The Turtle & Bunny MMP

Congrats! Glad you were able to do the race.

I didn’t even finish studying my chapter for the week. I did finish tabbing my ICD-10 book, though.

Been up[ and dressed for a bit. Talked to some cousins making plans for family day that don’t involve bail. For bail you are always on your own. Getting ready to get Bessie and run over a friends so he can check the codes for that check-engine-thingy and so I can visit his dog. Then off to irk.

Happy Toosday!

Well not really, it’s another grumpy day.
I have things to do that I don’t want to do, and I won’t be un-grumpy until they are done.

I didn’t sleep too well last night either, which doesn’t help with the grumpiness.

However, today is a beautiful and cool, N.O.S. day.
I’m going to open the windows for a bit.
The A/C man will be here sometime this afternoon.
The back postage stamp is going to get whacked today. All the rain and it is a jungle out there. The weeds need to be sprayed too now that the rain is over for a bit.

My puppy is 4 weeks old today. I should be getting another picture this week.
I also need to get information on how he is being shipped and to what airport. It would be great if it could be the airport up here but I doubt that will happen. I want BWI, not Dulles. I grew up near BWI and am familiar with the area, and it is close to my mother’s so I can stop by there and give the poor thing a bit of a break before we start the drive home. I want Sah-son to go with me but if he doesn’t I have two friends who are willing to meet up with me and go.
I need to know what kind of food to buy, and how much he weighs so I know what size harness to get, all kinds of stuff. I think the cat harness will fit him for a while, and I need to get some toys, and food bowls, and pick up the cat toys that have cat nip in them.

I need to stop thinking about this, I have other things I need to do first, but I want to do the fun stuff.

ruble, sounds like your family day(s) are rather exciting…at least for the local law enforcement folks…

Sari, hope you get the necessary info on the pup. Sounds like he’ll have quite an adventure just getting to you.

Guy came by to see about getting me a new set of blinds and ended up fixing the one I couldn’t and suggesting I don’t really need replacements. He got $20 cash (doubt it wil be reported to his home office) and I’m a satisfied consumer.

Need to buy some wall hangers, got several pictures framed by need to get them up on the wall. That and possibly laundry (which may wait on Wednesday) is all the activity planned for Tuesday here.

PS, got pictures from my vacation on my Facebook page. You can PM me if you want the site.

BLURF Have not read but will. Mr. McGrunty Moaner is in there now just going to town. I do have to figure out how to approach him. Makes me wonder what he sounds like during sex. I know I am a sicko.

I have never had a dog eat cat turds thank God. Our cat does her business outside except the one time she used the tub. We took her to the vet as it was so out of the ordinarv. He gave her an enema and she has not shat in the tub anymore.

Howdy Y’all! I’ve been to the liberry and two loads of laundry are done. Go Me! No rain yet but it’s on the way as there’s all kinds of red stuff just to the west and southwest. Nice afternoon to be in and to chill. I foresee nappage even.

Pepper continues her run of letting me sleep in to 7 or so. Go puppy! There are extra kids and dogs about, so she is kept tired.

Today I take 'Beamette to see a migraine specialist (just a check in appointment) and the kids will continue their sewing projects. I may take 'Beamer to my sister’s to visit with his other cousin. He and his sister are fighting and it’s casting a pall over the week.

MetalMouse I shall PM you. I want pics!

Happy Toesday everyone!

They can but not so much from an evil thing as a it-sounds-like-a-good-idea thing.

The old Harley 2-strokes had this odd thing about them; if you turned the timing around 180, the motor would run in reverse ------ giving you 5 backwards gears. Back in the day I actually got really good at riding that way, sitting normal but going the opposite direction. One of the cousins bought one a couple years back and I was telling him about it and decided to show him. Then someone said something about “wouldn’t it be cool if we all rode somewhere with you going backwards” and one thing lead to another and ------- lets just say the Kingston Police Department didn’t find it quite as funny as we did. Not un-funny enough to give us all tickets but enough to voice their opinion.

Another time we found this old dead household Christmas tree (real tree not artificial) behind the shed of a house Cousin Kopek-James was buying and decided to see how fast it would burn in the fire pit. The answer is “very” confirmed by the firemen the neighbor called seeing this biblical pillar of flame extending into the sky. No fines there either but it was touchy for a moment or three. In retrospect adding the white gas (100 octane flight fuel) was probably a mistake.

And we’ll just skip over blowing up that Cadillac the one time -------------
On to good news; sometime in the past Bessie backfired on the front jug and it locked in a historic code. Plugs and all check out fine and she always has cut a fart now and then so I’m trusting my ears more than the onboard computer.

