The Spring into Spring MMP

**Meeks **- is a comment to HR out of the question? That guy sounds like a major-league ass.

I’m being thrust back into pioneering days - my microwave died!!! I found a replacement and ordered it, but it won’t arrive till maybe Monday. Whatever am I gonna do??? <pose of woe and despair>

I put in a cup of water to heat for tea, and I heard a strange “ping” sorta sound, and then it made a louder than usual humming noise. After 3 minutes, the water was still cold. I had to resort to a pan on the stovetop!!! How barbaric!!!

It’s funny - I was just thinking that we put our appliances in just over 10 years ago and I was wondering what the lifespan of each one was. Our fridge has been making weird noises on and off for years, but it still keeps stuff cold, so it’s still here. The top rack of the dishwasher is starting to rust away in the back, and it’s no longer made, so I can’t buy a replacement rack. I hesitate to say that the stove is still doing OK…

I ordered it thru KMart - it’s the same one at the same price as Lowe’s, but it’ll be in at least a week sooner than Lowe’s said. So we shall see. In fact, as I was writing this, I got an email saying it might arrive by Firday! WOOHOO!!

Meanwhile, no nuking for me. Can I manage??

Take ½ of a baby aspirin; this should move it back a bit, behind your nose. Get a tissue & blow…hard. There, headache gone. :stuck_out_tongue:

Meeks, your SO should definitely go to HR. That is verbal harassment and a law suit waiting to happen. If not a law suit, then a tongue lashing from HR.

I stayed home for irk since it is sleeting and freezing rain and I am not driving in hazardous conditions. Am irking though since I can do lit searches from home. I’ve had sinus congestion for the past several days. It’s either lingering cold or a sinus infection that won’t bloom.

Think I will have homemade chicken Parmesan for dinner with my cheese puff sticks from Sunday.

I remember when they gave babies aspirin. Then a classmates slightly older sister developed Reyes syndrome, and no more children with aspirin…

I will pass it on to him. It’s just disgusting how ignorant people is, eh?
About the microwave: even if you cook almost every night, like we do, when you lose your microwave you realize just how dependent on the thing you are! It’s really hard.

Rub two wodden spoons together.

Memo: If the microwave begins making funny noises, do not go over and peer closely at it. :dubious:

Gather up all the cell phones in the neighborhood, call each other on then, and encase your food in them? Wait - that may give your food brain cancer before it cooks it. Fall back is contact some relatives of mine in the Georgian Military - rumor has it they have some odd nukes laying around somewhere. Wait – that’s “Fallout” and not “fall back”. Nevermind.

Up and considering making some more peppers and sausages for dinner. Hope to hear some good news on Beloved Brother when I get home from work.

Time to shut everything down and pack to go.

My mother is anxious for us to get there, I don’t want to go at all.
My stomach is churning, my head hurts.

Meeks if I were there I’d probably already told the office bully to stuff it, I can be quite the bitch much to the shock/embarrassment/amusement of my friends/family/co-workers. I’d be the one heading to HR to bitch because he is creating a hostile work environment. Even if I’m not the target of the bullying I still don’t want to hear it and since I can’t walk out of work to get away from it, it has to stop.

I think most people don’t say anything because they don’t like confrontation. I’m sure most of your SOs co-workers don’t like it either but are uncertain how to stand up to him.

Yeah, I would have said something too, but he is not as forward as me about it. I don’t like ethnic jokes or “sleeping around” jokes and I have spoken up about both of them.

But his office is terrible anyway. :frowning:

This made me laugh!!

I think the one who may suffer most is Higgs - we usually warm her wet food ever-so-slightly after we take it out of the fridge. On the other hand, she inhales it so fast, she probably won’t notice! Idiot dog.

It’s so quiet in here since I’m not running the pellet stove. We’ve got 2 bags of pellets left and a VERY cold night coming up, so I’m rationing them till then. The quiet is weird…

Your microwave obviously failed after exposure to dog cooties.

I think my dog had a seizure.

I’m not sure, he was sleeping, let out a yelp, got really stiff and rolled on his side.
It only lasted a second then he rolled over on his belly and looked a little confused.
A few minutes later he was up walking around and wanting to go out. Now he is his normal self, bumming for some treats.

This is the second time in a few months but last time he was close enough for me to put my hand on his head and as soon as I touched him he was okay.

I guess we need to go to the vet.

Good thoughts to you and your big bro, ruble.

Mika, your SO is working in a hostile work environment. Somebody has to let HR know that shit has to stop yesterday.

Just a day too nice to be at irk. Tomorrow, we are supposed to have :eek:snow:eek: again.

’mika, sorry your SO has to deal with that. Add another vote in the “say something to HR” column, because obviously saying anything to the asshat would be lighting a fuse.

I am anaphylactically allergic to aspirin. Taking half a baby aspirin would give me breathing problems, to say the least.
FWIW, the headache disappeared after coffee was ingested.

I woke up on my own today. No alarm, no screaming kids, no nagging wife. I slept until I was done and opened my eyes and started the day. I don’t remember the last time I was able to do that and it was really nice.

Not only did I not sleep till I was done, I woke around 2AM certain that the alarm had gone off. I lay there wondering why my husband wasn’t getting up. Lucky for him. I looked at the clock before I woke him.

Back with my car. The rain has started and it’s really miserable. Not freezing yet, but it will! Hope it doesn’t get too nasty overnight - I need to be at the Dr’s office for my appointment at 8. It’s not supposed to go below freezing, so we should be OK.

Well, if you took ½ the baby aspirin, while you were panickedly trying to breath you would have forgotten all about the headache. See, it would’ve worked. :dubious:

**Spidey **- don’t quit you day job. :stuck_out_tongue:

I used to do that quite often.

I quit my new course this morning because it was looking a lot like I’d just be re-learning stuff I’d already learned several times. Didn’t want to do that every week for the next 6 months, so I just bailed. So now I plan to fill my days with job-searching. Yes, I already have a music arranging job, but it can’t support me full-time.

Gotta work on my CV and stuff today.

Poor doggie, Sahirnee.
I do have some good news! I had a phone interview and I impressed the heck out of him. Now I have an in person interview on Thursday! Woot!
