"The world's goin' to hell but I'm still here" MMP

Howdy Y’all! Been a day of both sloth and productivity. The productivity part was makin’ some chawklit pee-kahn brownies for immediate consumption plus some deviled aigs for tomorrow. EYP is outta town and the sub-Priest we had comin’ got taken ill, so tomorrow’s service will be Ante-Communion which is essentially everything that happens before Communion. That means it is hyped up Morning Prayer. Anywho, we have made the executive decision to join virtually tomorrow since I don’t have any kind of duty. Thus, we shall have a big home cooked Sunday N.O,L. of fried chikin, peas, butterbeans and okra cooked together, fresh creamed corn, squish casserole, smashed N.O.T. 'n gravy and cornbread. Plus deviled aigs. We have not had deviled aigs in a while so we are woefully deficient in our deviled aig consumption.

Shoe I like to get an early start on the daily sloth. Plus I need to get up early enough so I can be sleepy enough for nappage. It’s all about the priorities.

red what creative thing does Nelson intend to do? Switch which side he is nappin’ on? Munch on a treat in a different spot?

Finally home undamaged despite a few near misses. Much automotive idiocy out there.

DH’s Bronco has been ordered, and Ford has acknowledged receiving the order from the dealership. I even won on what color we’re getting. He was leaning toward Area 51, which is a dreary vaguely bluish-gray. I convinced him to get Velocity, which is a much brighter blue. Prettier and easier to find in a parking lot. Test drive (granted, a different variant than what we’re actually getting, but pretty close) was great. I covet the blind-spot warning system for my own car (2016 Dodge Dart).

Lunch on the way home was at Denny’s. DH reported his chicken-fried steak was OK but not exactly exciting (normal for that dish from any source, AFAICT). My salmon was tasty. We both ordered from the senior menu figuring that was likely to yield more moderate portion sizes (we average to 55yo, so IMO we qualified for that menu).

Home and in the new inactivewear lounging outfit the Jungle delivered, along with my last shelving unit, which will go up tomorrow. Monday, must further battle FedEcchs.

I must agree I am not a fan of those new vaguely pastel vehicle colors like the Area 51. I’ve seen a bunch of those around here and they just seem…I dunno, lazy. Like I didn’t really want to pick a color, so something near a color is ok.

Now on to serious slothage–the Sox won, it rained all day, maybe some mowage tomorrow, but doubtful.

I love this phrase.

Link to my Bronco, as I ended up ordering it.

I really want the hard top, but the dealer said that getting the soft top, for now, will likely cut about six months from the wait time. After the test drive, today, we both agreed that we can live with the soft top, until we can get a hard top to install in its place. As it is, we’re probably looking at waiting until the middle of 2022 to receive our Bronco.

I went in with very high expectations, a perfect setup to be disappointed. I can now report that the Bronco that we test drove utterly, completely failed to disappoint us in any way. Even @Seanette was visibly excited by it by the time we left.

They named a paint color after a highly classified AFB that’s been the subject of conspiracy theories? Were the aliens supposedly a dreary bluish-gray?

I frequently suspect paint manufacturers of naming new colors by way of a few sets of those word refrigerator magnets, dumped into a bag/shaken/drawn from like Scrabble tiles.

swampy, Nelson did some creative napping, switching from one part of the studio to the other. :stuck_out_tongue:

seanette, I absolutely love the blind spot indicator on my car.

Some years back, we had a brown car. Only it wasn’t brown, at was Antelope. Looked brown to me…

The rain is done and gone. The moon is shining, the temp is dropping. The front has moved thru. And it’s almost bed time…

I thawed my last frozen bowlful of homemade chicken broth, simmered with carrots and tiny alphabet noodles, augmented with quite a bit of gelatin.

I AM IN HEAVEN.

Kill me now, I could die happy at this moment.

shoe bang, die happy. Enjoy the soup.

Had a long rant that I decided better not to post. Just let the irritation ebb, rather than escalate.

G’night all.

Leftover prime rib for dinner. And bourbon. Think I’ll go to bed soon. Da Missus has just gone to bed.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 50 Amurrkin out (BRRR! Will there be an iceberg in the cee-mint pond?) and clear with a predicted high of 77 and N.O.S. for the day. ‘Tis Fall weather! As I mentioned already, we shall deheathenate virtually this mornin’ and have a big ol’ Sunday N.O,L. which down here is called a big ol’ Sunday dinner. It will be the meal of the day as any other need to feed will be via forage. I got a text askin’ if I would be Crucifer this mornin’ but I declined to do so. Sloth and nappage shall take up the rest of the day.

Nettie and Bob yay for the new wheels! Hope you get 'em sooner than the middle of next year. Denny’s is, well, Denny’s. Not a gourmet experience but you get fed and usually it’s not awful.

red Nelson is into my kind of creativity.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I shall clean myself up and do some prep work for Sunday dinner. Envy my life.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Didn’t sleep in quite as long as yesterday, but I still made it to 6:30 - huzzah!

Critters have been tended and I think FCD is up and about - we’re going out to breakfast this morning and if he’s up, I need to get moving also.

It’s 50° outside and 63° in the greenhouse - I think I’m going to put another layer of plastic over and around it and see how that does. If I need to move everything into the basement, I need to do it before the plants get too big.

Roxy had a bit of a fever yesterday, so we won’t be going over there today - FCD doesn’t need to get her cold. He’s dealing with enough agony. So it will be a day of slothage at home.

Happy Sunday!!

Good morning!

Up, caffeinating, breakfasting and pretty much chilling. After KP, it will be the usual Sunday chores, then to bed early to get up at Oh-stupid-thirty for irk.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. It was 50 when I too Gordie out, so now I have a lap cat on to warm up.

Thinking up booby traps for The Invisible Mole People, of course.

Actually, yes.

Enjoy the Bronoc, Bob and Nettie.

Morning all. Got my 8 hours of sleep so feel ready for the day. Taking the kids to the local college soccer games–the girls wanted to see the women’s game at 1:00pm and the boys are going to the men’s game at 3:30pm. Admission is free so that should help bring some more folks out. And it’s going to be clear and about 65F, or just about a perfect fall day.

Need to check if the newspaper is outside and rescue it. May have to kick on the heater for the first time this season, house is down to 69F, which is cold for me.

shoe, I’ve decided not to kill you now, you’re too much fun hanging around the MMP.

OK, everyone go forth (or stay home) and have a great Sunday.

Good morning everyone.

It’s supposed to be cloudy with an expected high in the low fifties today.

Other than doing some laundry, I shall not be doing much in the chores arena. I have somehow managed to really, really mess up my left wrist. To be honest, it’s been bothering me for a little over a year. Sometimes it’s really painful and I lose all strength in the wrist and hand because the pain shoots into my hand. Yesterday, however, I was doing some virtual reality gaming with my husband and son and I somehow injured my wrist badly. At first, I thought it was just a case of the same old problem and that it would go away soon, but nope it still really hurts, and any movement beyond the most minimal results in pain. I shall be calling the doc tomorrow. For now, I’ve got a wrist wrap on and I’ve taken ibuprofen for the pain. Ironically, there really isn’t any swelling, so I don’t know how much the ibuprofen will help.

I’m glad you like the new rig, seanette and Bob! May you drive many carefree and fun miles with it.

There really isn’t a lot to report from my little corner of the world. All seems quiet for the moment. I hope you all have a most pleasant day!

Afternoon all.

It rained heavily overnight here, but the sun’s been peeping out through the clouds a fair bit- not that it really matters, as I’m sat inside doing skool irk.

I have no classes next week, so I was planning on taking the weekend a bit easier, but I have been informed that the parents are Coming To Visit later in the week, so I’ll be missing a day I was planning on dedicating to getting caught up with the assignment I just got, before being issued with 3 more in the following 3 weeks. I haven’t actually seen them since the Christmas before last, so I should be lookin forward to seing them, but… well… my mother does have a bit of steamroller somewhere in her ancestry, and we generally get on better when we don’t see each other much, if I’m honest.

I’ve nearly done with the first assignment at least, I think. Maybe I should go walkies while the weather’s vaguely acceptable. Maybe.

Your mother sounds quite a bit like mine.

Well, it’s brilliantly sunny today in western Mitten State. Blindingly so. I don’t much care for it - every surface that’s painted white or is metal becomes a point of pain - but the cats seem happy.
So no matter the weather, SOMEone in mi casa is happy while someone else is irritated.

Off to work I go, hi-ho. At least I have tomorrow off.

ETA: gotta scoop the main litter box tonight, then roll the stinky bin out. Secondary litter box in the basement got a full change yesterday.
