I noticed that quite a few people here have animal based avatars or usernames and I’m curious how many there are of each species and what is the most popular, I suspect dogs. They’re very suspicious.

First cat reporting in. We to find dogs to be very suspicious.
The butterfly is the symbol of thyroid cancer, hence I use it for my avatar. Eight years cancer-free and counting!

The late Schooner is my current avatar. I have lots more cats to choose from, and a couple of horses, but I will probably stick with this one.

We recently had a thread on a closely- related topic which caused about a dozen long-time posters to change their various avatars to pictures of their cats. And only cats.
So whatever you find the score is now, know that the cats recently ran up their score by roughly a dozen.
Mine is Cisco, the sweetest cat to ever draw breath. He died of lymphoma at the age of 13 ten years ago, but we’ll remember him forever!
I am one who changed my avatar but just to a different picture of the same cat.
I’m a lazy retired drain on society, it was either cats or sloths and cat pics are easier to come by.

When the cat avatar thread came around, I changed my avatar from a beautiful but generic landscape to my handsome ginger tabby. I keep thinking that I need to change to a picture where he shows more cattitude but haven’t gotten to it.
@SoToasty sorry about your recent loss. Years ago, when my dog died, it took me quite a while to get used to not seeing her in her favorite spots around the house.
Maybe someone should start a dog avatar thread?
