The Spring into Spring MMP

I really need to go to bed. Busy day tomorrow, beginning at 0500 and not concluding until after 2030. I’m revving up. Hopefully, half a Unisom clone will do the trick (a whole one would leave me dangerously foggy for a day that includes a lot of driving).

Linguine with Knorr pesto sauce packet for dinner. I thought breaking the noodles in half before dropping into the water would make things easier, but nope. Too short to wind around a fork, too long to slurp without being awkward. :smack: Oh well, still tasty. Leftover pasta will be fried with bacon and onion tomorrow, perhaps for breakfast.

It’s started sleeting and snowing but is supposed to warm up a bit tomorrow, so I do believe that work will decide upon a late opening and, frankly, I shall be arriving late no matter what their decision. I’m getting a bit burnt out, and may quite possibly take the day off as a [del]Fuck It[/del] Mental Health Day, but am most certainly planning to bum around my home tomorrow morning for a while. While eating bacon-fried pasta.

My favorite season is Fall, followed by Spring. Fall because of my birthday and because of the turning leaves and changing colors, they’re so pretty. Spring because everything is new again and pretty green and other colors. Winter is my least favorite time of year, although it may have been one of the most favorite when I was a kid, for a few years at least. Kids love snow and sledding and ice skating, older adults, not so much, especially if you’ve fallen a couple of times on the ice!

I’ve been a bit absent of late, I’ve somehow gotten all topsy-turvy. LOL Having trouble sleeping at night, so asleep during the daytime and up at night. It may take a few days or more to switch back around, and I haven’t been the best about computer using at night. Hehehe, I used to do much computering at night, but no more. It doesn’t help me much that some days seem to run one day right into the next! Thank heavens that the newspaper runs the food section on Wednesdays. At any rate, I am still around and I probably spend more time on Facebook–my brothers and cousins some of them seem to use it as their preferred communication method!

Why can’t I sleep? It’s after 2 am and I have to be at work in a few hours. Speaking of irk it is so busy. Lots of snowbirds here and I guess Spring Break is starting in.

I love me some potlikker. Mama used to make a doughy like ball we called dodgers and put in the potlikker. Corn squeezins be good too.

My favorite season is fall I think. Of course I live on a subtropical island so our weather is always warm. Even when it’s cold to me it is still warm.

I sold a Disney Vacation today so I probably earned my salary in commission. I am enjoying the travel sales business so far. I just don’t have enough time with my regular job to devote to it. I ordered up a bunch of cruise brochures and am thinking about specializing in cruise sales vice all of it. The commissions are better with cruises and I have sold them in the past so I am not totally in the dark about what I’m doing.

I have turned one end of my office (I call it my room cause I feel like I live there) into a mini travel agency. I put up a slatwall and have all the collateral hanging on it. I bought me a world map and hung it on the other wall. I am slowly and finally getting registered I.e. Log ons and passwords for many different travel websites. I put cruise posters up in the rest of the building.

Last year at irk was a record breaking sales year and as of now I am already about 75k above year to date. Unbelievable.

I took my car today for its 20,000 mile service. I had to go shopping for a colleague as she lost her govt credit card. Not lost but had it taken away because she couldn’t follow the rules. Anyway, I bought $680 ish dollars worth of beer today. It was 21 cases. Almost a pick up full.

Ok. Just rambling now with my sleep deprived self. Hope everyone has a great rest of the week and a relaxing and peaceful weekend. Can’t get here soon enough.

Chow.

**Butters **- if you’re buying all that beer, wouldn’t it have been more cost effective to get a keg??? Just askin’.

Good morning! It’s raining, but the nasty stuff could start any time. As soon as it lightens up a bit, I’m going to head out for the few items I need. I was going to go to WalMart, but looking at my list, I can get the stuff at CVS - it may cost a bit more, but by the time you account for gas and having to contend with traffic heading to the base, it doesn’t make sense. So I’ll just hit Leonardtown. I may even go to the cafe on the square for breakfast, just because. I’m feelin’ like sweet potato pancakes - yum!

The rest of the day will be spend doing laundry. My basket is overflowing, and I expect FCD’s is also. Between today and tomorrow, I should get it all done. And I’ve got $20 standing by for the guy with the plow. Hope he shows up!

