When directed towards another poster, no, it’s never allowed. Directed towards off-board personalities, it’s acceptable across the board, although in some other forums, it may be moderated if you’re excessively profane.

He’s started posting more frequently of late, and every post he’s made in threads I’ve been reading has included the pointless emphasis qutoes. I’m not tracking him, it’s just something that’s come to my notice with his increased posting rate of late.

It’s not just you, I’ve been noticing it as well.

Amusingly enough, the random underlining, quotation marks, and bolding are also habits of one Susanann, something that often gets mentioned in her pittings.