You do your laundry at the liberry?? You Jawjans is weird!!!

We didn’t have to do that before Reconstruction.

Yes I do my laundry at the liberry. I also grocery shop at the county courthouse. :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s a rainy afternoon in Jawja. Also thundery. I called OYKW and convinced him it’d be a better idea for me to make dindin rather than go to the [del]hog trough[/del] buffet place cause it’s so ick out. The promise of salmon patties, smashed N.O.T., peas, and bizkits made my point. This is some wunnerful southern U.S. of A. comfort food. Also easy to make. I have the N.O.T. peeled and cubed and the salmon patties made up already even. I’m so nice!

ETA: First on Two Spidey! :stuck_out_tongue:

::Tacklehug::

Saw the title & thought it was about you, huh?

No don’t skip that one.

Cow farts?

Are you familiar with the phrase, “To the victor goes the spoils”?

Well, we got all the nuclear missiles the Russians want to shoot at, so there!

wait a minute…

Blurf! Moooommmmm sending you a pm re wigs. Just a little change in the last ones.

Home. I stopped at the Amish market - apparently they’ve got a glut of 'lopes. I scored 2 beauties at 2/$1!!! YAY! Plus someone brought cukes & ‘maters to the office, so I got one of each - didn’t want to be greedy. **FCD **isn’t feeling well, so I’m thinkin’ 'mater sammich for supper!

Butters, I got your pm and responded. Just need a number from you.

We et dindin even a little early for us. It didn’t take long to make and we were both real hungry, but not anymore. Anywho, the kitchen is cleanded and there’s ice cream for later. Life is good.

Speakin’ of Nukes, there are three old missile silos within twenty-five miles of da cave. Southwest Jawja was ready to be blown to smithereens!

ruble, your family sounds…um…interesting.

sari, every time that I I think that the place is puppy proofed, I think of something else. :stuck_out_tongue:

I toured a vet clinic that was recommended for Nelson this afternoon. I liked the place well enough that they will be where he goes for medical care. They were recommended on our town’s HIP page and have a good Yelp rating. When I got home, I stopped into the apartment office to request a couple of work orders. The flourescent tubes in half my kitchen are blinky and teh screen on the screen door is flapping.

Irk was bizzy bizzy today. One of my cow-orkers is doing double duty with two jobs that aren’t his and I’m covering him. The old bat who needs to retire refuses to do anything she doesn’t normally do, which isn’t much. I’ll be glad when everybody is back from vacation.

Titan IIs.
Sometimes they half way, kinda sorta blow up by themselves.

Well, Cousin Andy had gotten this Cadillac used that broke down more than it ran. So at one point he decided to end it all ----- for that car. He dragged it out about 150 yards from the house into a corner of a field, with a good clean backstop behind it, and put in a few sticks of explosives rigged to a detonator so we could all pop rounds at it until it went boom.

And then we decided the gas tank should really be partly filled.

And a few more sticks.

And we had some old cans and jellied some gas for those cans.

And a few more sticks.

We added some black powder and someone found some demolition cord left over from some tree removals.

And other odds and ends got added here and there including things like a troll doll that didn’t really go boom but people wanted to see added to the boom.

And we had some incendiary and tracer rounds we could get rid of as well.

Did I mention some odd propane and other tanks?

The resulting boom once someone hit the target clean, or nailed some of the gas and/or fumes with a tracer, attracted some attention even though everyone from the neighboring 5000 or so acres was at the party.

And that corner of that field basically became a Super-Fund site if we had let anyone from Uncle Sugar actually know what had happened. Instead we just sorta farm around it.

But other than that it really did sound like a good idea at the time.

Honey, if you remember right, the Old Wench confirmed for you when we had dinner that day -------- on that side of the family, I’m the shy quiet backward one. The rest can get rambunctious at times. Not at all like my beloved nephew Big Fiddle Kopek. He takes after his mom’s clan.

About irk -------- I did something tonight I haven’t done in more than two years; took VTO. One of the bosses came around about an hour in and asked if anyone wanted to clock out and leave early. He didn’t say but I knew from the volume that we were looking at late trucks and the people who stayed would be there until 9pm and asked to volunteer for the extra hour. So yes ------- yes I would like to leave early. That means no guaranteed 18 hours but since I am missing two days for Knoebels that was out of play anyway. So I actually got to spend an evening with the OW and we went out to dinner. Nothing fancy but it was still a treat.
