I am having Trump-bashing withdrawal syndrome. So much time spent over the last years, worrying about what he was going to do, or not do. Waiting for that one thing that would lower his approval rating enough to ensure he would not be re-elected. But we did not win. And while there is still some concern about what stupid thing he might do until Jan 20, I just don’t know what that would be. A lot of worry is about COVID and Biden and his team not being given information, but there is no information for them to receive. There is no plan for distrubution of the vaccine, if we get one soon . As for foreign policy, we just heard today about Trump considering bombing Iran, but it didn’t happen. Is he going to withdraw the US from NATO? Easily reversed, just like Paris Climate Accord.
I have been following this thread for some time now, has it been two years already? Will have to look up to see when I first became a member. But we fucking won ! We did! In six months, I predict Trump will be completely irrevelent. Maybe he will have a hugely popular TV network (for about 2 months) or an online network. But those people are already in the cult . We will follow the multitude of lawsuits and criminal prosecutions of him and maybe his family. Will follow that gleefully, I hope they go to jail, or at least are fined millions. But that will be at least a couple of years from now, by then we wil have forgotten them
To get back to my first sentence, as a political junkie, what will I spend my time on going forward? A Biden Administration: A New Day for America, or The Biden Administration: Return to the Normacly of Neo-Liberalism? or
the Biden Administration: A Disapointment in the Making (Because of McConnell-led Rerpublican interference and/or wimpy Democratic support for progressive change). I’ll bet on the latter. I will always bet on wimpy Democrats. But if that becomes so, at the very least I will not be raging because we are going backward, but baecause we not moving forward.
I’m damned if I can figure it out. If I refer to a prior post whether my own or someone else’s, I think it would be more accurate to say, “So-and-so’s post number somewhere-in-the-neighborhood of…” because it’s always off.
I use the Vincent skin and figured it was just a little buggy. Is there some way to tell exactly which post # I’m looking at? I usually use the slider to the right of the post list.

The full depth of his corruption and criming, whatever antics he can drum up in his efforts to avoid prison, his dog-and-pony sideshows, the court cases he loses, his arrest(s) and those of his corrupt family members, the seedy details of his tax returns… shall I go on?
Hell, we’re still not done bashing bloody Nixon – and I was a nubile young thing when he was originally news. Nixon’s crimes were like baby steps compared to all that Trump has done.
Note the time-stamp at the upper-right corner of the post, telling either how old the post is or the date it was posted. Click on that. You not only see the post number, but you get a link to the post that you can copy to somewhere else.
I just noticed that that slider bar is worthless, isn’t it? It currently tells me I’m on 6558 of 6559, while in point of fact we are at something like 6570.
Thought it might be because my window has been open overnight, so reloaded. The address bar references post 6569 in thread 911083 (I’m assuming those are thread and post numbers), but the slider is still stuck on 6559.
ETA - this is post 6571, and the slider updated to 6560 of 6560.
I suspect that deleted posts are contained in the post count url found in the time, but the slider is only counting visible posts. So @Folacin’s post should be seen as visible post 6560 out of 6571 total posts.
Neither Trump nor his followers consider what he’s doing embarrassing – this is their big, tough hero fighting the good fight against the deep state/corrupt liberals/whatever. They love this, and it gives them an excuse to not accept the election results, or, if they must accept them, they can pretend it’s not because the majority of Americans voted against him, it’s because of voter fraud.
If it’s any comfort, 60 Minutes did an interview with General Gus Perna, the man in charge of vaccine distribution once one (or more) is approved and manufactured. He was in charge of logistics for the Army before being tapped for this, and he seems to be on top of it all.

He tries to prevent Inauguration Day from coming by various nefarious means, but he finds that “Inauguration Day Came … It came just the same!”
Yeah, and this is where the Bernistas were off the mark as well. TPP, like any trade agreement, probably had its flaws, but it also gave us some bargaining power with China. Not only is that bargaining power lost, but other countries - even those that are wary of China - are moving toward China and away from the US, and that probably includes Japan.
I’m sure this has been speculated on before, and I know it’s VERY unlikely he will face any prison time, however much he may deserve it, but what if private citizen trump did end up in prison-- how would his Secret Service protection work in that case, I wonder? Would a couple Secret Service agents have to be inside with him at all times, to make sure he doesn’t get shanked in the hallway? Or would the prison guards assume the protection duties of the Secret Service in that case?
To try to answer my own question, I’m guessing even if in the extreme case that he was actually imprisoned, it would be one of those very low-security country club prisons where getting shanked would be very unlikely. But most likely if he lost any degree of freedom it would be a house arrest situation.
Still, it’s fun to speculate on what an imprisoned trump situation would be like
