The Spring Done Sprung MMP

Blurf.

Pleasant walk to the office this morning, with no bonus near misses, but I had to get up an hour early to accomodate walking time. Of course, the damned dogs had me up for an hour and a half just after midnight, too.

I can haz Firday?

Good Morning Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 57 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 84 for the day. NIIIIIIIIIIIIICE!!! Of course I’ll be spendin’ it inside but still…

Other than that I got nuttin’. I need some more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Up, showered, dressed, and just counting the hours till I have to go to the Imaging Center at the hospital. I think I can get a couple of loads of laundry washed and on the line before I go - it’s going to be another warm day, so I’ll save some electrons and use my solar clothes dryer!

rosie, did you know that test requires that you purchase a key code? I’d have tried it for funsies, but for a fee? Not so much…

I watched a version of Jane Eyre on Netflix last night - it must not have been true to the book because it was pretty lame and I can’t imagine something like that being considered a classic or whatever it’s considered. Oh well, it killed a couple of hours and Taz got a lot of lap time.

Happy Thursday!! Where’s the breakfast fairy??

Morning. I’m up, caffeinated, off to irk.

No, FCM, I did not know there was a fee - but given that Mensa is not-for-profit, I am not surprised. We eschew corporate sponsorship. And the civilians that run the main office have to be paid somehow. When the office was in Brooklyn, I visited it a few times. Those folks are a well oiled machine.

Nava - your RANA and RAM sound like our RGs. That’s where I am when I speak of my poker buds etc. We also have an annual weekend long gaming thing, wherein we play test newly published games. Unfortunately I cannot afford to go this year. :frowning:
I have a suggestion: Summer (probably last weekend in June/first weekend in July) in 2014, the American Annual Gathering is going to be in Boston, Massachusetts. You should come. I’ll be there, so will Cousin.

You can haz Friday tomorrow but only if you’re a good boy today.
Oh heck, I just remembered… Mensa Malta is organizing one of those in May and I wanted to sign up…

Boston in 2014 sounds perfectly lovely. I was there once, during the summer I spent working in a summer camp in NH; it would be nice to visit it with money! Also, I’m once more amazed by people who plan things years in advance. We ask “ok, who wants to host this year’s RAM?” around April.

There’s no website yet - It won’t go up until after Fort Worth TX next year, whose site doesn’t launch until the day after Reno NV ends this year. We don’t actually plan anything, but the bids are awarded 3 years in advance because convention hotels in the USofA require that for groups in excess of a few hundred. AGs typically get upwards of 2500 attendees, especially if held in an interesting city like Boston.

First load of clothes on the line, second should be out soon. My cancelled appointment is rescheduled for tomorrow morning - glad there wasn’t a long delay.

I broke a lamp - actually, the glass shade, but I think I can get a replacement at Lowe’s.

House is open wide and I’m loving the sneak preview of spring. I won’t be surprised if we get a blizzard for Easter now…

Because I work 10 hour days, today is Virtual Firday. Neener neener neener.

Because I’m taking off all day tomorrow for a 15 minute doctor appointment, today is Firday for me, too!

:stuck_out_tongue:

FairyChatMom - Which version of Jane Eyre? My favorite is the 2006 version.

Last night I had the strangest dream…With Mario Lanza and Humphrey Bogart. Mario did a lovely version of Ave, Maria after the death of his child. Humphrey played two roles (including one in drag!) as a judge and the director of an adoption agency. They gave Mario and his wife another baby after the death of theirs. This baby had been abandoned and had a scar on his face from being burned. It was very strange and realistic, in a 1950’s movie kind of way.

It has taken me a year, but I finally found out that I do not need an AT&T landline to have UVerse tv and intertubz. And I can get a smartphone and keep my landline phone number. Soon I wil be one of the cool kids who can take pics with her phone. I am such a dork.

**StG **- it was the version with William Hurt as Mr. Rochester - I think it was made in '96.

And I’m back. Turns out tit-squishin’ with a digital machine as opposed to the film-using machine is not nearly as squishy! It’s still uncomfortable, but not as bad as it used to be, plus it seems to be faster. And the bone scan afterward was different from the last time I had one done - no funky pillows and weird postures. She scanned my left hip as I lay with my toes pointed in, then she had me bend my knees and flatten my back against the table so she could scan my spine. She said it looked like I have good bones. Huzzah! Considering how bad my eyes and my memory are, it’s nice to have something that’s good!

Lunch is a mini Digiorno pizza, after which, I’ll go out and futz about in the yard for a while. As, the joys of early spring…

I bet you were just Stalin for time until you got to use that one. Next time you get the urge, refuse-nik.

My sympathy. My non-dope screen-name/nickname has been on me so long even my mother calls me by it (Lurk). Know how I felt when Dipper, the dude who tagged me, passed. Good people like that are getting rare these days.
Got plans for the weekend ------ riding Saturday and Le Cage Aux for Sunday. They cost ------- but are worth every penny.

We’re still alive, but the kids have been sick all week. TomKitten just got the fever and flu that Nat’s had for the last five days. No sleep, lots of crying, fun times.

Is two too early to start drinking?

LiLi - How are the babies doing?

StG

OK, that’s enough for my first day out. I cleaned up the truck parking pad as much as I could - got the big chunks of wood out of the way, clipped a few vines that were out of control, and raked it out as much as I could. We need a bobcat to level it before bringing in a truckload of gravel.

Then I raked out the bed by the porch (got a blister and everything!!) and watered my flower boxes and the potted ivies, which will be planted on the hill this year, for sure! I also tromped down some mole trails in the back yard, but there are lots of 'em and some don’t want to be tromped. I’ll ride over them on the riding mower - that should flatten 'em!

I worked up a bit of a sweat - whew! It’s a start. Tomorrow, I’ll get the leaf sucker and vac/mulch what I raked today. Unless it rains…

Some of my hostas are coming up already, which is great. I need to move some, divide some more, and put some lilies in place of the hosta, since it’s now a sunny bed. Guess I know what next week will bring - an achy back!

I need a yard man, or a whole crew. There’s so much to be done and I’m old and decrepit. Oh well, fresh air and sunshine, right?

Someone will soon start yeltsin about the awful puns around here.

The babies are doing great, although the little one is still clearly littler, and hasn’t caught up. They’re both growing well.

The boys, on the other hand, are up between four and ten times a night, and we are zombies because of them.

Howdy Y’all! Home from irk and chillin’ for a bit. I made up some burgers this mornin’ and we’re gonna have burgers 'n fries for dindin. YUM!!!
