Even better, a CZ 452 Ultra Lux, it has a 28.5" barrel, if you shoot subsonic .22 ammo, you almost don’t need hearing protection, shoot a specially designed quiet round like a Remington CBee, or CCI Quiet, and you wont need hearing protection at all, it’s literally “click-thump”, and with the rotten cantaloupe consistency of walker skulls, even the quiet rounds should have enough power to enter the skull, bounce around and turn the brain matter to mush.
Standard velocity .22 is under 1075 FPS, probably closer to 1000 from an UL barrel due to friction after 16" (16-18" is optimal length for .22LR), high velocity is 1100 to mid 1200 FPS, quiet rounds are 765 to 710 FPS.
of course, another good option is a Ruger 10/22 with a hicap mag (25 rounds or more), if a suppressor is available, even better, it’s just the Ultra Lux is naturally quieter due to barrel length.
I own one, it’s one of my favorite Rimfires because it’s so unique, in a world of short barrel carbines, the CZUL stands proud and tall (literally )
As an added advantage, even in close combat, the UL would keep the walkers at least a foot further away than with a shorter barrel…
That’s a fascinating idea. In the two years since the ZA started, there definitely should have been babies born by now. It also explains why Porch Dick (Jessie’s husband) is all over the place in his interactions with Rick.
I also wanted to point out Rick’s response when he saw Jessie and Porch Dick (PD) walking along the street the next day - his hand went to his gun while he was looking at PD walking along with Jessie. Oh, Rick - what the hell was that?
Good point. I think Carol, Daryl and Rick are brewing something, but I’m getting less sure it’s something worth brewing. Carol just may be as crazy as Rick thought she was when he first banished her.
Yay! That’s the stuff I’m really interested in!
Not aiming at anyone in particular, but can we stop talking about the Goddamned wall struts already? They’re there, they’re staying there, let’s move on.
Good point, as was pointed out they still have Aaron has a backup if observations suggest they’d be more receptive to him.
One of the most upsetting things I’ve ever seen in a zombie movie was that scene in Return of the Living Dead II when the pet store get’s attacked. It was even that graphic. I agree it’s a completely irrational feeling.
She did, but there was no need to actually waste the bullets. Nobody in Alexandrian is going check that thoroughly.
The church is only a short drive outside of Atlanta.
It would’ve been trivial for the producers to just CGI the struts onto the other side, or just ignore them completely. Instead they had Rick mention in dialogue how easy it would be for someone to climb up them. Granted that could just be a red herring, but to me it strongly suggest that the backwards design is going to be come a plot point. Either some who should be getting in is going to use them to sneak in, or one of the wall segments is going to get pulled down.
Yeah, well the walls were also described as “slabs of solid steel”, so literary licence and all that.
Supports or not, it wouldn’t take much to drive a car through a wall.
I saw that segment, with production designer Grace Walker. He talked about how the things they build in the neighborhood, like the exteriors of the two houses our gang occupy, have to adhere to codes. I don’t remember him saying anything about the supports for the walls.
They probably built the wall to keep out walkers. Now they’re beginning to worry about the eventual human threat, which they may have already invited in.
I’m almost surprised Rick would even care about walls and supports or any of that. If it were me, I’d still be shell-shocked that someone rolled up on my fortified stronghold and blew it to pieces with a friggin’ TANK.
That almost qualifies as a gunpowder = armor is useless moment.
One thing made me wonder wtf, Why did Rick reach for his secret gun when hes carrying his other gun in a friggin holster?
pretty good ep otherwise.
That did seem odd. Especially since no one in Alexandria is supposed to know that Rick has a backup gun.
I assume that the writers were trying to highlight some point in the relationship between Rick and Jesse and Pete (Alexandria’s surgeon and Jesse’s husband) but there should have been some other way to make the same point without Rick exposing his hideout.
Hah yea if by that they meant galvanized roofing.
FWIW the comics wouldn’t be much help since Alexandria was set up differently there. The show is going in a different direction most likely.
Your theory is interesting since it does explain why there are no babies but if it were true the joke would be on them since Judith’s father died long ago.
Was it confirmed that Judith is Shane’s child, not Rick’s?
Sorry about the stupid question, but I barely recall the most recent episode, much less a plot point from many seasons ago.
I’m not sure I’ll be able to stand the slow-motion suspense of watching them gradually fuck this up.
Slow motion? What Carol already did is some major fucking up. Unless it ends up saving the kids life, then it will be OK
It is not a stupid question. It hasn’t been revealed in the show. I don’t know if Quimby is speculating or purposely spoiling something from the comics.
