The Welcome To Autumn MMP

I had already started shaving when I picked up on the trembling hands. Running to the fridge for OJ while buck nekkid is always fun.:smiley:

**BBBobbio **- you could always just grow a beard! Which reminds me - I came home to a sweetie with a goatee instead of a full beard. He said he kinda goofed when shaving one morning, and the only way to fix the goof was to shave more. It threw me for a loop when I first saw him - he kinda looked like one of his brothers.

We just ran to WalMart so I could get shoe laces and finish the slippers I’d made on the ship. I have to put wings on my last bumble bee slipper, then make up an inventory sheet and get them over to the store. This weekend is the second anniversary celebration - with luck lots of folks will show up and buy stuff.

Meanwhile, still drizzly and dreary. Mostly sunny for the next 3 or 4 days, so yay! After 4 weeks of mostly dreary, I am so ready for sun!!

Well, first day driving round the countryside dropping off newsletters. Not bad. It’s for a nice place, so people were generally happy to take 'em.

Having another day of it tomorrow, which means I’m not going to be able to make the student fair after all, which is OK as they’ve got enough students to man it for once. I’m also not going to be able to make the first session 'cos of a stoopid wimmin’s football match. Bah.

I don’t like the wimmin’s football: they’re really disorganised, and we’re just there to get grumped at by people annoyed by the venue’s lack of planning. Plus it’s at the low pay rate. Not getting enough irk to turn it down though…

I may have to close my bedroom window it’s chilly outside.

Nice photos Moooommmm
The ship is way more impressive than I pictured it.

I think I’ll take a nap. I’m logged in at irk but I think there is something wrong with the lines. I get calls but there is nothing but silence on the line. May as well log out and take a nap.

My nieces husband is coming over to fix something in the attic. I didn’t get the whole story as to what happened, something about the wind and rain blowing a vent in or something?

Hey, send that cool weather and rain my way, please!

Good friend came over last night – haven’t seen her in a while, haven’t seen her spaniel in longer. We had lots of girl-chat time, especially while walking her poochie, while New Guy grilled us up some (surprisingly tender) chuck steaks. Leftovers are here with me at work for lunchtime. Stayed up waaaayyyy too late (Mountain Dew was involved, and also, uh, some more adult beverages*) and woke up before my alarm because my apt. mngmnt. likes to send the landscaping crew out at the butt-crack of dawn. I think an early bedtime is on my agenda tonight … but it was worth it!

  • Mountain Dew + tequila = a quite tasty ersatz pseudo-margarita

**sari **- the public areas are really fancy-schmancy. I don’t have any pictures of the dining rooms, but those are really nice also. Heck, even the buffet area was classier than your run-of-the-mill Golden Corral. There was lots of marble (or faux marble - I can’t tell) all over the place, and expensive looking prints hanging in the stairwells. All the waiters/waitresses wore fancy vests with dark pants and white shirts. On formal nights, the servers wore tuxedo-like uniforms - many of them putting diners to shame. Like the guy who showed up on formal night wearing a #$(^#!&% cowboy hat in the dining room. Nice look, dude…

I’m getting my batch of slippers ready for the store. The red laces we bought were way too long, so I need to go back and get another pair. Meanwhile, I need to figure out what to charge. I hate that part.

Still drizzly and dreary out. ucky day.

I never took my nap, I still need it.
The company called and it’s my phone, not on their end. However I am not the only one to have had this problem so they are aware of it. Their suggestion is when it happens is to log out and then log back in.

FCM the ship looks beautiful. Iceland looks nice.

I’ getting hungry, I haven’t eaten anything but a few crackers. I think my nieces husband is leaving so then I’ll get something to eat. I don’t like to cook and eat something in front of other people unless I have enough to share.

I have decisions to make and my friends are making me crazy.
Well some of them anyway.
I told one I had the keys to the house even though I hadn’t settled yet and she texted back how she had never heard fo such a thing and I was crazy and who is responsible if the house gets broken into or vandalized - like I am totally stupid and didn’t ask all those questions.

