The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making Part Deux (Part 1)

That’s probably part of it. I also read it as a sort of old-fashioned, siitcom-like, “I just want my husband out of the house for awhile” type of “joke.”

That’s still something the campaign should be co-coordinating/planning for, local police or not. They bused the people there, there should be a plan to bus them back.

Well, it’s 100% crystal clear who’s NOT to blame, had nothing to do with it, didn’t know about it, and is not sure what a bus is. See if you can guess.

They know what a bus is. It’s something you throw people under.

But if the story is true, it seems that they did have a plan to bus them back, and the buses were there; they just couldn’t make the trip back out to the venue to pick up more passengers after the first load, because the road was made one-way.

Look, I’m happy to blame Trump and his people for anything and everything bad, but there might be more to this story than simply, “Trump doesn’t care about his supporters.”

I’m sure there will be plenty of blame-casting over this event in the next few days. I’ll be interested to see what the Trump people have to say, and if they are happy to throw the local cops under the bus.

It does seem to have been a traffic issue but still, it’s not a good look.

Plus there was this: there were a number of ballot boxes set out at the rally that had initially been advertised as “official”. They were not.

Barf is right! It pisses me off that now, when we should be thinking about the reelection of the first female president, we’re all on the internet hoping that Joe Biden will win by enough of a margin that some guy with the emotional maturity of a toddler who’s missing his nap won’t destroy the country because his toy got taken away.

Oh, and I sure as hell won’t ever vote for Larry Hogan again.

They wouldn’t have so many hypothermia cases if they didn’t have so many thermometers.

:+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

Which is a failure of the plan. As usual, the left foot didn’t know what the right butt-cheek was doing.

Until this is verified by something other than the Trump campaign, I’m not putting any faith in it.

He keeps on attacking Gov. Whitmer at Michigan rallies. Also downplaying the threat of OVER A DOZEN PEOPLE WHO WERE ACTIVELY PLANNING TO KIDNAP AND KILL HER

“I mean, we’ll have to see if it’s a problem. Right? People are entitled to say maybe it was a problem, maybe it wasn’t,”

“It was our people – my people, our people that helped her out. And then she blamed me for it. She blamed me and it was our people that helped her. I don’t get it. How did you put her there?”

I mean, fuck this guy. This is insanity. Gov. Whitmer’s response in the Atlantic:

He doesn’t, but that’s not the point. The point is:

IOW just like the entire administration clusterfuck.

In my fund-raising career I put on a zillion events. (Nothing this big, granted.) You are supposed to think ahead to all the shit that might go wrong. Seems like consulting the local traffic authority should have been on the to-do list, eh?

After four years, I finally added “clusterfuck” to my computer’s dictionary. I sincerely hope I have less use for it in the future, but I fear that will not be the case.

Right now we’re just hoping enough votes get counted to elect Joe.

Trump holds rally; turns some of his supporters blue.

:+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

Well, yes, of course - Trump needed them for the rally, but once he was done he had no further use for them and did not care what happened to them. This is what the Trumpists don’t get - they are disposable. Trump views them as kleenex - have boxes of them around because you might need them, but when you’re done with them throw them away.

So… you’re telling me that the President of the United States, and/or his flunkies, couldn’t pick up a goddamned phone and fucking call the locals and say “Hey, assholes, let these buses get through to pick these people up”?

It still displays epic levels of failure to plan or give a fuck about constituents.

Yeah, if you can’t handle the logistics of a rally, then that doesn’t reflect well on your ability to run a country.

The only thing we have that there was any plan is a single statement from the White House, which has been known to bend the truth from time to time.

That there was not an effective plan is borne out by the actual events that took place.

Looking at the map of Eppley Airfield, I see that it is not some backwater strip with a single road, but that it has at least 3 roads feeding in and out of it. I’m not really buying the excuse.

But sure, Trump admin, blame your failures on the local cops, tell us how much you support law enforcement as you throw them under the bus.

Just thought of something. If all those buses were there waiting to take people back, why did the police have to call in local transit buses?

Good point.
