The Walking Dead; 5.12 "Remember" (open spoilers)

Is it just me, or is this outfit awfully similar to the one Beth picked out when she was at the golf clubhouse with Daryl?

It’s a very common wardrobe item among upper middle class women, matching sweater sets and cardigans in general.

WD made a joke about the male’s clothing being Land’s End. The promo for next week showed Carol wearing a Land’s End floral cardigan. There must be an Outlet store close by that the Alexandrians scavenged, lol.

Was it ever stated how many people live in Alexandria?

But it’s my understanding that, in the comics

there never is a Daryl.

You’re right; there is no Daryl in the comics. I’m not bothering with the spoiler box because it seems to me the complete lack of a story element in the original cannot reasonably be called a spoiler for either that or the adaptation.
I think you’re safe here - in the comics, when the group gets to Alexandria, the congress person was a black male without children, Andrea and Dale are still alive, and there is no Daryl.

Dale died before Alexandria, ending up as Bob did in the show.
Totally.

Now, that’s an intersesting twist!

Whoa, whoa, slow down there! They have a couple more episodes to go this season! They can’t do that until the season ender (which ends with them doing this then burning the whole place down, of course).

That is the question, indeed. I’m getting the feeling that Rick will do anything to protect his extended family, no hesitation, no questions asked. He’s gone through his personal fire, and he knows where he stands on that now. He’s a sheepdog to his family; he’s a wolf to anyone else.

I don’t care in the slightest about the comics or what happened in them. This is the tv show we’re discussing here.

What is the point of a spoiler box with no other content in the post?

I can’t remember which characters were talking about it–but it was pointed out that they keep willfully expanding that family with questionable choices- a worthless priest, a mulleted liar and a girl who had been in the Governor’s “army” that beheaded Herschel. Their standards are pretty loose. I wonder if internally Rick has assigned value to people and has a “sacrifice order” Like- “okay Abraham has gone missing–let’s go find him.” versus “Gabriel has gone missing…maybe he’ll make it back, maybe he won’t. I’m not getting up from this campfire.”

I was thinking maybe Darryl needs to see that hair stylist, too.

Good point - there certainly would be a hierarchy for him, no doubt. Carl and Judith would be at the top of it; Glen, Maggie, Daryl, Carol and Michonne would come next, then the rest of the bunch (Noah, Gabriel, Abraham, etc.).

It was Michonne, talking to Glenn, who made that observation; she remarked that they took a cowardly priest, a girl who initially was on the governor’s side, and a crazy chick with a sword.

I have been one of the persons who most abused Gabriel (my phone’s autocomplete now recognizes “fu” as the beginning of “Fuckwit” and immediately follows that Gabriel), but he’s not worthless; he’s a human being. Rick’s willingness to take him in shows that he’s not entirely gone over to the darkness. And I think Rosita (definitely an asset) would say that Eugene is not useless. He’s not useful in a FIGHT, but he still knows useful things.

I’ll agree that if somebody has to be thrown to the wolves, Fuckwit Gabriel is going first. No one likes him, and Maggie actively despises him. But beyond that – Rick, Carl, Darl, Carol, Michonne, and Sasha will all save the baby over anything else. Glenn will save Maggie over anyone, and vice versa. Only natural.

Maybe it’s because these are the only clothes that haven’t been scavenged by others. Leave those items. I wouldn’t be caught dead in them. hehehe

They really haven’t developed Gabriel yet. He’s pretty new. They ignored him this ep. Hopefully they’ll move his character along soon. Besides, Noah got Tyreese killed.

Exactly!

Yet another ninja zombie. There were, what? Four of them standing there and actually looking for the damn thing and it still just pops up out of nowhere?

As mentioned by others, the wall braces being on the outside? Pure stupidity. That’s exactly how NOT to fortify your compound.

I really hated that episode, it was like a bad art house movie meets WD, was Tyreese even close to Beth?

Tyreese made no sense either, won’t kill humans? Ok cool, but won’t immobilize a dead rotting ambulatory corpse?!? The group should have seriously had a talk with him.

Depends on if you’re trying to keep things out - or in.
