The Welcome To Autumn MMP

Had a nice weekend fishing with New Guy & his son, and while we were all tired and cranky by Sunday evening we did have a nice catfish fry-up. Mmmmm. Plus I got some heartachingly touching pictures of the two of them sitting side-by-side at the water’s edge.

On the other hand, while we packed enough stuff to supply a small national invasion, we did not pack … sunscreen. As the only white person on the expedition, that was apparently my personal responsibility, and I totally forgot, until it was mid-afternoon and far, far too late for damage control. I’ve caught a few double-takes at work today already.

Plus I overworked my quads and am not only bright red, but also limping.

Whatever. It was WORTH it!

doggio has implied that the MMP isn’t real life. What is it, then? :dubious:

Did you take forget to take your pills today?
:dubious:

Got off phone with lawyer and he is going to talk to mortgage guy and then put a fire under the butt of the seller/title company.

My lock in rate expires and it costs to extend it and the seller is going to have to pay for it. At this rate the seller will be losing money.

Hopefully this will all be settled soon and I can friggin move forward

Sari glad you got a lawyer involved. Maybe the bitchsters (HEE! Rosie) will understand you play hardball and get over themselves.

‘Tis all cloudy out but no rain/tstorms/apocalypse yet. Da cave is smellin’ all bbqriffic. (Is too a word!)

Shoe I loves me a good catfish fry. Around here we serve cheese grits and hush puppies along with the fish, slaw, and fries. YUM!!!

The MMP is about real life, so it* is* real life.
EmilyG’s logic anyway.

‘Tis rainin’. No tstorm or apocalypse however. I hereby declare irk is over for the day. OYKW has had enough as well, bless his heart. He says he’s leavin’ his orifice at four and is stayin’ the night. YAY!!! Ima go heat up the oil in deep fryer and start cookin’ up fries around four then. I’s hongry!

NOT a good day. Late for work (traffic), I suspect my phone’s battery needs to be replaced, and I’m currently waiting to have a dead car battery jumped.

…leaving his orifice?

That sucks man. Someone coming to help you?

I have an interview tomorrow. nervous!

Good luck with the interview tomorrow, Anaamika.

Don’t ask.

Please.

’mika orifice = office, just as irk = work. Appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed re the interview.

Dindin has been ingested. OYKW is preparin’ for a whirlpool bath. ‘Tis rainin’ really hard out. Life is good.

I have good roadside assist coverage and live in a good-size city. Took the nice guy with the cute little portable jump-start unit about half an hour to reach me and get my car running. I’m now typing from home, DH pulled the battery out of the car and now has it on a plug-in charger (we’re not certain how well the alternator is behaving). I really do not remember turning on the headlights today, but apparently did so, since I found the switch in the On position when I discovered the dead battery. I’m hoping none of my co-irkers “thought” it would be amusing to switch them on for me while the car was parked (I do leave the windows down. No one in their right mind would want to steal my 1997 clunker, and without working AC, I need to try to keep the inside temperature from climbing too high).

Best wishes on your interview.

Another visit to the DMV today. We started the registration process last week, but were detoured for needing a smog. Phooey! So on Saturday, I bought $48 worth of smog, and today, we went back. The DMV equivalent of a triage nurse put us in the “registration with an appointment” queue, which was nice, since we didn’t have an appointment.

At last, we have California licenses and California plates. I just can’t figure what they remodeled at that office. They were closed for several months, and there’s nothing obviously new there aside from the place being clean and the countertops aren’t all chipped and scribbled on. A regular business could arrange to scrub the floors, paint the walls and replace or resurface counters over a weekend, but it takes the state five months.

I got my Fall early warning today–purchased my first half gallon of eggnog today.

Makes those 18 nighttime polls go down easier!

Eggnog? Time to hit the Turkey Hill. I have a real weakness for eggnog.

Worked, was busy. Somebody shoplifed 5 watches tonight. Scum.

No, you said you only Facebook friend people you’ve met IRL. I simply added, “And Mumpers”

Alien, “nighttime polls”? Should i wave dollar bills at you?

Shoe, glad you had a good time. Use aloe.

sari, glad the closing costs are low. And hooray for getting in touch wiht a lawyer!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, caffienated, and purtified, so no YAWN. 'Tis 67 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 79 for the day. The first full day of Fall will be acutal Fall like weather.

OYKW is in the process of purtification. When he’s done, we shall go brekkify at Waffle House cause he has a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for a pee-kahn waffle. He’s buyin’ so I’m eatin’! I shall make tacos for dindin cause I have a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for tacos. When one has a gnawin’ and a cravin’ one must do what is necessary.

Alien I have a recipe for aignog that’s so full of whiskey that two small punch cups full will make you want to stand outside the neighbors houses and sing Christmas Carols. This, however, tends to annoy the neighbors so I try to refrain from doin’ so.

gotti yay for CA licenses and tags!

Ok, that’s all I got. I hear the sound of OYKW finishin’ up his purtification ritual. Soon we shall be out the door.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

I don’t believe I’ve ever had eggnog. What’s the recipe? I don’t really know the neighbours, so I don’t care what they think.

Today is, again, a waiting game- the horse place has all the leaflets now, and is ready to go… except they haven’t heard from my references yet. I don’t want to poke 'em again, 'cos taking two days is perfectly reasonable, but I have an interview again tomorrow, which leaves only two days this week to hopefully get started. And one of those days I was planning on helping out at the student juggling club stand.

On that note, I ain’t a happy bunny- the stoopid student union appears to have chucked the club out of the big room they’ve had for years, because they don’t have enough members. There are two large issues with this: firstly, it’s a few days before the annual fair where they get members, (having missed last year, but there’s a whole new, more interested committee) so the number now is pretty well irrelevant, and secondly, a bunch of people doing circus stuff need loads of space, far more than a larger group doing something less silly! The room they’ve been offered is far too tiny to be useable.

Apparently they won’t even look at reconsidering until January, by which point most of the new people will probably quit because there’s not enough going on.

Oh well. Nothing I can do about it.
