bump:
Lying has a critical relationship with the truth- specifically that it’s intentionally trying to obscure it , detract from it, confuse it, etc…
Here’s the thing, Donald J. Trump clearly tries to oscure, detract, or confuse things because he does care about the truth. His manipulation of his own financial records for years just so he would appear on Forbes’ list of wealthiest people in America is an example of his deliberate effort to obscure the truth. Donald might be a bullshitter, but he’s an inveterate liar who also lies for the same reason other liars lie.
Or if he described her as big and burly.

Trump is speaking in Alaska tonight, so let’s check in and see what’s on his mind as he (clutches earpiece) yes, yes I’m being told that he’s tweeting videos of big cats mauling people.
Old MacDonald had a farm (which he almost lost because of fertilizer shortages and the price of diesel):
Economy
Inflation
Epstein
Iran
Overwhelming corruption
With a distraction here
And a distraction there
[you know the rest]
Could be worse; she could call him “daddy”.

In keeping with the fauna theme of the felon’s xit so-called truth post, I’d go with:
With a distraction here and a distraction there
*Here an Epstein, there a Qatari plane, everywhere a SQUIRREL!
As we know, that works for him.
Very curious if Donald and Kegsbreath will back down from the execution livestreaming, or if they’ll hideously dig their heels in, with more idjit rationalising like “the more people who see it, the better it is” along with moronic mangling from the likes of the Book of Genesis. So far Vance and Johnson are the only two GOPs who have gone on record, so far, to speak out against it. (I wonder if Thom Tillis would’ve spoken out against it if he wasn’t retiring.)
Unicorn-wishing, perhaps, for more and more GOPs speaking out against this atrocity over the coming weeks, and for someone with sense (as well as being prepared to be doused in ketchup) to whisper in Donald’s ear that another 9/11 might result from this livestreamed bad idea.
With further dreaming, imaging that this could potentially result in the biggest schism the GOP will face.
Did Vance and Johnson come out against the livestreaming? Best I can tell they just said they wouldn’t watch.

Johnson used weasel words about some of his colleages being concerned but didn’t venture forth his own opinion.

I am hopeful. It’s not a feeling I often have when thinking of politics in the mid 2020s, and I’m sure the feeling is destined to be brief, so I’ll enjoy it while it lasts.
As Trump was making the gaffs and concocting the word salad Smapti brought us (Thank you, Smapti!) some 300 of us lined the highway about 3 miles away. (And thank you for the acrostic suggestions, all !)
It’s a busy road, and thousands of cars went by during the hours I was there. Among all those cars I only counted 28 middle fingers and about the same number of thumbs-down signs. Here in this reddest town of a right-wing red state, the thumbs-up signs we got, the friendly waves and even clapping vastly outnumbered the negative reactions.
Could it be possible? Could people actually be starting to see through this demented, narcissistic con man ?

As a (former) life long Republican, I voted for Hillary in 2016 because I didn’t believe Trump was qualified to be president. Every time he spoke domestic or international policies it was clear he didn’t know what the fuck he was talking about. I won’t pretend that I knew just how corrupt Trump truly was nor could I predict how bad of a president he would turn out to be.
In 2024, I believe most of Trump’s followers understood he was a venal, serial lying rapist. They knew exactly who he was and voted for him anyway. The problem for Trump supporters is they’re getting fucked alongside everyone else.

