If someone actually got a firearm into the WHCD then the Secret Service is more incompetent than I thought.
I’m more inclined to believe they staged the whole thing to avoid letting him embarass himself on live TV while he’s sundowning.

Reports are still coming in, but what I had heard on MSNow is that eyewitnesses (journalists who were at the event) were saying that they thought the shots were being fired from outside the ballroom itself, at the metal detectors.

My apologies for not creating a WHC dinner thread as I intended. For the past week, VPNs around the world evidently have been iffy at best. Owing to my locale, such a thinng is required to keep up with news. And, yes, that’s why I haven’t posted in this thread for the past week.

You’re telling me a shirtless man with a gun can get access to a hotel when the president, vice president, secstate and secdef are present, while we’re at war with Iran? Come on, this is such a fucking joke
Watchig Trump giving his speech I could see that he was loving every moment of it, and loved the opportunity to talk about how great he is and how much he needs his ballroom/secret headquarters finished so that this won’t happen again. They were all so ready to go into action and seemed ready for this, so it’s very hard for me to believe that this wasn’t some kind of set-up.
If it isn’t, Trump is the master of taking advantage of the unexpected situation. It’s easier to believe that this was pre-arranged. They’re too damned sure the shooter is a “lone wolf”, and no one else is involved, and the situation is completely taken care of. Mix that in with this being the first Correspondent’s dinner he’s attended in years (and he knew attention would be on this event), and it’s very hard not to be suspicious.
I look forward to seeing evidence of actual live ammo being fired, like a bullet hole in a wall.