Another thinks I should get my furniture from a rent to own place, that way if I don’t like it I can send it back. I don’t like rent to own, I think they are a rip off and I understand some of their reasoning (if you have electronics and it breaks they replace it for free) but I want to buy not rent. That friends acts like* it’s only a couple hundred a month to rent* is not a big deal. Uh, yeah it is.
However I checked out Arons and RAC online and neither one will post prices online and if you won’t tell me what it costs then I think you are out to rip me off. I’m sure their line is don’t think of how much it costs, you’ll only be paying $x per week. They always do the weekly cost because it sounds so easy, who can’t afford $25/week? Except $25/week is $100+/month and then they will add in other things for only another $10/week. I’ve seen so many friends fall into that trap. If they saved the easy weekly payments in three to six months they could afford to pay cash.

That said everyone who has seen the house thinks I should put a stacked washer/dryer in my kitchen. The basement stairs are steep. However stacked washer/dryer sets are expensive and then I still have to have the plumbing and wiring put in. In the long run it may be worth it, I have to think about it and get some estimates on the work.
I found a portable washer/dryer that you can roll across the kitchen and hook up to the sink. It’s not bad price wise and has a lot of 5 star ratings.
I’ve had that kind of dishwasher before and it’s a pain but not that big of a pain.
Now I’m asking for everyones opinion.

sari, the RTO furniture is a rip off in more than just the prices they charge. The quality is the cheapest stuff that can be made. My first factory job was in a furniture factory and even our dodgy owner refused to downgrade production quality to it.

I got out today to go to the credit union. The short term disability checks didn’t have the option of being direct deposited, so I have to go to the next town over to take care of that. I picked up a couple of tacos from the decent take out taquiria. They were tasty and something that I didn’t have to cook. :stuck_out_tongue:

A high level executive decision has been made. Orderin’ pizza for dindin. I’ll even go pick it up as it’s easier to get to from the orifice which I shall leave shortly. Plus I can order online and have a coupon!

Sah, I rented furniture once, when we lived in a short term apartment after a drunk and stoned driver parked his truck in my living room. Renting was a budget killer, even with State Farm picking up most of the tab.

See if you can find a place that deals in high end used furniture instead.

Because that’s when the class IS, silly bear.

Evening classes do work better around scheduling my irk hours.

Sahirrnee, if you don’t mind assembling furniture yourself, I like Home Reserve for sofas and such. I have a nice sectional I got from them, that even has storage compartments in it, and it’s very modular, so you can change out arms, the fabric or foam on just one piece if it gets damaged, etc.

Glad you agree, cuz there ain’t much I can do about it either way. Itchy, itchy, itchy!

I wondered about the quality Red, and Bobbio that is what I figured. Even when they are offering 90 days same as cash I figure there is a catch in there somewhere. There are quite a few antique/secondhand stores in the area. The lady at the cable company told me about the great deal she got on her dining set.
Thank you for the link Nettie, I’m checking that out.

I hate to shop, hate it. Even if I had a lot of money I’d still hate to shop.

I had a nap and my head feels better now.

Chinese food for dinner tonight.
I am so lazy today.

Pizza has been ingested. Then we had ummm… “dessert”, and OYKW went to his place. All in all a good time was had by all.

Sari decent furniture is definitely worth the price, but you know that.

Nettie I was all :dubious: about your suggestion of put together furniture, but I gotta admit there’s some nice stuff on that there site.

I see a lot I like there.

Chicken and broccoli for dinner. Sah-son swiped my egg roll. I’ll ask hm if he wants one and he always says no, so this time I didn’t ask. Now he wants one.

We let Salsa’s make supper - I had the shrimp tacos - yum yum yum!!

I’ve got all my slippers ready for the store. Plus I made a cupcake hat, and I’m about to finish another - they’re cuuuuuute!! So, off to crochet I go. MWAH!

A cupcake hat? Would that be like frostin’?

I think this shall be a melatonin and early bedtime kinda night for da bear.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

I fixed some Tom Kar soup for supper. It needed more ginger than what I had, but isn’t bad.

So the Board ate my morning post. I worked, bought groceries, walked Gordie. I’m having chili and oven roasted brocolli for dinner. I’m off tomorrow.

sari, i have a lot of Target put it together furniture. Not high quality, but I have a history of dogs who get a gnawing and a craving for gnawing on my furniture.

Shoe ,Mountain Dew also goes well with moonshine.