No, that’s not what he likes. “Big Daddy” is what he brags about being called.
The felon’s not sure if Guilfoyle had a relationship with his son.
President Donald Trump has distanced himself from his son’s ex-fiancée, Kimberly Guilfoyle , after pushing her out as U.S. ambassador to Greece following her funds-for-access scandal.
Trump’s new press secretary, Katie Zacharia , announced in her first press briefing Tuesday that the president asked Guilfoyle to resign , saying, “She has been a wonderful asset to the team, and we wish her well.”
It comes less than a week after news broke that Guilfoyle reportedly pleaded with a Trump donor, who was seeking access to the president, for $100,000 to pay off her American Express card . Guilfoyle has fiercely denied the allegations against her.
When asked about the misconduct allegations, the president said he “didn’t like what we were reading.”
“On Kimberly Guilfoyle, she was almost a member of your family. How surprised were you to learn about these allegations?” a reporter asked Trump.
“No, she wasn’t a member of my family. She, I guess, dated my son a long time ago,” Trump replied. “She went to Greece, she was doing a good job, but we didn’t like what we were reading.”
Guilfoyle and Trump Jr. were reportedly engaged for nearly four years until they called it quits in late 2024, shortly after his father won the presidency for the second time.
Engaged to his son for four years, yet he had to guess if they dated.
This is not a person with a functioning brain.
But I did enjoy this comment from Guilfoyle:
True allegations, though, are quite another matter.
Crime committed in front of the felon and he mocks the victim.
A heckler wearing a “Release the Epstein Files” shirt was punched in the face by an apparent supporter of President Donald Trump during a rally Monday in Youngstown, Ohio, before the president mocked the protester’s weight.
Trump was criticizing Ohio Democratic Senate candidate Sherrod Brown, who is challenging Republican Sen. Jon Husted after losing his Senate seat in 2024, when rally attendees shifted their attention toward a confrontation in the crowd.
Video of the confrontation showed a rallygoer who appeared to support Trump shoving the heckler and striking her in the face as the crowd chanted “USA!”
The man also grabbed the woman by the hair and attempted to slam her face toward the ground.
Police eventually intervened and broke up the fight before escorting the woman out of the venue. Video showed the man who struck her remaining in the arena and exchanging high-fives with other attendees.
Trump appeared to notice the disruption and accused the protester of being paid to interrupt the rally, although he offered no evidence to support the allegation. He also mocked the protester’s weight.
“He’s a paid protester,” Trump said, appearing to be unaware that the heckler was a woman. “They’re all paid. They get paid by the lefties in order to destroy our country. They’re scum. But he’s going back home to Mom. He’s going back home to Mom. Look at him. Look at him. Terrible. Don’t we love law enforcement? Oh, he’s gotta go on a diet! He’s a fat guy. Wow. Wow. Gotta go on a diet fast. We all do.”
“No, they’re paid protesters. That’s a very low-class protester,” the president added.
And WTF cops? All you did was escort the victim from the premises? What about arresting the man who battered her?
Living Barbie doll wannabe’s first act at her job goes surprisingly short.
WASHINGTON — Katie Zacharia took the lectern for the first time in her new role as White House press secretary on Oct. 13, but if you blinked, you might have missed it.
Zacharia, a conservative commentator tapped for the high-profile job, addressed reporters for just 14 minutes during her first White House press briefing ‒ only taking questions from reporters for five and a half of those minutes. She called on reporters from Breitbart, Fox News and Daily Mail, all conservative-leaning outlets.
“In fact, I am going to end it because President Trump is heading out to Marine One for our historic trip to Alaska, and we can ask him all of the questions out there,” Zacharia said as she abruptly ended the briefing. “So thank you so much.”
Trump didn’t embark on his trip until more than an hour later, however.
You’ll note she only fielded questions from conservative outfits.
Evidently Zacharia’s claim to be an attorny is just that, a claim.
Newly minted White House press secretary Katie Zacharia has repeatedly described herself as an attorney.
The conservative commentator is now facing scrutiny about her legal qualifications after she was pressed to explain them following her first White House briefing with the media.
As President Donald Trump spoke to reporters after the briefing on Tuesday, one asked him where Zacharia had passed the bar exam.
“What state did she pass the bar exam in? You said she is an attorney. Where did she pass the bar exam? Which state?” the reporter asked.
Trump then turned to Zacharia, standing behind him, and asked, “Which state?”
“When I moved to China,” Zacharia answered.
Her response added to the confusion over where she may be licensed to practice law in the United States. State bar exams are generally administered in person within the jurisdiction.
In a statement, Zacharia said she “practiced international transaction law, with all the appropriate credentials.” She did not say if she’d passed the bar in any state.
The stable genius knows more about China and Russia than the intelligence services do. He’ll tell you so himself.
WASHINGTON, Oct 13 (Reuters) - President Donald Trump said on Monday he did not believe that China and Russia were helping Iran “at all,” even as US intelligence reports in recent months have found that both countries directly support Tehran’s war effort.
Trump said on Truth Social that he had seen comments from his critics and opponents that China and Russia were helping Iran. Moscow and Beijing maintain close ties with Tehran.
“If they are, it’s at a very low level, but I don’t believe they are at all. They have too much to lose, and we would know about it, and know about it very fast,” Trump wrote.
How would he know about it very fast? Oh, yes. The very intelligence services whose reports he’s denying out of hand would tell him. That’s some genius four-dimensional chess there.
Fake it until you…fake it?
The Trump administration insists that it has done nothing wrong by sharing pictures of the arrests of several protesters who allegedly disrupted a Minnesota church service, with one of the photos admittedly “digitally-altered” to make it look as if the woman was crying.
There “has been no Government misconduct,” and the “inclusion of arrest photos was not improper,” the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) wrote in a 26-page filing on Monday.
The court submission in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota came as a response to civil rights activist Nekima Levy Armstrong and other protesters’ request for a judge to dismiss the indictment against them over what they say is “government misconduct” on the part of the DOJ.
On Jan. 18, about 40 protesters went to Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota, “shouting down churchgoers in the middle of services,” the Department of Homeland Security stated . They apparently targeted the church because the pastor was an official with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The Trump administration — through then-DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and other official accounts — posted photos of the trio’s arrests, identifying Armstrong, Chauntyll Louisa Allen and William Kelly as the “ringleaders” of the “riot.” One such post came from the White House’s official X page , which was a photo of Armstrong with her hands behind her back, doctored to make it look as though she were crying.
They’re now going to use wartime powers to buy votes in one town in Texas.
The Trump administration will use wartime authority to augment fuel production at a refinery in Texas, Vice President JD Vance announced on Tuesday. The move comes as high energy prices are putting a strain on the economy and are becoming a political liability ahead of the midterms.
“I am pleased to announce that the Trump administration, working with the refinery at Delek, has used the Defense Production Act and we’re going to expand the refinery right here in Tyler, Texas,” Vance said during a Texas rally.
“We want millions of gallons of commercial-grade and military-spec fuel to come out of this refinery, in addition to what it’s already producing,” Vance told the crowd.
The Defense Production Act gives the president the authority to increase the production of certain items to advance national security.
It’s unclear whether the use of the Defense Production Act will go beyond just this one refinery. The Hill has reached out to the White House for additional comment.

You mean the son he described as “a person who I’ve known for a long time”?
It’s not like he gives much thought to any of them. I wonder if he could pick his new daughter-in-law out of a lineup.
