"The world's goin' to hell but I'm still here" MMP

Red my condolences to you and your cousin. {{{hugs}}}

I scheduled my COVID booster shot: I’ll be getting it on Friday morning, at a nearby CVS. Thursday will mark six months since I got my second Pfizer shot, and I’m in the “50+ with underlying medical conditions” camp the CDC says should get a booster. And since I have at least two upcoming hospital visits — I’m having an endoscopy next week, and will eventually get my weight loss surgery — I figure getting one more shot is a no-brainer. I’ll take all of the protection I can get! I have no plans for Saturday, just in case there are side effects from #3.

I spent all afternoon feeling sleepy. Like, I could have taken a nap at just about any time. There was no reason for me to be tired, plus normally my tired is just “I want to go sit on the couch with my dog and watch TV.” I don’t usually feel sleepy. I’m mostly past it now (just feeling normal tired), but I think dinner might have started and ended with the mozarella sticks I had a little while ago. I got a pizza with them, but put it in the fridge without so much as picking off a piece of pepperoni. I blame the weather, because it’s been cool and overcast and damp all day. The dog has also not been having it today: she hasn’t wanted to go outside since this morning, and only ate a tiny bit of her dinner before jumping back on the couch and snoozing again. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny, but I’ll be at the office most of the day so I’ll miss most of it.

I’ll be leaving work NLT 3:30pm tomorrow so that I’m home and online in time for my 4:30pm video appointment with the cardiologist. I’ve regained all of my perspective regarding the surgery delay, but I can’t wait to finally get more info about my heart-related diagnosis and what needs to be done before I can reschedule.

I am truly sorry about your family grief, but ^^ made me happy for you. Your boss will remember that great first impression!

Snacked on bits of Gouda, and some potato chips’n’dip while stitching a bit more. (I’m addicted to this newest project, the rainbow spiral.)

The milk’s gone bad, but I got (store-bought - don’t judge!) egg salad the other day, and fresh bread.
Perhaps egg salad on toast … I might fix some soup to go with it.

(In kitty news, they both got catnip and are presumably high.)

Must needs eat something, but am not feeling like making anything. The mozz sticks mentioned above sound promising, I think I’ve got some in the freezer that the air fryer would knock out shortly. Still, no motivation.

Boy, howdy, you got that one right … and you have my complete & utter sympathy.

Hey, if the other Mumpers can poke me about not eating, then I can gently give you a lil’ bit of shit about it, too.

EAT SOMETHING, DAMMIT!

Red you get a new job? Also **Red sorry for your loss. ** Shoe you still slinging weed? I guess I should go back and read to catch up.

I napped way late so shall probably stay up late and sleep in. I have a lunch date but not a date date tomorrow. I’m going to be a lady who lunches. That will be twice in one week as my friend from irk took me out yesterday while the car was being serviced.

I need a good new series to watch on either Netflix or Hulu. Any suggestions.

“Longmire” on Netflix
“Brooklyn 99” on Hulu
Law and Order:SVU-Hulu

'K, thanks shoe. I hotted up some bush’s beans and tossed in some sausage. Filled me up, now thinking of an ice cream sammich for dessert.

Butters “What We Do In the Shadows” on Hulu. Also, “Reservation Dogs” and “Only Murders in the Building.”. If’n ya got’s the Amazon, there’s new “Leverage.”

Thanks for the idea~I may have baked beans on sourdough toast for dinner. If I manage to move that much.

Y’all are all having A DayTM today {{{{hugs}}}}

Yeah, I do not see myself moving north again.

Oh, another Hulu one: “New Tricks” it’s a British show, retired cops come back to tackle cold cases.

Be careful I’ve had 30 scammers call me about various"amazon purchases on hold" for thousands of dollars wanting them to give me info, and it’s only since I actually made a 50 dollar purchase of some really hard to find a specific style of decorative paper we use for Halloween … so they might be confusing one of those calls …

Oh, how I hate that series!!! Mariska H. looks like she’s always sucking on lemons. Plus the stories depress me. To be fair, I pretty much don’t like any of the L&O franchise.

