The Spring Break Beach Party MMP

Forgot to mention - we no have a Garmin. Or at least my spousal unit does. So no more calling me up when he gets lost…

Back to Cottonfield County this weekend to clean carpets and list my house. Rah.

Sorry about getting fired, BusDude, but good luck with the new job!

I sent that to my mom, Rebo. We’re all Methodists.

I’m 32 and I have at least 3 gray hairs, doggio. It’s a sign of wisdom.

Crazy busy day. And I’m taking tomorrow off just 'cause I have a lot of vacation time and probably very little travel this year. I’m going to sleep in!

Wow, MBG, that’s some news! Sounds like good riddance to me on the old job and yay for new opportunities.

Heh. I’m Catholic, but I was thinking pretty much the same thing as** Bobbio**.

Nice password trick, FCM.

Part of the entertainment of those little ones is that you get to puzzle out what they’re actually saying. I’m overdue for a visit with Local Best Friend and her little one, I think. She’s 3 1/2 and tremendously amusing.

Nava, the SOP where I work is that everyone who has a laptop as their main computer has a full-size screen at their desk. I’m sure it’s for ergonomic reasons (which is also one of the reasons we went with big-screen laptops, I’m sure; we’re all getting old). Our set-up is especially nice since you can then have two monitors at the same time if you’re doing something where that’s called for.

Long long day that started with a meeting that didn’t go quite as smoothly as planned. One of the speakers had car trouble, so one of my colleagues and I had to jump in to cover stuff. Fortunately, his stuff was pretty minor, but it caused us to scramble the presentation around in the hope that he’d still make it in. And my afternoon was one long stream of meetings, so…I’m tired.

Guess I’ll knit for a while.

Hugs.

GT

sigh Did your years in Mayberry teach you nothing? Southerners don’t do hotdish. We call it casserole.

At least my mom, the Lutheran preacher’s daughter, did.
“Wasn’t your mom from New Jersey?”
Shut up.

Culinary Boy is sick with what is either a mild flu or a head cold. He caught it from Computer Boy. I am now starting to feel a bit off. We share here!

Also, just for fun, Culinary Boy has an interview tomorrow at The Place That Employs Spaz. It’s for a housekeeping position. I have a good reputation there, which is why he got a callback.

Speaking of work, it’s been all kinds of crazy fun times there this week. I may make an LJ post about it after I get my sister’s data compiled and sent out to her. I told her I’d get it to her by Saturday, so I’m kind of committed to that schedule now. We don’t know where each other lives (she just moved and no one in my family comes to visit me) but we know where Oldest Sister lives and she might be up for hosting a cagematch between the Sister Writing a Thesis and the Sister Who Has Written a Thesis.

Good grief, I’m rambling. Yep, I’m coming down with it. THANKS GUNNYS.

Rosie’s sig to all, especially Busdude.

Worked sucked, but the tailgate was fun, and Canes win.

I have one, does that make me an idiot?(and no comments from the Peanut Gallery! :stuck_out_tongue: )

MBG, sorta sorry, but a 4 month vacation followed by a better job rocks. And they will ue the day they fired you.

FCM, my head hair is falling out faster than it is graying. Yhat’s OK, I can totally rock the buzzed/shaved head look. b:cool:

Wow, so sorry MBG, but congrats on the new job and good luck! Thanks for the passwords tip, FCM, I’ll definitely try it.

I’m up a bit late tonight, but getting ready to head to bed now, really. LOL Why no, I do not have insomnia tonight, not at all. But at least I am getting a jump on this …

Hurray it’s FIRDAY!!!

Whee!

¡Coooooño!

I thought it was marriages that had a danger spot at seven years, not jobs?

doing the wave

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN It’s Firday!!! YAY!!!

BusDude gettin’ fired sucks but sounds like you’ve landed on your feet pretty good. Yay for that! I say enjoy the time off and let word get back to assboss about the better, more money, less hours job you now have. He’s and idjit and deserves to know that.

gt it should have been “I’m Whiskypalian and this is a Bloody Mary.”

Yays, boos, hugs, gropes, noogies, trouts, chitlins, how you doin’s as needed all around.

I need more caffiene and to feed rumbly tummy. Then irk purtification must commence.

Happy Firday Y’all!

Sorry,** Spaz**, my Lutheran is the Scandinavian variety. What I would call casserole in public is a hotdish in church function context. :stuck_out_tongue:

Firday off, to tote barges and lift bales in the New Lair. Tomorrow I day trip to the Old Lair to shampoo carpet, clean out the fridge, sell the POS pickup, and list the property. Sounds like fun. Not.

Off to find coffee, and take trash to the dump. I have such an exciting life.

Could you swing some of that coffee the Sun’s way, Bobbio? He’s been hiding behind the clouds all morning, the lazy bum.