Speaking of WalMart, you should have seen the stylish shower cap I wore - I took a WalMart bag and knotted one side. It fit over my head and my bandage nicely, so I didn’t have to fret about getting the top of my head wet while I showered. No pic - no one needs to see me in the shower… :stuck_out_tongue:

Happy Thursday!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 68 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 74 and rain, especially this afternoon and evenin’. Then we shall have a cool down. Tomorrow’s high is expected to be 52 Amurrkin. :dubious:

I have a slight change of plans re fish ‘n chips. I had planned to take tomorrow afternoon off from irk, but that ain’t gonna be. So, I shall take a couple of hours this mornin’ to go get stuff and take it over to the church house. Matter of fact Ima go do that first thing then go into irk. I shall take off an hour earlier tomorrow to go start preppin’ and cookin’. That’ll work out. I think.

spaz my normal response is usually to take to the faintin’ couch while I clutch my pearls, but that was such an egregious statement it called for bed, valium, and gin 'n tonic.

red no corn bread with the potlikker alas. However, the pineapple sammiches made up for the lack of corn bread.

Ok, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy is hongry. Then, alas, purtification for irk and early mornin’ grocery sto’ shoppin’ must commence.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

ETA: MOOOOOOM you fashion maven, you!

I’ve got a load of jeans in the washer and I just popped a Percocet. Will I wake in time to put the jeans in the dryer?? Stay tuned to find out!

I want to go out tonight but it’s bloody cold out again. At least during the weekend, when I definitely will be going out, it’ll be a bit warmer.

Heavy (for us) overnight snowfall. Office delayed opening until 10, officially, but I don’t think I’ll be making an appearance before noon. That bacon and pasta aren’t going to fry themselves up, you know. Besides, I just don’t wanna.

Popping in again to say that Punxsatawney Phil is going to be turned into ground hogmeat and made into sausage. (Thanks to Bob and Ray for that joke!) The furry little fucker is going to die!

I woke up feeling somewhat lousy. Not lousy enough that I would stay home normally, but lousy enough that I wasn’t going to go out in this stupid snow. And the sprog has a snow day anyway, so I’m also taking a snow day. It’ll be nice to spend the day being annoyed by the sprog and to cuddle with the girls and to get caught up with stuff.

I just got an email from March 2015 Healthy Livi…(ng Newsletter), titled, “New options for colon cancer testing”. I flipped it to junk mail
but then realized it’s actually from the American Cancer Society.

Ya think they might want to put ACS in the From box to not make it look like ridiculous spam. :smack:
I wonder how many other people deleted it w/o even looking at it.
Swampy, speaking of southern-style food my SO made corn fritters the other night. Oh they were good! I love corn stuff though.

Interview went well. Crossing my fingers. Please hire me!

I need something to do this weekend. Cabin fever is killing me. Suggestions?

Up, and caffeinated, working closing shift tonight. It’s 64 and drizzling right now.

How bout a pic with you in your shower cap, mumu and pink Crocs?

Now That’s a beer run. And congrats on the cruise sales.

Meeksyou could alphabetize your spices.

Nah. Just leave the spices all willy-nilly and come in here to brag about it all. It makes doggio nuts!

Fish 'n chips shoppage has been accomplished except for one thing. I forgot the oil. :smack:

Doggie that is extra extra funny because my spices are on a Lazy Susan rotating thingamabob. How fun would that be! “Ok, they’re all in order wait don’t rotate it damn!”

I don’t have a muu-muu, but I do have a fuzzy blue robe and purple slippers…

The rain has turned to sleet - I am sooooooooo glad I ran my errands early. The percocet is making me really tired. As soon as the timer goes off, I’ll, get the jeans out of the dryer, throw the towels in, and maybe take a little nap. I’m starting to feel like a zombie. Better living thru chemistry…

Oh, the Horror…

-Joseph Conrad

Read some, retained little. Hope everyone is doing well. I’m sitting around at the office as the incoming weather is making it impossible to get any work done. I’ll probably blow through the rest of my phone’s data for the month today.

I have suddenly come over quite faint. And this so soon after Swampy’s last outing with the gold lamé hotpants and boob tube. Really, it’s more than my tender sensibilities can stand.

You envy my fuzzy blue robe and purple slippers??
