The Two Towers 24 hour countdown thread

Now you do realize this is a three hour movie, and one of which you don’t want to miss a single minute?

I’m going to a midnight showing tonight (with a huge group of like-minded geeks, yay!), and while normally I’m all for caffiene, I’m going to have to hope that I’ll be psyched up enough to be alert, b/c I don’t want to be searching for the ladies room half-way through. Sneaking in a mini water bottle only, I think.

Is it midnight yet?

It is midnight yet?

How 'bout now?

I’m not going to get anything useful done today…

Curse you all! I have roughly 32 hours to go! :frowning:

Yeah? Well I have roughly 13 hours to go! :frowning:
Oh, wait…that would be better, wouldn’t it?

27 1/2 hours for me…

My ticket is whisspering at me.
How am I supposed to take a final on a day like this???

I have about 33 hours to go. I’m not sure exactly when it starts (CrankyAsAnOldMan has my ticket), but I think at about 9:45 or something.

Whee!

Um… I had to pop in here and say I saw it last week at a sneak preview I won tickets for.

:::ducking in case of lobbed rotten fruit:::

Do not hate me - I bring you glad tidings! This movie was breathtaking, jawdropping… and I cannot wait for you all to see it so I may talk about it with someone!

I am calmer now. I managed to contact the local theatre office and was prepared to let loose the Hounds of Hell upon the scum. But I was informed that the website was wrong and that I have the option of 4 show times tomorrow. Good thing, too because I was trying to find the closest theatre where it was show. It was beginning to look like I was going to have to drive to Shreveport.

I don’t get to see it until 11:30 PM tomorrow.

Sure I have to wake up at 5 AM to get to work, but what’s a little sleep deprivation when such beauty will be unfolding before my eyes.

-mmm, Ent goodness A2K

Geek though I am, I’m a 46 year old geek and won’t brave opening night geekophrenia even for TTT. We’re going on Sunday at 11 a.m. and hopefully the place won’t be swarming with too many kids. From what I hear, anyway, it’s a rather gruesome, dark and frightening movie, so maybe parents will use good sense and keep the littlest ones home.

Not quite sure how long I have to wait, but I got’s me a DVD ticket, so I won’t be waiting in line. I hope.

Ahhh, to be free to see a movie…I have fleeting memories of what that was like.

I’ll be seeing it after Xmas most likely. Just too much to do before then to take three hours out to see it. Finding a babysitter for the kids would be impossible this week, and going by myself would result in my wife killing me (not because she is in a hurry to see it, but because I’ve already avoided my share of the Xmas preparations this year and I ain’t pushing it).

But once the holidays are over, I’m there baby.

We are going to a 1:00pm show tomorrow. Taking the day off work, getting about a dozen people together for a morning showing of the extended Fellowship, than going to see the TTT (while the kids are in daycare all day).

Next year we will have to arrange for a sitter, since it will take ten hours to get through all three movies.

I won’t be seeing it until Friday night, since my dad wants me to wait to see it with him…LOTR…Friday night…NYC…this’ll be interesting

11 hrs, 41 minutes (by my clock).
yessss…

I bought my tickets to 12/22 at 3p this past Sunday (12/15.)

We’re supposed to be going with my SILs and their husbands.

I don’t know if they bought their tickets yet.

As I already told one SIL, we’re going, with or without you guys.

The midnight one tonight is tempting, but will probably do the noon one tomorrow (Wed.).

12 hours and counting! Too bad I’m going to be spending 10 of those at work…

The Guy Behind Me saw it at last week’s BAFTA screening - says it was excellent.
I have to wait 49 hours (seeing it Thursday).

I’ve closed my eyes and stuck my fingers in my ears for all trailers, reviews and not read any blurb (this includes most of this month’s Empire magazine and AICN) - though I was at a seminar with one of the technical directors about 6 months ago and he gave me a fairly good idea of what CG was in store… Ohmygodohmygodohmygod!

Ya know, I’m not going to see this movie until the weekend. But I have to say, seeing all the excitement here is getting me excited.

It does my geek heart good just reading this thread.

I totally want to see TTT, but I’ve got until 12/31 to use my FREE ticket from the EE DVD of FOTR, and since me mum is coming to visit this weekend, and I have a buttload of errands to run between now and then, I’m probably going to wait until 12/23 or 24 to see it.

BTW: Does my ticket allow me to waltz into the movie any time I want, or does it mean that I merely have free admission, but I still I have to go to the ticket window like a commoner and thus am subject to the dread SOLD OUT sign?
