitate to cry on our shoulders, yell, kick things, whatever you need to do to get through, y’hear?

I gots the “meh’s” today–weather is clouding back up, there’s nothing much I feel like doing and nothing else I feel I MUST do so sloth is winning in my head. Bleah…

Good news there, Dotty! Gratz and stuff–bonuses are teh niiiiiice!

Nice hat, gt, where’s mine? :stuck_out_tongue:

Yarr, gots to go feed the goggies before they figure out I’m made of meat!

{{{rigs}}}, hang in there. We’re all sending good vibes.

I am posting from the new puter which is finally working. The new printer…not so much. Geek Squad dude couldn’t get it working either so I took it back and got another brand. He’s coming back next Saturday to install it. That’s okay with me as I doubt I’ll need to print, scan or copy anything at home before then.

swampy, grape thingies sound really good. I must try for my next soiree.

fcm, pretty kitteh! Hope they all get along. Also, glad Bernie is getting better.

Good on you for the review, dots! My new team leader e-mailed me about mine which is due this month. He has asked for some in-depth stuff about what I feel are my job responsibilities and what I would rather not do, and a lot of other psycho-babble stuff. :stuck_out_tongue: C’mon, dude, I’ve been with the company for nineteen years and you’ve been here for a few months. I am somewhat troubled about him assessing my performance for the past year. But I will put on the  face and get on with it.

Well, time for some lunch.

Tupug

Good morning everyone. I’m vertical, caffienating and alternately stuff up or blowing “stuff” out of my nose. Gah! I hate being sick. I’m hoping the worst of this crap passes by tomorrow morning. Although, I am glad to not be puking and doubly glad that my head doesn’t feel like someone is constantly whacking me upside it with a 2X4.

Rigs, more hugs to you. We are always here for you, as we are for every Mumper here. You all proved that to me in spades just last year at this time.

Not much else going on here. I think I’m just going to hang out and try to get past this crap. I’ll do some laundry and what not, but I think that’s about it.

FCM, I’m glad to read Bernie is doing better.

Yay on the good performance appraisal, Dotty!

Glad rigs and **Taters **are both doing better.
Thanks for the compliments on the hat everyone! The little point at the top wasn’t intentional, but I’m really pleased with it. (I met my objectives: it looks like a hat AND fits me.)

Off to do a little bit of shopping and then back to do laundry. Also need to go into work at some point for a little while.

Back after a while…

I took Gordie to the dog park. He’s a little calmer. A little. Note to dog: Just because you are named after Gordie Howe, doesn’t mean you need to drop the gloves with a mastiff bigger than your human. I’m wathcing the wings and Pens play. For once in my life, I have to pull for the Wings. I feel kinda dirty.

Congrats on the review, dotty!

Vbob, I’ll help you procrastinate.

Cute kitty, FCM. Gordie is starting to grow on Thrak.

palebunny, I taught Maggie wonderbeagle to play 5 card draw. She kept beating me

Hm. Sounds good on the eye of round. Unfortunately I hardly ever do anything but pot roasts, because we rarely eat at the same time. Any great cooking suggestions? Beef’s on sale a lot right now- I’ve got a boneless blade pot roast simmering that was on sale at 1.99/lb at Valu-Mart last week. I could put one through the cuisinart and cut up for stir-fries, and maybe roast one. Suggestions? Comments?

Nat decided to be feverish, complainy, and unsleeping from three until six this morning. My eyes are permanently crossed. If he does it again tonight I’m taking him to the pound. We still went to Mass, because I knew he’d be up until 1:30 this afternoon, and we might as well be agonizingly tired at church, since being at home would just make us want to lie down and ignore him.

I’m napping. Goodbye.

Like that.

I killed the thread? Dang.

I have some more agony. I really need to get a proper schedule established so I’m used to it by the time I move AAR to it’s new blog home. I’m thinking Tuesday/Thursday for now.

Whew! What a productive day… Daughter and I washed all 3 of our cars inside and out. Hers and mine were particularly gross, FCD’s wasn’t as cruddy. But they’re all done now, so yay!

Bernie was freaking me out again today. She would not get up, and when we gave her some water, she slurped it all down, then puked up yesterday’s supper. But just a few minutes ago, **FCD **and I took her outside using the towel sling, and she started walking around almost like normal. She went over to pee, then came back to me. Daughter brouight her some water, and she drank a whole bowl. I left her out there, since it’s beautiful and mild. When I went out to check on her, she got up and went to the door, and walked all the way into the house herself. Whew!

Duaghter is going to throw my laundry into the dryer, and when it’s done, we’re letting Famous Dave make supper. Guess my car will be the one to get the first road crud. Oh well…

New Kitteh was running amok thru the house last night. She used the litter box I set up in our room as well as Taz’s box. He’s still not too happy with his little sister. And she still prefers to hide under the bed, but when she comes out, she’s a lover.

Such is life at FairyChatEstates. I know I promised pics of ceramics, but it’s not going to happen today, I don’t think. I’ll see what I can do after I get back from supper. Too much to get done and not enough time…

Link doesn’t work?
