The Spring into Spring MMP

Happy Thorsday!

Ir’s snow, topped with more snow with another dash of snow on top. I woke up at 2am and it was snowing and it has been snowing all day.

We got back late last night, glad I listened to Sah-son who wanted to come home. If we were still in the armpit we’d probably be stuck there for a day or two.

That would make my mother happy but not so happy for me.

The snow may be my fault, my mother and I didn’t have any arguments this time and we may have caused hell to freeze over.
I had to walk out of the room several times, I can hear that Obama is the devil incarnate only so many times. She puts Fox News on the minute she gets up and she only takes breaks for Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy and of course Joel Olsteen.

She threw only one thing in my face this trip. She got an invitation to some place (I forget which building) in Annapolis, meet the governor, take a tour, have lunch. Twenty plus years ago I got an invitation to dinner at the Governor’s Mansion, back when Shaffer was in office. I could bring a guest and so I asked one of my friends to go. My mother was very upset that I hadn’t asked her to go, why didn’t I think of her, didn’t I think she would have liked to go. Whatever, I was probably talking to my friend when I opened the invitation and asked her.
Well my mother threw that in my face this time and how I should have asked her.
I just looked at her and said really mom, you are still going to harp on something from 20+ years ago?

Then I came home to find a dead mouse in the middle of the kitchen floor. At least it was dead and as round as it was I suspect maybe pregnant too.

Anyway I am happy to be home. We got groceries enough for at least 2 weeks.
No need or desire to go out in this mess and that is a good thing.

Howdy Y’all! Fish has been prepped for tomorrow. I even sliced up lemon. I also emptied the dishwasher in the church house kitchen. The dishes are from last night and since I was one part of the reason it needed to be used I felt it only right to do so. Plus I’m nice dammit! We et a burger then I came back to da cave. I’s tahrd!

Oh and the “No Snow” signs are doin’ an outstandin’ job.

Still snowing here - I was sure it would have finished by now. Supper was not bad. My head is starting to ache, but I have to wait 2 more hours before my next pain meds. Life is so unfair!! <pose of woe>

I didn’t do much today, but I’m beat. I’ll be hitting the rack as soon as I can get drugged.

So for now,*** MWAH!***

So we have more than one person here who is nice, dammit! Good to know.

That may very well be a virus screwing with you.
Try and download Malwarebytes on another machine and copy it to a CD of flash drive.

Oy!

I got out to chisel the truck out once the sun had melted some of the ice away. I made a quick trip to the gas station to fill up (I would have done it on the way to bowling last night, but we know what happened there). The roads suck! It’s supposed to get down to :eek:9F:eek: tonight.

Sometimes when I think the weather will never get warmer/better, I try to think ahead a few months. To the middle of June. Long walks on beautiful Montreal streets, late-evening summer sunsets, the scent of Japanese lilacs in the air, the Fringe Festival, late-night ice cream…

Just trying to be positive for once.

And now, after that lovely mental image… back to wrestling with the new computer.

We watched idiots trying to get up the hill.
One seemed to have the theory, “If I can just go fast enough…”

My place of business is going to be closed again tomorrow.
Eleven degrees tonight. I need to bring the brass monkey in off the porch.

Home from work. Me and another guy emptied 17’ of trailer. Boxes, some as small as books and some the size of old-fashioned TVs. Some under a pound and some 70+ pounds. Even in the cold we worked up a sweat. But it was a good kind of sweat and I had fun.

Beloved Brother is doing well and is in ICU/CCU for the moment. With luck step-down tomorrow and maybe home in 10 days. He got real real lucky - they found the blockages before he had a heart attack. So once he gets better his job is going to be buying our lottery tickets from now on.

Worked, came home. Made dinner. Beer.

Hey, I’m frickin’ nice!:stuck_out_tongue:

Mike Smith agrees.

Bad weather everywhere north of Fl. Mmmooommm the beer I was buying is sold one can at the time so a keg would not work.

I sold two hotel rooms today. Or rather little cottages. 2 will sleep 10 single sailors when they go to Orlando on a liberty trip.

Tomorrow or it’s today is Firday. Yay. Very busy week and I think I will irk 1/2 day on Sat just cause we are soooo busy. My car is in serious need of cleaning so that will happen this weekend if nothing else does.

Here’s hoping everyone has a great Firday and good weekend.

Swampy. pineapple sandwiches take me back. We ate them all the time when I was a kid. Banana sandwiches too. And tomato sandwiches and mayo sandwiches. Yep, kids will eat anything.

Up, caffeinated, off to work. Hockey after work.

Happy Friday, mumpers! I am leaving irk early today because I’m off on a little weekend trip to Germany to visit 'im indoors. In fact, I will be visiting his new “indoors” as he’s working over there for six months.

Other than that, nothing exciting going on here. I think that must mean it’s time to make more tea.

Doggio, my spice cupboard is a complete mess - are you coming round to sort it out for me?

When he let the dog out last night, **FCD **found a spot to measure the snow depth - 5.5", dammit! I was so sure we wouldn’t top 4" - shows what I know. My sweetie’s still in bed - no sense in trying to get out in the deep snow in the dark. I’m hoping the young guy with the plow will show up early so we don’t have to dig out ourselves. Especially since this is heavy snow and it’s only about 11° at the moment. ugh.

Later today my bandage comes off - YAY! Then I’ll get to wash my hair, which is good. My whole head is feeling itchy. I may even be motivated enough to clean up a bit in the house. I started the day by emptying the dishwasher of the load I ran last night - go me! I should dust and vacuum…

But until **FCD **wakes up and we decide what next, I’m going to surf.

Snow sucks.

Winter sucks.

Happy Firday anyway!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 38 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 55 and sunny for the day. Decidedly cooler than Wednesday and yestiddy. However, I’ll take it over what some of y’all are goin’ through. Next week promises to be a rainy one accordin’ to the weather PTB.

Ok, that’s all I got for now. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. I shall head over to the church house after irk to be head chef for the big fish 'n fries event tonight. Gonna be a loooooooooooooooong day for da bear!

Happy Firday Y’all!

Well, that was great fun! **FCD **and I cleared the driveway along the 2 tire tracks from when he came home last night, along with the accumulation the street plow deposited at the end of the driveway. Then I cleared around the mailbox and my sweetie went to work. I’ve got $20 standing by for when the plow guy shows up, and if he’s not here by mid-afternoon, I’ll just get out there with the shovel and be done with it.

I also shoveled a little bit in the yard, knocked the accumulation off a few of my azaleas, and shoveled the steps to the deck and about half of the deck. The sun is out, and I’m hoping it’ll start to melt things, even tho the temp isn’t supposed to get out of the 20s today.

Here’s hoping this is the last of the damned snow!!

Have I mentioned that I hate you lately?
:dubious:

Guess it’s my turn to be the hate sink :D. It’ll be about a week before daily highs are below 70.

It’s 16° and I worked up a bit of a sweat out there. Just got a call from my sweetie - he said the roads are really icy. I expect by this afternoon, they should just be wet. We’re promised mid-40s tomorrow and low 50s on Sunday with lots of sun - that should go a long way towards melting stuff away!

We are now just at the point of sleet and freezing rain now and then. It’s gross. It’s March. Spring is almost here…
