The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making Part Deux (Part 1)

Neither cold nor heat can prompt Trump to cancel an “adore me” event but a bigger blowhard can.

He sees himself as a warrior in the crusade against “moral relativism” and “militant secularism”.

Florida’s hot. People don’t actually go out into it except to reach their cars, shops, restaurants. Standing on the tarmac in a parking lot requires more stamina than most geezers can manage for more than a few minutes.

O/T - Don’t tell me about Phoenix - no one lives there during inferno season. (Inferno Season - as close to being on fire as possible without melting your polyester).

It would mess up his “hair.”

Florida heat is also humid heat, which makes it harder for your body to cool itself, especially as you get older. I’ve been in both Florida and Arizona and while I don’t like either place that much I’d much rather have 87 degrees in Arizona than in Florida. At least in Arizona my sweat does some good.

How about Walter Shaub for AG? He used to head the government ethics office, and he has a sterling reputation.

I’m getting a severe, “getting way ahead of ourselves” vibes with cabinet suggestions. How about we vote him in first and then we start worrying about filling out the place cards.

I’m glad that I’m not in a situation where I have to make the difficult decision about whether to attend a Trump rally or not. On one hand, you might have to stand around in blistering heat to the point of passing out, or else suffer hypothermia in bitter cold, and possibly be abandoned without transportation and have to walk miles back to your car. And in all cases, you greatly increase the chances that you’ll catch COVID and die due to the preponderance of spittle-mouthed maskless acolytes with unorthodox ideas about hygiene. But on the plus side, you get to hear a bloviating lying asshole with the intelligence of a turnip. I admire those who can make such hard decisions, doubtless with the aid of carefully constructed risk/benefit models.

Even 100 degrees is easily tolerable if the humidity is way low. Florida ain’t that. There’s a reason it was named “Florida”, and I don’t think it was because of the flamingos there.

All this hypothermia and heat stroke? Fake news. The average temperature of a Trump rally is fine! Sad math!

So take hypothermia victims from Omaha and heat stroke victims from Florida in equal numbers, combine in a malfunctioning Star Trek transporter set to “blend” and all are well.

Another good choice. My only quibble with him is that I don’t believe he has any actual experience with the DOJ. Understanding their culture is pretty important, I think. Both Katyal and Bharara have DOJ experience.

That’s a really great piece. Thanks for pointing me to it.

Not too further the hijack into cabinet speculation too far (although I suppose I am), but I’ve been hoping to see Sally Yates as AG.

I agree. The vote needs to go our way, surviving court challenges, voter suppression, and other Republican ratfuckery; then the country as a whole needs to accept the results; then the electoral college needs to vote; then Biden needs to actually be inaugurated. I can’t think about a possible Biden cabinet right now, either.

For some of us, it’s cathartic.

Hopefully we will have a separate thread on this topic next Wednesday.

They always plan ahead, even before the election.