They don’t shop on line so they know such calls are BS. But this wasn’t a phone call, it was a notification via Alexa.

Taz has forgiven me. He likes my lap more than he dislikes the vet  I massaged FCD’s leg, so it wasn’t a totally lazy evening. We’re going on a breakfast date in the morning, then we’ll work in the shop till my sweetie gets tired. That’s as much planning as we dare.

ahh ok, the first time we ever got those calls my aunt thought I was buying stuff online again and had a fit until she realized the amazon card doesn’t have 1400 dollars on it (yet)…

“Maid” on Netflix. One season miniseries.

Wow so many options. I just finished “Maid”. I do have Amazon. Just started and am on Episode 3 of PURE about a Mennonite Mob. Probably won’t stick with it though. Thanks All.

Evening all. All 12 boys were at practice tonight, but the sun is heading downward not much after 6:15pm, so practice was short. I’ll take them to the lighted field on Friday, not many teams practicing then and it’ll be a treat to play “under the lights”.

Dinner was the usual 2sday Mac-n-Cheese, and I filled up the gas tank for this month, so I have been a modestly responsible human today. Tomorrow is the only weekday I don’t have soccer practice scheduled, so may do something around the house (or not).

shady, I get those calls too, about a $799 or something purchase on Amazon they want to check about, I just hang up and since I check my credit cards at least twice a week, I’ll catch any bogus charges myself.

shoe, butters, I’ve been on my own since I last left my parents house at 27; would be hard for me to have to share space now. Ah well, the different lives we live.

Oopsie, thanks for the reminder, I’ve passed the 6 month limit (9 April) so need to get my COVID booster scheduled. Also need the flu and pnuemonia shots. And to think I used to have an almost pathological hate of needles…

red, you’re providing an anchor for daughter and Sis; be strong. And yeah, a scooter vs and SUV often ends up with a bad case of dead. Glad the job is starting well.

shoe, laugh about hemorroids now, but one of these days…

talky, sounds like they FUBAR’ed the appointment, not you. I’d be rather annoyed with them and want an appointment sooner than two weeks.

Sari, I just love your dog tales (or dog tails?). And yes, canines are skeptical of changes in their routine.

OK, need to do some internettin’ and readin’ before bedtime, so all y’all take care and I’ll catch up with you on 2sday.

I’m getting soft. :frowning: When I first moved here, I was all toughened by Wyoming weather and scoffed at people who didn’t want to walk in the rain. Today it was quite chilly and drizzly when I left for the store, and I almost turned back. Someone peel me a grape, wouldst?

I talked to my sister today. She sounded cheerful but was vague on what’s causing the fluid retention. If she isn’t better in 3 weeks, the doc will start running tests. I would’ve thought they’d do tests first instead of going right to diuretics, but what do I know? My siblings and I are quite worried, but there’s nothing we can do.

I just can’t watch it: brings back bad memories. I like the original L&O though.

red, hope you and your family find some peace.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.

Do you like eye candy Butters? Sherlock is fun. Dr. Watson is even cuter than when he was a hitchhiker and Moriarty is one of the most fabulous bad guys ever.

I’ve been watching the last season of the Great British Baking Show while stitching. They actually quarantined in their bubble for the entire season.

It hasn’t gotten warmer than 70F today and I’m thinking that I need to yank the maters. I just can’t bring myself to do it cause there are so many almost ripe maters hanging on the vines.

I forgot that the housekeeper was going to be here tomorrow so cleared off the surfaces so she could do her thing. I like to spend my dispensary points on pre-rolls and she always is happy to get one as a tip. I don’t think I have needles on the floor, but I’ll remind her anyhow because she doesn’t wear shoes inside and I would hate for her to get a needle in the toe.

If my booster doesn’t make me magnetic so I stop dropping needles I’m going to demand my money back! Mom says her shots are defective as well, she doesn’t have a housekeeper and her needles end up getting stuck in her vacuum hose. (I’m going to be so happy when she moves her permanently. She’s having a lot of issues with dealing with daily life stuff and deserves to have her kid take care of her for a while.)
