Mama Tigs!!! Yay! Nice to get the update. Yes - you must post pics! What’ve you been knitting? (Are you on ravelry? Have you seen the ongoing knitting thread over in CS? Or Alice’sthread about knitting for her friend’s son?) Seems to me that I took up knitting just about when you disappeared. You are, however, one of the people I blame for my habit.
Those of you who are melting: it is possible that there’s hope. We’ve had a pleasant warm, but not terribly humid day today when they had originally predicted temps in the 90s.
I’ve been sad about Norine as well. I don’t know that we ever interacted (except maybe she stopped in here a couple of times), but she was one of those Dopers I always thought would be great to meet IRL.
Work today was…long. Can someone stop throwing extra special surprises into my work life? I think that the gorillas swampy keeps warning me about are actually hiding at work.
LOOKIT!!!111 It’s MamaTigs!!! We missed you! I was thinkin’ about you too this week. So, the mumper hive mind conjures up MIA mumpers and poke chops.
I’m home from Evening Prayer. Our Deacon (who is also a Chaplain at the local horsepistol) offers healing prayer after the service for anyone who wishes. I asked for an intercessory prayer for JDD’s father who is recovering from a broken hip and not doing all that great with the therapy. Well, he’s also 87 years old so I guess that has sump’n to do with it. Anywho, I told JDD and he was appreciative of that.
Bummed to over the death of Norine
Now I shall go lie upon the bed and watch teevee and luxuriate in a/c. It’s cooled down to a balmy 99 degrees Amurrkin out at 8:15 P.M.
Mama Tigs!!! I have missed you! I miss the stories about Isaac too.
I’m glad you’ve found yourself a nice new place.
When you’re up in Seattle visiting your mother, give me wave; I’m only about 30 miles south of there.
Whew. It was another long, frustrating day. Don’t worry, I’m not going to whine about it here. It would just wind me up and make me even more tired.
Polar’s ear is doing much, much better. Today, I was able to wash out his ear with no resistance from him. The fact that I distracted him with a Milk Bone helped, but it was even better than when I did it this weekend.
Both of the dogs seemed to have survived their first day being in the big yard kennel. Polar was completely relaxed, lying in the grass. Brandi happened to see my husband, so she was waiting at the gate for him. No evidence of digging either. Yay!
We are still waiting for spring, much less heat. They SAY it’s supposed be around 75 degrees on Saturday. We’ve only broken 70 degrees once this year. Otherwise, our temps have ranged from the 50s to the mid 60s. In fact, they usually hovered right around 58 degrees.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of only 97 this afternoon. GASP It’s like a cold front movin’ through!
The yahd looks horrible. I need to mow. It’s too hawt to mow, but mow I must so mow I shall this evenin’. Maybe. I gotta go do a health fair thingy on Sattidy down in large and in charge Coolidge, Jawja. Thus the need to mow today or tomorrow. ICK!
Now I go in search of more caffiene and brekkie for rumbly tummy. Then, alas, purtification for irk must commence.
I’m sad about Norine, too. We had some good talks about unruly teenagers. I sure would have liked to have met her.
I had a good visit with my friend last night. The 2 year old was adorable! The 12-yr old pretty much ignored us, which was fine since we were catching up anyway.
Rebo you saw a twelve year old actin’ like a twelve year old? GASPSHOCKSURPRISE What is this world comin’ to!
I’m at N.O.L. Leftover poke chops and some collard greens from last night’s dindin. YUM!!! Tonight’s dindin shall be death chikin with other leftover veggies from last night. Easy dindin and tasty too! I’m usin’ chikin thighs and cookin’ enough to use some in a pasta sallit. I’m like one of those cookin’ shows where people make stuff for multiple meals ain’t I?
Ok, off to check out a couple other things and then, alas, back to irk.
Swampy you’re one day behind, we had chickin last night. Mojo chicken and Colcannon to be exact. Tonight will be poke chops and steamed cabbage.
In other, less tasty news; my mother-in-law has necrotizing fasciitis. I think. This is third hand from my wife’s sister, so it could be anything from a toothache to gangrene, but she was life-flighted up to OHSU last night so the docs up there can work on her. At least OHSU is only 30 miles from our house. We’re really worried about the old girl. She’s 91 and can’t take too much dochandling. (that’s manhandling by doctors).
Thems of you who likes to pray, please do so.
Hint: don’t look up necrotizing fasciitis if you have a weak stomach.
Bumba healing thoughts and prayers headed out to you MIL. I shall not look that up. I do not want to relive my N.O.L. just yet.
I made colcannon once. I thought it was quite tasty. I was asked, however, to not do that again cause, and I quote, “it looks like a cow threw up”. I do not know this for fact bein’ as to the best of my recollection I have never witnessed cow puke. Food critics, they’re everywhere!
OK, coordinate your menus - it’s quiche night tonight!
My branch at work is having a party next Friday. Boss is bringing the grill and the meat. I’m taking ice, beverages, and a fruit plate. Other donations include mac-n-cheese, cookies, N.O.T. salad, veggie burgers (we have a veggie in the group) and veggie tray. Three more folks need to weigh in with their contributions. With my impending departure and the RIF/reorg, this will be our farewell get-together. I’m going to miss my boss - I really like him tons.
Lessee, what else? Nothing. I got nothing. It’s not as brutally hot and humid today, so yay. I need to empty the dishwasher and run a load of whites. Daughter is coming for supper. And that’s about it. Oh, and tomorrow’s Firday! YAY!
Evening, all…yes, that’s my best Dixon of Dock Green impersonation, just for you.
Is that a rare sighting of Mama Tigs there? It’s just a shame to be drawn back here by such bad news
Nothing much happening here at the moment, I am arranging to go and work in my old building for couple of days next week so that means two whole days with no 'net access at all. How will I cope?
In other news, we finally have a bit of hot weather for a change. Good news because we have a bbq to go to on Saturday at a friend’s house as it’s her birthday. That means we might actually be able to cook outside in their garden without needing the gazebo to keep the rain off!
