The abrupt loss of funds this week surprised the professional pediatrician association, which has been one of the harshest critics of Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s changes to federal vaccine policy.

I’ve joked before about the felon turning the White House orange. It’s no longer a joke.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump has affixed partisan plaques to the portraits of all U.S. commanders in chief, himself included, on his Presidential Walk of Fame at the White House, describing Joe Biden as “sleepy,” Barack Obama as “divisive” and Ronald Reagan as a fan of a young Trump.

The additions, first seen publicly Wednesday, mark Trump’s latest effort to remake the White House in his own image, while flouting the protocols of how presidents treat their predecessors and doubling down on his determination to reshape how U.S. history is told.

“The plaques are eloquently written descriptions of each President and the legacy they left behind,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement describing the installation in the colonnade that runs from the West Wing to the residence. “As a student of history, many were written directly by the President himself.”

Okay, that last bit knocked me out of my socks. Student of history? Written by him? No way in Hell. Anyway, that’s some mighty tacky stuff.

Indeed, the Trumpian flourishes include the president’s typical bombastic language and haphazard capitalization. They also highlight Trump’s fraught relationships with his more recent predecessors.

Maybe the felon did write some of it.

And where does he think this money comes from?

Trump suggested that his tariffs — which are partly responsible for boosting consumer prices — would fund a new “warrior dividend” for 1.45 million military members, a payment that could ease some of the financial strains for many households. The amount of $1,776 was a reference to next year’s 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

“The checks are already on the way,” he said of the expenditure, which would total roughly $2.6 billion.

And what’s the most important thing for the felon about that rambling boatload of baffling bullshit?

After his speech ended and the video was no longer being broadcast, Trump turned to his gathered aides and asked them how his address to the nation went. The aides assured him it was great.

Trump then indicated that White House chief of staff Susie Wiles had told him he needed to address the nation. After some back and forth, he asked Wiles how he had done.

“I told you 20 minutes and you were 20 minutes on the dot," Wiles said.

In the spirit of Christmas, the felon issues more threats.

The 79-year-old boosted a message from a pro-MAGA account late Tuesday calling for the arrest of former Attorney General Merrick Garland and former FBI Director Chris Wray, adding, “And many others!!!”

This is not the first time the president has singled out Garland and Wray. Just weeks ago, he lashed out at the pair and other political enemies on Truth Social, calling them “a disgrace to our Nation.”

I guess the simpleton can remember something longer than a day. The quote says just weeks. I’m wondering if they dropped two from the copy.

Even the NY Post is hitting Killer Kennedy with some facts.

The New York Post editorial board has delivered yet another scathing rebuke of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

The Rupert Murdoch-owned tabloid, which has previously slammed vaccine skeptic Kennedy as a “paranoid kook” whose “tinfoil hat is blocking out all sense,” tore into the Trump Cabinet member for his war on what it called “one of the biggest public health wins of the last century: the widespread use of disease-eradicating vaccines.”

This is one of Trump’s baseless attacks and threatened prosecutions that I am having trouble getting upset with.

After the events of January 6th, Merrick Garland had one job in four years as Attorney General—to protect our democracy—and he treated it like business as usual, clearly not grasping the assignment.

I wonder if Garland would have made a better supreme court justice than attorney general…low bar I know.

Yeah, I’m with you there. Why did nothing happen in three and a half years (the last half was “well, it’s to close to the election, we can’t do anything.”)

It’s like either he was incredibly incompetent, or he was working for trump.

One thing I try to take some modicum of comfort in is that Trump is a miserable human being. He is angry and vengeful and never satisfied and full of hate. Nothing is enough and everyone is mean to him all the time. I am much happier than he is. I have enough to live a comfortable life and I have a close and loving family and friends and my health is decent. Not everything is perfect, of course, but I suspect I am far happier and more satisfied with my life than he is with his. He’s a parable of how, cliched as it sounds, money and power cannot buy happiness. And he deserves all the misery that comes his way and more.

P.S. And as pointed out here, the renaming is illegal. It was named the “John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts” by act of Congress, and Trump’s handpicked board does not have the power to rename it.
