SpaceX founder Elon Musk warned Democrats over a possible congressional probe on Wednesday, writing, “live by the sword, die by the sword.”
“Those who pick fights with me should understand that I will find out who is really pulling the strings and come for them, not just their puppets,” Musk wrote on the social platform X , which he owns, in response to a Politico report about his controversial work as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and the potential shutdown of Starlink access in Ukraine.
Another report in The Wall Street Journal, citing U.S. officials and people familiar with the matter, accused Musk of ordering the slowdown of Starshield, the military version of Starlink internet. The technology is a vital tool Ukraine uses to defend itself from Russian missile and drone attacks.
“What happens when one guy gets a giant contract from the government and then uses it to do something that shuts down communication in a war that has been extremely important to the United States to support Ukraine,” Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) said in an interview with Politico.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth were quick to blame Musk despite President Trump claiming last week that neither he nor Musk was involved in the slowdown. Trump’s role in the matter is still unclear.
Democrats are also looking to extend their past probe into Musk’s work as a special federal employee at DOGE, per Politico.

Former ESPN star and current U.S. State Department press adviser Britt McHenry reportedly tossed a drink at a heckling fan during a “heated confrontation” at Wednesday night’s game between the Milwaukee Bucks and Washington Wizards.
Page Six first reported the news on Thursday, with TMZ doing the same a short time later.
According to Page Six, McHenry was attending the game at Capital One Arena in D.C. with a male friend. The two were seated in front of a group of men who began taunting Bucks forward Kyle Kuzma, who is engaged to model and actress Winnie Harlow.
“They were saying he plays terribly because his girlfriend’s ugly,” a source told Page Six, adding that the “loud and obnoxious” men said other “terrible” things about Harlow.
At this point, McHenry reportedly confronted the heckler and asked him to “ease up,” but instead he began harassing her instead.
"The guy then allegedly began hurling “misogynistic” comments toward the former Fox contributor and even “threw a drink on her,” Page Six said.
McHenry, 40, who also had been drinking, “responded by throwing a drink” at the man. TMZ apparently has some video footage of the situation.

Two U.S. Border Patrol (CBP) vehicles briefly parked outside an early voting site in Leon County, Florida, prompting the county’s elections supervisor to file a formal complaint with the FBI, a local official said.
The vehicles arrived outside the county’s busiest early voting site of Northeast Branch Library in Tallahassee about 10:15 a.m. on Monday, shortly after early voting began, according to Leon County Supervisor of Elections Mark S. Earley.
“The two vehicles appeared to stay for approximately 10 minutes before leaving the vicinity of the site,” Earley said. "It is worth noting that we did not receive any calls from voters regarding the incident. “Since learning of this, I have been in close communication with our local, state, and federal partners to make sure they are aware of this issue. I have lodged a formal complaint with the FBI, and to their credit, they are taking this seriously.”

In a separate incident in Monroe County, Supervisor of Elections Sherri Hodies told Keys News Talk that her office was investigating after federal immigration agents were seen near an early voting location in Key Largo. Hodies said several voters contacted her office expressing concern about the agents’ presence, with some describing it as voter intimidation or interference.
Video showed federal immigration agents stopping a vehicle near the entrance to the Murray Nelson Government Center, according to WPLG. Hodies said officials were trying to determine whether the stop took place outside the polling location or whether the location was intentional.

Yet another attack on education.
The Trump administration is abandoning a slew of guidance documents, resources for districts, and civil rights enforcement approaches meant to make education more accessible for English learners, Black and other marginalized students, according to an update scheduled to be published in the Federal Register Oct. 23.
The U.S. Departments of Education and Justice said seven total documents issued by the two agencies between 2015 and 2023 are “not enforceable” under various federal civil rights laws related to race, disability and other protections. Some of them were already previously quietly rescinded by the administration.
“The Departments will not rely upon these guidance documents in their enforcement of federal civil rights laws, including Titles IV and VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964,” the notice said.
In one overturned document from 2015, which was also rescinded in 2025 , the federal government sought to ensure that “school districts are equipped with the tools and resources to meet their responsibilities” for English learner students.
