That possible, they had the tent set up, but Rick walked a really long way with her and I don’t think Herschel and Carl went more then a hundred feet or so into the woods.
What if they had him drive into the zombies while talking to the person in the passenger seat instead of Darryl? We already had a “woman driver” why not an Asian one too!
I think the confusion over who killed the two sick people is down to bad programme-making. They aren’t trying to make it ambiguous, they’re just crap at making TV shows. I have no idea who did the killing, and both options are ridiculous. I thought Carl was about to kill Hershel, as we kept getting shots of him fingering his gun holster while they talked. No, it was simply directorial ineptitude.
It seems that the majority of scenes in this show no longer move the plot forward, enhance characterisation or add background colour. It’s just idiots talking nonsense, like a particularly dull soap opera. I don’t think they actually have different personalities - they are all generally gruff but humane, with occasional angry-loner phases. Also, do the two black men have to speak in pidgin English? And is Hershel actually going to morph into Santa Claus?
I’m beginning to root for the zombies.
Does anybody know who “Dave” was? I saw a photo online that said “RIP DAVE” and the “Image Not Found” icon.
One of the complaints I’ve heard about the comic books is that the characters are hard to tell apart because they don’t seem to have different personalities. If that is accurate, then at least the show has stayed true to something from the books.
That’s true to an extent, but the large cast and black and white art doesn’t help. Admittedly, I read the stories as they come out in trade paperback. It may be easier keeping track if you read the monthlies.
I like Carol, Daryl, and Carl, the only ones who get it. I would like to like Rick, but his head is still too far up his ass. I also like Glenn, but I agree that he is mostly neutered these days.
I just realized something, if you watch reruns of old tv shows, technically you’re watching “zombies,” as the cast is long dead, e.g. Gilligan’s Island, the three stooges, etc.
Yeah, I agree with the comments about Glenn. He was one of the badass characters up until like season 3.
Seriously, who can tear a zombie apart with his bare hands, then rip up the zombie and use their bones to stab someone in the neck? Unbelievable badassery.
I was thinking, “an alcohol wipe would be nice right about then.” Oh, well. Smear it around.
Carol, Daryl, and Rick. Carol was so quiet and easy to not think about at first. Her character’s really grown. I couldn’t wait for Daryl and his brother to die already. It was great watching him out grow his brother. He’d be a great influence on Carol. Despite his upbringing and everything they’ve all been through, you get him on the road with some buddies and he just wants to crank some tunes and have fun. Rick is kind of fun when he’s nuts, plus the story is generally centered on him.
I see hints here and there that Michonne could be a really fun complex character but the writers don’t let her do anything but brood and grunt. C’mon, even Xena cracked a joke once in awhile.
Glen was supposed to be the young tech-savvy guy whom a large portion of the audience could identify with but now he’s pathetic and pussy whipped.
What’s up with Carol and Daryl? Are they still an item? Because Daryl seems to be bonding with Michonne.
I was wondering about that, myself. I thought Carol and Daryl were a couple, or in the process of becoming one. Now, perhaps not. I dunno…
Nine out of ten television writers agree; romantic triangles will provide fodder to fill time between the commercials.
I think they’ve left it ambiguous. They definitely formed some sort of bond, starting with the search for Sophia. They’re not afraid of a little innuendo banter. But it could be anything from strictly platonic closeness to they’ve been sleeping together for a season or more.
I like Carol a lot. I feel like she’s one of the bright spots in the writing - she’s had a lot of development, and it’s quite believable. I hope the current plot doesn’t end with her being written out!
I don’t think Carol and Daryl were ever really a couple like that. I think they are good friends who tease each other and make jokes as if they were a couple.
I don’t think Daryl needs to get with anyone, otherwise he’ll go soft like Glenn.
Did you guys catch the preview they just released? Looks interesting!
Yeah. Last season broke me for “Walking Dead”. I still watch it, but I no longer consider the possibility that it will deliver good-or-better writing, directing, editing, etc. I play music when I read message boards and surf the web in general. This season, I’ve taken to watching the show while I surf, as it’s not something that deserves my undivided attention. There’s maybe 10 minutes each episode that are worth a damn, with the rest filler. It’s actually more enjoyable to watch with lowered expectations.
On a side note Daryl/Glenn seems to be the post popular slash pairing for this series (followed by Daryl/Rick and Daryl/anybody else).
Daryl and a barber?
Oh, hadn’t thought of that. Good point! We don’t want a “softie Daryl”.
