The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making Part Deux (Part 1)

Trump’s only protection from indictment was a Justice Dept guideline that a sitting president can’t be indicted – not that he had perpetual immunity for his actions as president. So (a) it was just a guideline, never tested in the courts and (b) he’s no longer a sitting president.

The major obstacle before was the mythology that “a sitting president can’t be indicted”, which remains untested and may or may not be true. But he’s no longer a sitting president, he’s a cowering ex-president. If a former president were not liable for crimes committed in office, there would have been no need for Ford to pardon Nixon. Nixon once declared, of his various shady dealings while in office, “it’s not illegal if the president does it”. He was as much mocked for that as for his “I am not a crook” comment, and deservedly so.

Ya gotta wonder why he paid Stormy so much, when there’s so many senators willing to do it for free.

Have you looked at 'em? If I had to choose between McConnell and Daniels I’d gladly pay $130,000 for the latter than the former for free.

If this thread gets autolocked at 10k doesn’t discourse automatically open a new one? The ride will never end!

I think there was some question over if and when this happens – it may have involved whether the original thread was already on-going from the vBulletin days or if the thread had been started since moving to Discourse. Anybody remember what was decided about that?

Discourse has a hard 10K limit. The mods tried unlocking SRIotD and TTAaCFitM, and others, I think, but they were unable to break past the limit. If a new thread links to the last post in the old thread, the link will appear in the last post. That seems to be the best we can expect unless Discourse is modified internally.

Mike Pence is homeless after leaving office and ‘couch-surfing’ with Indiana politicians, report says

While the headline implies Pence is down on his luck, it could be more of a security measure to obscure his actual location from angry MAGAts that still want to lynch him.

Too bad he isn’t truly homeless.
He might actually find a little humility and empathy. /s

That reminds me, I wonder how we can encourage MAGAts to have an endless pilgrimage to Mar-A-Fatso to see their hero? People around the ‘club’ are already pissed off that Trump plans on living there full time.

Since Trump isn’t in the Whitehouse at the moment, he can only issue pardons in person. So if you have an inconvenient weapons charge or a large debt, visit Trump and he’ll graciously pardon you. Of course, Democrat lawyers will bullshit you about the legality, but you’re smart enough to ignore them.

He’s going to be signing blank pieces of paper and talking on his phone that only connects with the outer office.

The question is: which child will take advantage of his declining mental condition and have the will changed to screw their siblings like he did.

He might have gotten re-elected had he done that while in office.

Actually, him doing stuff was the worst thing he could have been doing. Ever, quite frankly.

Is there going to be anything to inherit other than debts?

At this point the Trump name itself probably has a negative value…

You are seriously fooling yourself with this. I posted the article in another thread.

If he can get 10% of his 75 million followers to pay $100/year for a Motley Fool style weekly newsletter, that’s $750 MILLION per year. The first year alone pays off all the debt with money to spare.

If you’re willing to sell your soul (and lots of people are), Trump is a fucking gold mine right now.

That’s assuming whatever fuckup or grifter he hires to run the show does not either piss the money away or steal it first.