I want to go to the allergologist: that means I need a referral from a GP. Problem is, I’m some 600 miles from my assigned GP’s office. In theory that’s not much of a problem, I should be able to see a local doctor as an “out of town patient”. I’ve done it before in Barna, Middlebro has done it in Saragossa, Mom did it just last month in Barna. Healthcare has been “transferred” to regional governments, so the Andalusian government will have to bill the Navarrese one for my expenses but it’s not like the procedure for that isn’t in place (Navarra has been in charge of its own healthcare for over 20 years, we’re small and we have a special tax status so we’re often used for “pilot programs”); Navarra pays fast.

I’ve called the appointments number and gotten an idiot who claimed I could not see a doctor as “out of town” except in the ER, much less a specialist. Checked with the locals and they said I can get an appointment by going to the healthcare center, so that’s what I’ll do.

At the same time, Boss Who Does Things In The Last Minute has told me there’s people wanting to “unhire” me for a month if this and that and whatever else happen - he’s warned them that I’m freelance and therefore the unhiring may lead to calling me one month later and being told “gosh, so sorry, but it’s 3am here in Korea, could you send me an email? yawn Thankyamuchas…”

So, depending on whether I get unhired or not (can’t get fired: the ones who’d unhire me are a client, my boss is this Navarrese bitch who plays too much WoSW and whose Mom is visiting right now), and on how long it takes to see an allergologist here, I may end up not being able to see one here - I still figure it’s better to start the process ASAP while letting Bossman know that I’ve got no problem with going on vacation for a month. It would be nice to know sooner than, say, the Friday before the Monday they don’t want me to come in for :stuck_out_tongue:

rghgerkeg. The whole family’s sick, or at least Mr. Lissar and the kids are, and my condition of tiredness is indistinguishable from illness.

Caffeine now.

Up, caffeinated, off to irk.

{{{{{LiLI and family}}}}}}}}}

That sucks, Nava. You should use a Clue by four.

hugz & crossed fingerz for MBG
I’m off to a relaxing weekend of [del]poker, beer, and gossip[/del] fun with friends in a few hours. First time in easily 15 years Cousin will not be joining me. On the plus side, I can get across the bridge and into Jersey before rush hour starts; on the minus side, I have to pay for the room by myself. Ah well.

Ahh, Firday…

Always an easy day at irk.

Hugs, tissues and chicken soup for the sickies.

I got my review on paper yesterday. It’s pretty good! I have my one-on-one with my supervisor on Monday. I’m hoping I will be getting the promotion they’ve been promising since the dawn of man.

Cross your appendages, Mumpers!

Oh, that reminds me: a friend of mine who’s been out of the job market for yoinks (childrearing, and she’s now terribly insecure when actually her skills are perfectly marketable) has an interview on Wednesday which sounds like the job and her are a good fit. So appendages crossed for her would also be nice, thanks!

proceeds to cross appendages for Rebo

Appropriate appendages crossed for you, Rebo, and for Nava’s friend also! Hope you have a good weekend, Rosie!

I’m double-caffeinated this morning thanks to a second cup of coffee. Let’s hope I won’t be regretting this later in the day. LOL Oh yes, let me say that the Safeway brand (Refresh) lemon-lime soda is definitely NOT up to 7-Up standards, but will do in a pinch.

Happy FIRDAY all!

And adding ketchup is considered a spicing it up.

Howdy Y’all! I’ve been doin’ yahd irk this afternoon. Since I am technically still part-time and since it was slow at irk, I took the afternoon off. I put together my new edger and blower then proceeded to mow (yes mow!) edge and blow all the ick off stuff. I’s tahred. On the up side it’s nice out mid 60s and cloudy so I didn’t get all sweaty, just dusty. I have had me a shower and a beerverage so all is good.

Appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed for Rebo and NavaFriend. Nava maybe you need BooFae’s pointy stick to use on the local healthcare folk.

Have a fun weekend Rosie. Try to stay out of lock up but if’n you manage not to, we want details.

BBBobbio have a ummm… weekend. Hope everything goes well. Here’s to the old VunderLair sellin’ soonest.

Ruble would addin’ Velveeta to the hotdish be seen as fancyin’ it up?

Dindin tonight shall be grilled boneless chicken boobs and sallit. I made a sallit of spinach, romaine lettuce, seedless grapes, mandarin orange slices, sliced strawberries, feta cheese, cherry tomatoes and chopped pee-cans. I have a nice bottled raspberry vinegarette to dress it with. MMMMMMMM… Think I’ll do some cheesey bread too.

Happy Firday!!!

Still sick. Waiting for a call back from The Other Morning Lady to see if she can cover for me tomorrow. Because if I go in, based on Subtitute AGM’s performance today, I’ll be there aaaaaalllllllll day and I’ll just keep getting sicker. I told Afternoon Chick where the disinfectant was in the back and that she’ll need to wipe everything down.
