The Spring into Spring MMP

Yay, Meeks!! Fingers crossed!! What’s the job (if you’re not afraid of jynxing it.)

Why yes, I am poking around in someone’s Instagram page instead of getting work done on my CVs. Procrastination level: high (which is usual for me.) Hey, I downloaded my CVs already (from an email I sent myself) so there’s some of the work done already. Still need to update the CVs and translate them. Maybe if I get a little more work done, I can do some more Instagram poking.

Sahirrnee I hope Sah-dog will be all right.

Finished work on my CVs for now. And while poking around on Instagram, I found this amusing pun-filled picture. (Safe for work - it’s a guy holding a doughnut.)

Man, you are bored.

Poor baby, cold, bored Canadian!

It’s a combination admin/tech support position. I went back to school and got a degree in IS last year, but the exclusive tech positions require a ton of experience and LOTS of knowledge. It’s actually kind of frustrating and must be even from real IT techs; they want you to know every program under the sun, have certifications, and also not pay you an equivalant amount.

So I started looking into admin positions that had a higher level of responsibility, now that I have a degree, and that’s what this is.

I just want a decent job with decent wages that I can work hard at! I’m not looking to be CEO of anything!

Blurf.

Still all lurgied up, but now I look and sound ill (note- for pity’s sake stoopit spellcheck, stop auto correcting “ill” to “I’ll!”- you managed blurf, what’s wrong with actual English?!) as well as feeling crappy.

Went to the library anyway, and the supermarket, 'cos I had a book due back and the supermarket’s next door and has ice cream.

It’s not really a party until the cops show up, right?

We were having a party at the house on Saturday, and there was a sharp knock at the door. Seems there was a call to 911 from our address, but the caller hung up, so the police were sent to investigate. We think kids were playing with one of our rotary dial phones and accidentally dialed 911. Oops!

I forgot to mention the best part.

House full of Rennies having a good time, cops show up unannounced. Some wit has to yell out “The stripper is here!” Once they saw the other cop hanging back in the driveway with their hand on their gun, they realized it wasn’t strippers.

Today is a banner day.

It is the first day since December that I don’t have to wear shoes all the times. I don’t have to switch my inserts in between shoe pairs anymore either. They get to live in my irk shoes full-time.

I’m lounging around wearing fuzzy pink slippers and it’s fabulous!

Howdy from da cave! I survived irk and instead of goin’ out for Chinese commestibles, OYKW picked up some Moo Goo Gai Pan, aig drop soup and aigrolls from the good Chinese place. ‘Twas nummy. I still say Moo Goo Gai Pan sounds like it should be made from baby cow. He’s gone to the sto’ for ice cream cause I want ice cream. Ok, he wants ice cream too. He wanted it more than me hence he went to the sto’.

Nuts feel better soonest!

sari hope sah-dawg is feelin’ better.

Meeks glad the interview went well. Appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed re the in person interview. I also think SO should take that to HR.

ruble prayers and good thoughts headed out to BB.

rio LTNS!

gotti did they take their clothes off anyways? I mean, they were already there and apparently stripper cops were expected.

spaz furry pink slippers? Sounds like somebody’s ready for a trip to :eek:Wally*World:eek:

flytrap, I wasn’t bored at all. I had a blast looking at the dude’s Instagram page. Maybe my small mind is just easily amused.

At least it’s supposed to be above freezing tomorrow. I promised myself I’d eat ice cream outside when it was above freezing, so I may have to venture out to the ice cream store. Maybe while I’m there, I can see if anyone in the area is hiring.

Good luck in finding employment!

Thanks.

Well, I just got some money from my music arranging job, so that was nice.

And ice cream!

I shall now betake myself to the bedroom where teevee watchage and snugglege shall commence.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

WTG, Mika! Fingers crossed for you.

Hope you feel better soon, nuts.

Yay, spaz!

I irked, I came home. Sesame beef and veggies over basmati tonight with a tangerine for dessert.

Time to recline. I’ll be back after I get my scalp hacked and sewn tomorrow morning. MWAH!

Details of the procedure?

Hugs for the doggie. I prefer dogs to most people I know. Sounds like a good question/time to ask a vet.

Brother made it through surgery and is doing well at this point. Had one of those moments at work that would gray my hair if I had more of it left; I was at the one sort slide position and saw the one manager walking over to me. First thought was something went bad and the wife called work to let me know. Actually he just wanted me to help the people on Line B scanning. But for a moment there I had a few seconds of panic. Time for a few fingers of home-brew and a beer.

snerk Where do you think I got the slippers? They’re more ballet flat slippers than big pink and fluffy. I have a black pair, too.

I am so glad I got voted out of the writing contest (now officially going on for one full year!) several months ago. There is even more, pettier drama going on over stupid shit. These people are so ridiculous. The contest itself it fun, though, if you ignore all the !!!DRAMA!!! that people manufacture. Actually the !!!DRAMA!!! itself is pretty fun, too if you watch from the sidelines like I do.

Seriously, I’ve never seen people get so worked up over a spreadsheet.

I just bought a pair of K-9 slippers. I’ll share a pic when they arrive

A couple of chicken wings are baking in the toaster oven for dinner. I’m having dessert first while I wait – I haven’t had store-bought eclairs (or any other kind) in soooooo long. Yum!

Bus fare is $2.50 for a couple hours, or five bucks for the day. The buses don’t give change - it’s exact cash only, or the smartphone app - and since I didn’t have the app cued up yet this morning, but did have a fiver on me, that’s what I used, figuring hey, I gotta get back home after work, right? Except the evening bus had a broke fare box, so anybody can ride no matter what, and then I just barely missed my transfer and would have had to sit 45 minutes for the next one so I just walked home from the transfer station (I get back around the same time as I would if I waited around, plus I figure all exercise is good exercise) and am slightly peeved that I could have saved myself the afternoon fare. pout

Silver lining was that as I was walking past the nearby strip mall, I saw a familiar face in a store window. A buddy of The Other Shoe (they used to work together) now works at a nearby tattoo parlor!! Neat!! TOS was always quite fond of the guy, too. Plus, almost nobody from my pre-widowhood days has seen or even knows about the little tattoo I got, so I’m excited to tell him I got one and to show him.

Toaster oven just beeped. Wings are done. Let the face-stuffing commence!
