It’s hard to guess what’s going inside that orange head but when I was reading an article about the TikTok ban, it noted that several American companies have been trying to buy the product. It occurred to me that Trump may be doing a favor for some business crony (probably in exchange for a substantial campaign donation) by cutting off China and driving down the price. Once an American company buys it, Trump can cancel the ban and the value goes back up.

I’m clearly not up to speed here. The President can permanently shut down any business he cares to by executive order, at any time, with no due process or legal recourse?

Very unlikely. Elections are held at the state level. It’s hard to imagine states will leave out that one election and hold the ones for their Representatives and Senators. There’s no rationale, legal or medical, for it being safe to do one but not the other. And states will want to hold onto their Congressional representation at the very least.
Hard to imagine any state, even heavily Republican ones, chopping their own legs off simply to pwn the libz or because Trump said ‘pwetty, pwetty pwease’.
How about: all elections take place on Nov 3, and Congress is elected (popular vote) without controversy. But the presidential race can’t be determined (electoral college) because of Reasons TBD.
That doesn’t change the fact that Trump and Pence are out on their ass on Jan. 20, 2021. Order of Succession kicks in.

Trump refuses to see who the problem figure is in his administration. Even when he bottoms out, it’s “people don’t like me” not “I’m doing a terrible job”. He’s absolutely convinced he’s great. The worst he can think of himself is that other people don’t understand his greatness.
So if there are problems, it must be due to somebody else who’s interfering with his greatness. Fire that person and remove the obstacle and everything will be prefect.
This means he blamed Parscale for the failure in Tulsa. And because he removed Parscale, he was sure that this rally in Tampa would be huge. The way a Trump rally is supposed to be.
I think we’re seeing this in Trump’s response to Covid19. He just keeps thinking this isn’t supposed to be happened to his Presidency. His Presidency is supposed to be perfect. In his mind, Covid19 should just go away.
