I feel like I made a better haul on the dice than the slots, but I haven’t been paying any kind of close attention.
The prizes are not terribly exciting, I have to say.
I have some donuts and am thinking of picking up Miss Springfield, so to speak. Last I checked, they were running a rebate deal. If you have already done so, does she do cute things (apart from whatever she may do behind closed doors)?
Has anyone gotten the Vegas Wives? Do they work as one character, like Patches and Poor Violet?
I picked them up. And they do work as one character. The problem with them though is right now they want Ned and Homer to do quests and Ned has the Casino quest to get chips. So I’ve only done one quest with them and then decided to put Ned back on the casino quest. So I don’t know where their storyline goes.
I actually got all of Act 1’s prizes. I usually don’t get the full set of prizes.
The Vegas Wives work together through their quest, but once you are past that they work as separate characters for normal play. Their quest is short, but beyond the bonus points earned for their purchase, the don’t have any in jobs in the Casino to earn chips.
One more stupid block and I’ve fully upgraded my crafting levels. I hope. Then I can start crafting stuff and get the players club points. I should get it tomorrow… knock wood.
I have been slacking off a bit this week. Just collecting from the roaming gamblers and resetting the casino tasks. I hadn’t played at Moe’s or chez Cletus for a few days. I had amassed 243 play tokens and only the first two Act two prizes. Sat down last night with a movie and some scotch and ground out the one armed bandit at Moe’s. I now have four of the prizes and will get the fifth today. I also topped out the crafting levels. I only visited other towns once this week. This event seems very achievable to me so far. Much nicer than the stress I have felt in some past events.
Also, Straight Outta Compton was excellent. The Scotch, too.
Well I finished stage 2 last night. And I have about 150 tokens for slot play that I saving for stage 3. I’ve only ever finished a few events on time but this is the first one where I am ahead of the game.
Man, that Redwood Tree is bleeding me dry, although part of that is because I don’t send anybody on tasks (other than the casino or Springfield Heights) any more.
Question: does anybody know if the Bartman costume is still available? I can’t seem to find it in the shop, although it may be tied to something like the Bartcave.
I’m pleased with this event. I have been playing once or twice a day and am up to date on everything. I slacked during Act I (missed some days) and didn’t get the final prize but I am 24 hours ahead on prizes for Act II.
Yeah, I finished it a couple of days ago and I think it took like $3-4 million to finish it. I started sending people back out on quests to replenish. It’s so much easier having the jobs thing where you send everyone out at once. It used to take 15-20 minutes to get everyone out.
The fee will reduce your income, so you instead don’t make any income? I mean some people would rather live in an unheated shack in the middle of nowhere than pay taxes…
There are two ways to assign jobs:
All at once, using the Unemployment office
or
The old way - one at a time, either through City Hall, tapping the pictures at the top left of the screen, or tapping the characters themselves.
According to the TSTO Wiki, using the Unemployment Office reduces the income for each character by 25% (15% for premium characters).
Speaking of jobs, am I the only one still waiting for somebody to add the ability to cancel a job in progress for free (of course, you lose whatever you paid to start it) other than by having to place the character or building involved into storage and then rebuild it? How hard can that be?
Now that I’ve played a bunch, it seems oddly deterministic. All 3 rolls are fixed, the only randomness determines what all 3 rolls will be. Often times, you will lose and the first two rolls will be +2 your bet and the last one -2. So bet 9 and you’ll get 11, 11, 7 or 5 and 7, 7, 3.
I know but it sounded like in a previous post you weren’t doing any jobs besides the casino and I was saying the surcharge is better than nothing.
Don’t know. I think the freemium model sometimes keeps them from adding features until it’s absolutely necessary and enjoyment is threatened. Which is why they didn’t introduce mass collection or unemployment until later.
I bought the Texan during this event and all his story jobs are 1-2 days long. Sorry, it’ll have to wait while he gambles.
I’ve noticed this also. If I bet 11, then a losing roll is either 2-2-9 or 12-3-5. If I bet 5, then a losing roll can be 7-7-3 or 6-8-10. No exceptions.
Had over 300 tokens saved up. Spent a good hour or two spending them while I worked today and got the first three act 3 prizes and am only a few builds away from black diamond club. I’ve made at least one of all the craftables too. So it’ll be nice to be done early and just grind for donuts and for crafting resources to get a million fountains and spotlights.
I never put stuff in storage that earns money, but I think these many LARGE casinos are going away after the event. There are so many and soooooooooo big.
I’m fine with that. I have 170 something characters. It was so annoying to do them one by one which is why I stopped jobs in the first place and then they put in the all at once button and I started doing them again
Then I finished the IRS building upgrades, a total of 18 million, to get the wider tap areas. I maxed that out and it is so much faster to collect from jobs and buildings that I think it was worth it. It will pick up everything on the screen of my kindle and a little bit more.
Then I got back up to almost 8 million and then did the tree and that put me back down to the low 3 million and now I’m back up to 5.5 million.
I had 212 saved up and I got the first two prizes and am 4050 into the third. I was curious to see how many chips I’d get so I wrote down my starting amount so I could see. After about 2 hours, I was also watching TV, I played them all on slots and got a total of 24,250 chips. I hit 400 chips 19 times.
