The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making Part Deux (Part 1)

But I thought trump himself was getting tested every day??

Another thing trump said in the hannity interview made it sound like he’s starting to realize he might actually lose the election:

“The man can’t speak and he’s gonna be your president because some people don’t love me, maybe and all I’m doing is doing my job,”

Even though there’s a germ of honest acknowledgement there, I’d like to break that statement down because it’s still full of bullshit:

*“The man can’t speak…”
Talk about the pot calling out the kettle!

“…and he’s gonna be your president because some people don’t love me…”
WAHHHH! LOVE ME!!! what a baby.

“…and all I’m doing is my job.”
Seriously? You’re doing anything BUT your job.

:confounded:
I believe that the whole country should get access to health care, not just part of it.

Plus it’s awfully hard for the minority of voters to get the majority to notice what the GOP is doing to health care and perhaps change their vote. Meanwhile we pretty much have a health emergency RIGHT NOW. The election isn’t until November. We in Texas are stuck with Abbott right now anyway. No way to vote HIM out and the Dems put up a lackluster challenger in the last gubernatorial election.

Plus the GOP run states have rejected the Medicaid expansion for years now, so that’s your blue state money back already.

It’s hard for Trump to stay focused while Hannity is fellating him.

Call me clueless, but I don’t understand this post, so please 'splain it to me.

Is this irony or sarcasm? (The new board needs irony tags.) If so, okay. If it is neither, then what do you mean?

I understood that Obamacare refers to the entire Affordable Care Act, which, contrary to uninformed, popular opinion is NOT “government health care” (like they have in “socialist” :scream: countries) but a law that directs people to buy PRIVATE health insurance, much like laws that direct people to buy PRIVATE automobile insurance, and that the exchanges were virtual “places” to buy said private insurance.

If my understanding is correct, your post doesn’t make sense. If my understanding is incorrect and your post does make sense, then please straighten me out.

Thelma, it’s a joking reference to people with signs like these, in the original Obamacare protests:

Google Photos

I’m assuming he’s referencing someone saying “Keep your government hands off of my Medicare”. Um, Medicare is administered by the government - their hands are all over it to begin with. Ain’t no Medicare without government; ain’t no exchanges without Obamacare.

Thanks, y’all. Like I said, we need sarcasm/irony tags.

I’m at work but wasn’t there a clip of a person on the street literally saying, “Keep your damned government hands off my Medicare”? I think this would have been around the time of the original Obamacare deployment.

As do I. And I think that everyone should get healthcare regardless of their socioeconomic status as well, not just the rich and well off.

I am, but I am not sure that they are.

As much as I hate to see anyone getting their faces eaten by leopards, I’m getting tired of offering my own face as a chew toy to protect those who called the leopards down upon us in the first place.

JohnT’s post a few back…

ON THE WHOLE, the “blue” states pay more in federal taxes than they receive in federal benefits; ON THE WHOLE, the “red” states receive more in federal benefits than they pay in federal taxes, therefore the blue states are subsidizing the red states.

I am starting to wonder if Trump is trying to lose. I am sure he would rather go back to his old life, the only reason he would not want to lose is because of his ego. But he can blame it on fraud and fake news which undermined him. Then he can be an “expert” commentator on Fox and hold rallies all over the country.

Why on earth would anyone want to hear Trump speak at a rally, once the “jeepers! I’m seeing the POTUS, live!” factor is removed?

Ohhh… I suspect the little matter of likely pending charges necessitating arrest/trial/likely conviction/jail/prison term(s) may well have some bearing on his choice to continue running.

If he drops out – and there was open speculation about this possible occurrence this morning on MSNBC – I would expect him to flee the country to live out his days in some other country with no extradition treaty with the US.

ETA: Why do you think Barr is devoting so much time and energy to kneecap the SDNY?

Because he is a hero for people wearing MAGA hats. But maybe not rallies, smaller speeches. His cult isn’t going to just disappear right away. It will shrink pretty rapidly, but it’s going to take a while. He will be a martyr, the billionaire who lost money while President so he could save them from the commie Democrats.

No oversight, we don’t want no stinkin oversight

Only the best people work for President Agrajag* the Kumquat.

_
*(like Agrajag, he dies every week but never can seem to make his death stick)

Yeah, it’s not nice to call somebody worthless.

And that is absolutely fine with me! As I said, we’re all part of the same country. I would willingly pay more taxes to make sure everybody has health care, child care, whatever basics they need for a good life. Yes, I’m a socialist at heart. So sue me. :slightly_smiling_face:

New voter registration way down

Poll after poll showed a high level of enthusiasm for voting in the general election in 2020, and in the beginning of the year, voter registration surged to match that excitement. Then the COVID-19 pandemic hit. New registrations have fallen off a cliff.

Maybe this is what trump (or at least his team, which can probably concentrate long enough to form his devious plans for him) are planning on.

I just feel nervous because I’m sure he is going to try to orchestrate something to give him a boost right before the election a la Comey reopening the investigation into Hillary’s emails.
