The Twisty appreciation thread - for good reason

Not to worry anyone, but Twisty’s taken a bad turn and is presently in St James Hospital here in Dublin.

He is OK and should be out tomorrow, so no need to panic. Seems just to be an infection of some sort. Nothing major.

But I thought this would be a good time for us all to think about what a special person he is and to let him know.

I never do this, but, {{{{{Twisty}}}}}

See you soon.

I got all scared cuz he’s the one that likes motorcycles, right?

Anyway, glad it’s nothing too serious. Hope to see you back up and about soon, Twisty.

I hope by now that John knows how very special he is to me and how much I appreciate all of the friendship he’s shown me since I’ve known him.

Get well soon, John! I’ve only got one Cubby Buddy after all and what am I going to do once I get to Dublin if mine is unwell?

Big smoochies and huggles
Tracy

Best of good wishes and healing thoughts, Twisty. I hope you are feeling back to normal before you know it! And I just said a little prayer for you, too.

Scotti

As IF! Mopeds, more likely. :wink:

And I think ruadh misspelled “embarassingly large intake of cheap cider”.

Anyway, get well soon mate. You’re an asset to the fine city of Dublin. Even if you DON’T like the black stuff. :smiley:

I was wondering why he hadn’t emailed lately…

{{John}}

Get well soon…I’ll send you some Lita pics as soon as you’re back on email. :slight_smile:
BTW…thanks for all the support and friendship you’ve shown me-I think you’re the shiznit too.

Tanya

Well, now this is awkward. I’m used to bossing Twisty around and demanding he perform his bitch duties in a timely and precise manner. And now I have to get all mushy and soft and admit that I miss him. Not only that, but I have to send him good thoughts and wishes that he get better soon.

Twisty, get back on your feet in a hurry, young man. That’s an order! (I am not going to be reduced to sending cards and flowers and cute stuffed animals. That’s where I draw the line.) :wink:

Not another visit to the Dick Doc ?

Never mind, Johnny boy. Two weeks on the orange juice and tablets will probably do you a good turn. Less of course St James’ is one of dem ‘nervous hopsitals’…which would actually explain rather a lot.

BTW, hope you’re well, John.

Eh, never met but get well soon anyway. One of these days I’ll make it across the Irish Sea and hit a proper DopeFest, honest.

And remember: nurses don’t appreciate Singing Detective chat-up lines.

Eh, Spiny Norman, Twisty… close enough. They’re both eminently attractive EuroDopers. If you’re nice, I’ll lump you in along with them, Coldy. :wink:

[sub]Hi Shayna![/sub]

So now I feel all guilty that my above post doesn’t contain a :)… this is bad: Guilt by association with a Catholic :eek:

And thanks to ruadh for letting us all know.

i hope you’re feeling better soon.

Nah, I was with him most of the day he took ill and can vouch for the fact that he hadn’t had nearly enough alcohol to make him ill. In fact, by the standards of the people we were with he was practically teetotal :slight_smile:

[sub]and it was Kilkenny Ale anyway[/sub]

BTW, in case anyone takes offence, I don’t mean to imply by the title of this thread that the other appreciation threads aren’t for good reason. I just wanted to make sure everyone would know that it’s neither mundane nor pointless and I didn’t have time when I posted it to think of a better title.

Didn’t we warn you about those curbs the last time, hon? :wink:

I sure hope you’re feeling better really soon. Sending lots of healing vibes across the pond.

{{{Twisty}}}

[sub]Hi Rasa![/sub]

He drank milk that was sitting out all night again, didn’t he? Oooh, I told that silly goose not to do that!

Twisty’s sick? :frowning: Where else am I suppose to find a dashing Irishman to send me random e-mails when I least expect them?

Feel better soon, John. That’s an order. :slight_smile:

(((((((John))))))

We’ll have none of that - you get well and get out of there. I’ve heard that the Kilkenny brewery is considering layoffs due to a drastic decline in sales in the Greater Dublin area.

And don’t hit on the nurses. Sure, it sounds good in theory, but it’s always a bad idea to press advances on someone with a thermometer and license to use it.

Seriously: Get better, that’s an order. Keep us informed, OK ?

S. Norman

  • and thanks to ruadh for the thread.

He’ll do anything to get off work :wink:

Hope you’re felling better John and will be seeing you soon.

Thx ruadh for letting us know.

Just to keep you guys up to date, I’ve just spoken with him and he sounds OK and will hopefully be out of hospital later today. Thanks to everyone for your concern.

But no thanks to the gardaí who refused to call an ambulance for him on Saturday night thinking he was just drunk. :mad:
