Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 67 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 82 for the day. Today is also payday. I mention this because last week several of y’all seemed confused about payday.
You connoisseur of fine liquor you!
Red I first read your post as Tom Kat soup and was makin’ a mental note to politely decline all invitations to dinner when I realized my mistake.
Ok, that’s all I got. I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy is hongry. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. Oh well, at least 'tis Firday.
We stayed up late to watch that new series “How to Get Away with Murder” - neither of us was impressed and I won’t waste my time any more. Still, I was up till 11!!! We got up around 7, and I’ve showered, dressed, and started the first load of jeans in the washer. The sky is clear and the sun is coming up - YAY!
**swampy **- cupcake hats are cute little hats for kids - the band is a ribbed crochet to resemble cupcake paper and the rest of the hat is the “frosting” - I did one in “chocolate” with multi-colored “sprinkles” embroidered on it. The other is light purple “frosting” with a pom pom on top. They’ll be going to the store this afternoon with the slippers.
**FCD **has the truck loaded for a trip to the convenience center. I’ve got tons of laundry to do but I can only do as much as will fit on the lines - the rest will be done tomorrow, and maybe the next day. Beyond that, we’ll wing it, because that’s what retirees do.
Speaking of late nights and retirees, the cruise director on the ship came up with a good one. After the shows in the evening, he’d come out and list the remaining activities for that day plus some of what was coming up the next day. One evening he was talking about the various club venues on board, specifically the Skywalker Lounge, which was supposed to be a disco, I think. He was saying “The other night, we had people in there as late as 1, 2, even 3… minutes after 11!!” Did I mention I was pretty much the baby on board? I don’t think I saw a dozen people younger than I on the whole trip.
I watched the devils advocate last night. Keanu Reeves is not a good actor unfortunately . a lot of good movies are ruined by his presence. But other than him it was great!
It’s bright sunny and cool outside, 63 degrees with a high of 75 predicted.
Beautiful day.
I need to do some laundry. I keep forgetting that I’m not limited to Tuesdays and Saturdays anymore.
I wonder when the HFH are going to get the rest of their junk out of here, mom keeps putting more stuff on their pile. Not that it really matters to me.
They should be ashamed of themselves, they haven’t taken the bird yet. I looked at the bird the other night and thought he looked hungry. Sah-son put some food in his cup and the poor bird went right over to start eating.
We probably should check his food cup again.
I have to get busy planning my move, this house doesn’t feel like home anymore and I’m ready to get out there and set up. As far as I know closing is still set for Tuesday. I dread moving though, even though I don’t have a lot it makes me tired to look at what I do have to move.
It’s quiet here at the orifice. Too quiet. Scarey quiet. Especially on a payday. No whineage has happened. The phone has rung once and that was to confirm an appointment for next week. It’s been great in that I’ve gotten a lot of those little things that need to be done but get put off things. However, there is this air of impendin’ doom. I just know all heck shall break loose.
MOOOOOOM I suppose some folks will stick anything on top of a kids haid. Hope they sell beyond your wildest expectations.
I actually really liked that movie and think he should have stuck to that kind of stuff. Really serious roles are not for him. And by gum, what an awful Southern accent!
Hush! They’re adorable!!!
I’ve got 3 loads of laundry out on the lines, and 3 more loads to be done tomorrow. One suitcase can hold a LOT of dirty clothes, especially when folded right.
Itchy, itchy, itchy. I have new respect for my little python when he’s shedding his skin. I feel like I’m doing the exact same thing, except I have fingers that allow me to 1.) apply lotion and aloe and 2.) scritch itchy spots gently and 3.) more lotion.
Poor snakey doesn’t even have hands. I think of that every time he eats: watching him “walk” his mouth over the mouse, I have to figure he’s thinking, “Man, I could go for a fork and knife right about now, or at least hands!”
Itchy, itchy, itchy.
Oh, and someone I work with leapfrogged over several tiers of corporate hierarchy and went directly to the COO about some relatively minor grievances … and my name was dropped so I’m sucked in. Meeting is set for Monday afternoon. Been sleepless thinking about it, running various conversation scenarios through my head, rehearsing possible responses. BAH!
So nervous-insomnia, and itchy, which leads quickly to more sleeplessness. hugs bottle of Z-Quil
MOOOOOOM egads! Then again they will make for the perfect embarrasin’ pic to show the little nipper’s prom date.
Shoe odds are the COO already knows what a snotty whiner the complainer is, so probably not anything to sweat.
Leftover pizza for N.O.L. 'Twas good. Steak, sallit, and N.O.T. for dindin tonight. Ima try a recipe wherein one makes little slices almost all the way through a N.O.T., drizzles it with olive oil and sprinkles sea salt and bakes in the oven. I figure it will either be good or sump’n to never try again. We shall see. I saw the recipe on facebook. A cousin (whom I trust as she’s an excellent cook) tried it and said it was pretty good.
You guys don’t know nuttin’! The cupcake hats are adorable!!!
I just put 2 trays of oatmeal cookies in the oven, just because I felt like we needed something sweet to nosh on. Plus it’s cool enough out that the house is open, so we’re not having battle of the oven vs. air conditioner.
**FCD **just went to take a nap, and when my cookies are done, I’m going to take my crocheted creations to the store in time for this weekend’s anniversary bash. I’ve been selling stuff there for 2 years now, and I bet I’ve made all of $500-$600 in that time! My latest check is for $6.28 - yeah, it’s a post-retirement bonanza!!!
It’s 70F here today. We are having a last gasp of summer over the weekend – highs in the 80s. Then down back into the low 60s next week. I love it.
If sugar is not totally off the menus…Ben and Jerry’s frozen Greek honey caramel yogurt. I know, I know. I had a bad frozen yogurt experience in the 90s and never tried it again. But this stuff…omg.
120 calories a serving. Top with fresh fruit. It’s delicious.
