*Ebony and ivory live together in perfect harmony
Side by side on my piano keyboard, oh Lord, why don’t we?
We all know that people are the same where ever we go
There is good and bad in everyone
We learn to live, and we learn to give
Each other what we need to survive together alive
Ebony and ivory live together in perfect harmony
Side by side on my piano keyboard, oh Lord, why don’t we?
Ebony, ivory living in perfect harmony
Ebony, ivory, ooh*
I was surprised that they didn’t start playing Paul McCartney’s Ebony and Ivory when the kissing began on the couch. Don’t look Carl! Avert your eye!
(What? Too soon?)
I think on the recent episode of Talking Dead they said it’s been two years. (I know they said two months since the last episode.) I don’t know if I misheard, or of someone misspoke, or if the internal time really has been two years. If it’s been two years of show time, and since we’re in Season 6, Coral certainly grew up fast!
They implied it. One of those pop-up trivia sequences noted that toothpaste has an expiration date, typically two years after manufacture, so it would still be good in the TWD universe.
I found this about the comic-book Jesus [bolding mine]:
Jesus was introduced in Issue #91 in a way that differed greatly in detail from the recent episode, but both stuck to the same general tone. In the comics, it’s Abraham and Michonne that he subdues and uses as his link to the Alexandria Safe-Zone, while the TV counterpart has him take advantage of Rick and Daryl as a way to find out where their camp is. Both plans are effective and immediately put out there not only that Jesus is someone who knows how to handle himself in a fight, either with or without weapons, but it also showcases his intelligence and his cunning. You guys didn’t really think he was having car troubles or that he was actually knocked out on the ride to Alexandria, did you?
So at least that explains why he so conveniently had a flat.
He’s had to grow up fast, sure, but Korrl’s still a kid. The actor is only 16 as of now, and was 10 years old when the show started (depending on when S1 production began he may have even been 9 at the time). So if the 2 years timeline is true, he’s only ~12 in the show. That would be a major pedo angle if they went there.
Of course, as always when dealing with child actors and their tendency to grow up annoyingly fast, that creates some problems with timelines so depending on how long the show runs we might just have to fudge it a little and eventually pretend he’s been about 21 the entire time.
Somehow, I don’t think using “expired” toothpaste would pose that big of a problem, especially given the circumstances. Medications are also required to print expiration dates, but can still be perfectly fine for years afterwards.
It would actually be an interesting long-term experiment to see what becomes of toothpaste after 5, 10, 20+ years. Anyone have a time capsule from the 90s handy?
Last summer ; I came across a tube if toothpaste I had packed when I came home from the Philippines in 2004 or so. Out of curiosity I tried it; it was repulsive. Spit it out instantly.
It was rather light and funny compared to other recent episodes, and I appreciated the humor. I liked it.
Were I in Daryl’s or Rick’s shoes, I might have let him go the first time. I might even have let him go the second time. The third time, after not killing him twice and REGRETTING IT BOTH TIMES, I’d have filled the bastard with daylight…
Plainly, Jesus KNEW he was a main character… since, I, after the zombie apocalypse, would simply assume that armed strangers will kill me if I steal their truck of supplies. Jesus sure has a lot of confidence in the innate goodness of our heroes…
Well, the creators of the show were clearly telling us something with this episode: whether he’s many miles down the road or on the roof of your truck, it’s always super easy to find Jesus.
Now, is it Dianna or Deanna? I can never keep it straight. It’s a lot easier to spell Janeway, which is half the reason I like using that name for her. (The other half being that the characters are irritating in such a similarway. Amazing that two different actresses can pull that off!)
Yeah, I had no idea that was her until I looked her up on IMDB because of people calling the (other) actress in these threads Janeway. Seems like she gained a lot of weight since the Star Trek days.
