The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making Part Deux (Part 1)

So, who did have to pick up the tab for the bussses that they had to have come out to rescue these poor lost souls?

Taxpayers.

LOL yeah I should hold off on the big talk until I see what turns up in 2022. And it’s nice to bump into a fellow Marylander in the middle of all this.

This whole thing is just such a perfect metaphor for the whole Trump administration.

Including the part where the people that he betrays and leaves out in the cold will still support him.

I’d love to hear some interviews from the survivors of the Omaha rally.

I like the fact that he is speaking of his life in the past tense.

I’ll bet his dog ate his homework, too! Pitiful…

Nitpick: I’ve flown in and out of Eppley a few times and “three roads feeding in and out” may be technically correct but overstating the level of access. It’s actually quite a small airport and because of the geography of Carter Lake, high-volume access in and out is via Pershing Drive/Abbott Drive (in both directions) which is actually not very big at the point it passes the airfield. I’m just pointing out that, under the circumstances described for the rally, a traffic jam is easily achieved there. Which the police should have been well aware of.

(Also fun fact: Carter Lake is an oxbow lake, and that small area next to the airport is really part of Iowa despite being on the wrong side of the Missouri River and surrounded by Omaha.)

Which is something the crack team of event organizers disorganized mob of children on the Trump campaign should have recognized.

I’m sure they’d blame Democrat operatives who stole the buses to transport illegals to the polls.

Fair enough, I was just going based on what it looked like on the maps.

It does seem as though some level of coordination could have prevented the issue. We’ve probably spent more time here talking and analyzing the infrastructure of the area than the Trump campaign did.

Also doesn’t explain how transit busses called up from other areas managed to beat the ones that the Trump campaign claimed were stuck in traffic.

I’ve lost track of which thread it was posted in but it appears the Trump campaign didn’t pay the bus company so the drivers had left.

Here it is. Just upthread :smacks face:

So says a tweet by someone claiming to be associated with the bus company.

It fits in line with everything Trump, and fits with everything known about this situation, so I have no real reason to doubt it, but I’ll wait for corroboration of some kind before I consider it fact.

I’m sure the campaign can produce a badly Photoshopped receipt.

I’m with @k9bfriender here. I’m not a twitter user so I’ll ask: why would you link to an image of a tweet instead of linking to the tweet itself?

I want this to be true but I try to be skeptical of things I want to be true.

Where did all the attendees for this rally park? If it was at an arena, a fairgrounds, or even a school gym, wouldn’t it have been simpler to drive the president there instead of bringing busloads of people to an airport with such poor access?

Nah, I’m just kidding.

With “Paid” written on it with Sharpie.

He seems to like airport hangers.

You know, I think that every movie or TV show I’ve seen that had an airport hanger, they were up to no good.

I find it’s really hard to predict the absurdity of Trump supporters. This assumes they’d actually follow up on 4-year old crap.

‘The bus company confirmed Wednesday that those drivers were paid, deflating another incorrect rumor circulating on social media.’

The thing is… Trump’s reputation is such that the rumours are believable.
