Wait… Taters hubby went to the sto’ for you and all he got for your guests to eat was celery and onions? I know… he’s buckin’ never to be sent to the sto’ again, right?
Glad to hear that Nat is doing better. Hope there’s more sleep happening at the Lissars this week.
That’s terrible, BooFae. Hope the passports are replaced quickly. But, yeah, there’s nothing quite as annoying and disconcerting as a break-in.
Baby rattle snake? :eek::eek::eek:
Long day, but lots of fun. Meeting at the park went well, then it was off to a friend’s for a mosaic workshop. I made a lazy susan that turned out very cool. Totally different design than I would have thought, but I really like it. Pictures will be in the next MMP. I’m thinking I’ll host, if that’s OK with everyone. I have the day off and have an idea…
Have been hanging out watching basketball. Kentucky and UConn looks like it’ll be a really good game.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN Ok, been up a while but still yawny. On a positive note, I am not near as sore and achy as I thought I’d be. Go Me. 'Tis 46 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 84 today. Spring done definitely Sprung in South Jawja.
I was banned from singin’ this last night after about an hour of it.
I’ve never had one of those threaten to bite me.
Ok, that’s all I got. Need to figure out some substance to feed rumbly tummy. Since it’s brunch Sunday I’m thinkin’ cereal, milk, toast and strawberry preserves will keep it happy this mornin’. OYKW was pleased to see I bought Raisin Bran cause it’s his favorite cereal. It must be he eats it every mornin’ at his place.
We spent most of yeasterday out and about. I took the dogs to the dog park, then we attended a fundraiser BBQ cookoff for The Humane Society, with all three dogs! It was fun! It was at a biker bar we go to sometimes. We ate pulled pork sandwiches and drank a few brews, while listening to a series of live bands. We bought raffle tickets, but didn’t win anything. The best part was the interaction between all the dogs!
Swampy, sorry you got skeered of the snake. I like snakes, myself. But I definitely have a healthy respect for poisonous ones! Did I show y’all the picture of me with a friend’s boa constrictor last week? Here.
Today is grocery shopping and laundry day. Oh boy.
Argh. Gnat’s pretty much better, so Mr. Lissar got the flu yesterday and TomKitten threw up all over the bed at 6 a.m. I was cleaning up the bathtub where Mr. Lissar puked at 10 and the bed where TomKitten puked at 6. Going to be a long day.
Well, that was the night from hell. I fell asleep easily enough, then had all kinds of bizarro dreams - like the one about the wedding in one of the conference rooms at work… or the one where someone stole our white Corvette (we’ve never owned a white 'Vette)… or the one about the giant cat that was walking on my pillow… I kept waking up after each of these, plus a couple more, from about 2AM on. I finally got out of bed at 8, but I feel like crap, and my throat is still sore. Dunno if it’s the start of a cold or if it’s allergies.
The only plan for today is to take our trash to the convenience center. I might go outside and rake a bit. Or not. We shall see. At least it’s sunny and pretty out.
Oh, and I cast my vote for Sir Vesa - cracked me up!
No he came back with other stuff too. He would have been dead meat if that’s all he brought! The celery and onions, along with some dried apricots and craisins went into the wild rice mixture I prepared and cooked in chicken stock. I also added some seasoning.
The dinner turned out well and everyone enjoyed it. We played 99 and the Taters household kicked ass! I won the first two hands and my husband won the last hand.
I’m sorry you had such a crappy night, FCM.
Li-Li, I hope Tom Kitten and your hubby are doing a little better now. You just can’t catch a break.
We had breakfast at a place that just started offering Sunday brunch. It wasn’t bad, but a very limited menu. And it was a tad pricey. I expect we’ll go back occasionally, just for variety. Assuming their breakfast menu lasts.
**BBBobbio **mentioned upthread running into us at WalMart yesterday, and he told me about a place he’d had breakfast that morning that we’d not heard of. Turns out it was a place we’d had dinner years ago and we decided it was overpriced and not that good. It’s now under new management and a new name, so we’ll have to check it out. Oh, and we agreed yesterday that I was stalking him, even tho he approached me.
Trash and recycling has gone. I think I may don a grubby shirt and go play in the studio for a while. I still feel lousy, so I don’t think I’ll go outside. Too bad tomorrow is a work day - it’s gonna be warm and pretty. Stoopit work.
Up, packed, been for brekkie and the really goooooood diner place and now I am getting ready to head to the airport to begin my marathon travel few weeks. Off to Tulsa I go!
LiLi…man I hope everyone picks up healthwise and starts to feel better soon!
I just spent some time in my studio. I glazed a few pieces and reconstituted some clay - I had 4 or 5 pieces that were not good at all, so I stuck them in a pan of water. In the next day or so, I’ll knead it all into a uniform clay that I can use again. But for now, I think I’ll find something on TV or Netflix and chill. **FCD **is napping, daughter is hanging with friends, so I’ll just zone out… good times.
Howdy Y’all! Today I have deheathenated, brunched, napped and been next door for cocktails. Neighbor invitated a few folks in bein’ as she just had new floorin’ installed and bought new livin’ room furniture. White furniture. She has a dog. IMO, not a smart move.
However, the three gin and tonics I had were perfect.
