Noooooooooooo!!! Don’t do it!
Well, I finally called about an upcoming show that I had not received either an acceptance or a rejection letter for and found out that I had been accepted (yay) and that they had sent the acceptance letter to my old shop that I haven’t been at since 2009. I participated in this show in 2010 and they took the address from my old checks that had the shop address and this year they just kept the same thing again. :smack:
I did not want to get up so damn early, but I have to leave extra early so the sooner I got here the less hours I have to make up on Friday.
Today is going to be annoying. I have to videotape my boss, who has a bunch of meetings so we have to fit it between lunch and me leaving. Then I get to wait around for the cable guy to install my internet. I moved the piece of furniture that was blocking the outlet, but I still have a bunch of bins to move and he’ll have to work around my futon.
And my place is a giant mess again because I don’t feel like doing anything, and I’m out of food. It’s going to be one of those weeks.
Sky is rumbling & its coming down like monsoon season.
Will we get another email at irk like we did during last week’s soaking; owner of a black bmw, you left you’re sunroof open & your car is turning into a portable hottub! :smack:
Back from the north forty just in time to deal with a situation that has me full of grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Believe it or not, it ain’t about Hosebeast this time. One of our program participants “borrowed” money from somebody at the senior citizen’s center where she is training. This has been learned because the man’s daughter asked her father (she apparently looks after his finances) why he had withdrawn a couple hundred bucks from his savings account and he told her this. BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG NOOOOOOOOO NOOOOOOOOO!!!111111111 I have to go deal with this. I am considerin’ strongly urgin’ the man and/or his daughter to press criminal charges against her. Of course that’d be up to them. At the very least she WILL repay the money post haste and be kicked off the program immediately. She can voluntarily resign or be terminated for cause. Her choice.
First though, some N.O.L. to ease hunger and hopefully calm me down a bit.
 I hates thieves!!!
MOOOOOOM congrats on bein’ a productive, useful member of society again.
dang, swampy! You sure have to deal with your share of colorful characters… Does your organization set out to hire a percentage of bizarroes?? (Is *too *a designation…)
Dishes are done and sink is scrubbed. I’m thinking about getting the vacuum out and de-crudding the carpets. Maybe I’ll have lunch first. No need to rush into anything.
That’s over. It went, well, as well as it could have given the circumstances. She voluntarily resigned which is what I wanted because, well, it’s just easier paperirk wise. The man’s daughter is considering contacting the police. I’m not sure but maybe he has AD. It’s over for me however. Good.
MOOOOOOM those who were here before me signed up every friend, neighbor and relative they had I think. None of which should have ever happened, especially relatives. In the seven months I have been here I have slowly been gettin’ rid of folks and bringin’ on participants who I feel have a better than reasonable chance of employment and actually want to find a job which is the goal of the program. Also, since I am just a big ol’ meanie, I enforce the rules. Apparently that had not been happenin’.
StickyBuns I’m glad to know BubbaSchnoodle is applyin’ himself and learnin’ a trade.
I think I shall go to da cave shortly. I don’t wanna be here anymore today.
Just for gigity… a beer and cookin’ sump’n is definitely on the agenda.
Just talked to my MIL about their flight next week. She was worried because I made the reservation back in May and she wanted to be sure it was still good. She’s a very sweet lady, but she worries about the weirdest things. I think I’ve managed to reassure her - here’s hoping the weather doesn’t stop them from flying here next week.
Well it’s 105 in ye old Imperial Valley; supposed to get to 112 today, so not too bad. The storm that blew threw yesterday helped some, I think. Not quite as humid so far, so that’s nice.
The kitties got their first pre-approved walkabout in the yard today. We have a covered patio, with a little sidewalk that wraps around the house; they pretty much stayed on that, probably because even dirt gets hot, lol. As they’re very fluffy-coated kitties, I didn’t let them stay out longer than 20 minutes; not sure they’d recognize it if they were ‘too hot’. And of course Dresden, the big kitty who thinks he’s a dog, proved it again as he rolled around on the concrete like a dog in mud.
YARGH! I’m getting tired of hearing ads with “I’m ____ and I approve this message.”
At least DH is getting some money out of it, at least until the convention, but there’s some possibility of contnued employment after the incumbent accepts the nomination, so that’s certainly a plus.

At this time, I would like to point out that weather prediction is not a science, but a Black Art.

Around here, the weather forecasts are only good for however long it takes the weather person to walk from the window back into the TV studio.
