The WoW "Burning Dog Legion" (Cairne/Horde) 10-man Raid List.

The problem with VoA is that the last boss does drop T10 and Frost badges, so most people who are at that gear level are going to be saved to it, and might not want to get saved to a run that’s only going to clear the earlier bosses. You’ll also probably have a hard time finding people to PUG in who’re willing to only do the earlier bosses.

ETA: The bosses get “harder” only in the sense of having more HP and hitting harder. IMO, the “hardest” boss is actually the second one, Emalon, since he requires the most strategy on the part of *everyone *involved. (Mainly, the problem is that if the DPS doesn’t switch to the right add at the right time, it’s a wipe.)

I agree – the third one (the fire guy) is actually pretty easy as long as you don’t *stand in the damn fire.

I don’t think we should plan on VoA just because it’s too hard to predict when it will be available. I’d hate giving up a chance to run it on the weekend and then have it not available on Monday. Most of the time I don’t get to do it at all.

Got it. I think VoA will be a ‘addon’ type run. Like if we finish with Ulduar in 30 minutes :D, or more likely, we fail on a boss. AND no ones saved then we’ll give it a shot. It sounds like Horde hasn’t been winning VoA much, so maybe we’ll catch a break on raid lockouts (and since we run on Mondays those lockouts will get reset the next day for those who may do it during the week)

I setup the new raid for Uld10. Same dog-time, same dog-channel.

Skill/strategy has very little to do with it when there’s 100+ Alliance on the field versus the Horde’s 35

I’m in Bird.

As for VoA…I’ve noticed the last couple of weeks when I’m on…(after 10pm PDT), the Horde manages to capture (and also has defended!) WG…I got in last week and we took out the frost boss and fire boss although the drops were nothing of interest to me…I usually finished 6th or 7th on the DPS list for the 25man VoA, so I am a contributor. I think we can pull a 10man there.

Last night, I just did my first ICC10 run…took 4 attempts to take down Marrowgar and after 5 attempts, gave up on Deathwhisper. We just could not keep up with the adds turning into those large fanatics which one shotted most of the group or two shotted the tanks. Lots of fun though…except for the trips to the smithy.

Grats on the Marrowgar kill!

Deathwhisper can be bad if the DPS don’t know what to do. With high DPS the fight is trivial (because the adds die before they are transformed).

In particular it sounds like you were having trouble with the Deformed Fanatic (the hulk-looking things) - they need to be kited (either by a hunter using Distracting Shot - which is what I usually do, or by a tank just running away). He generally can’t just be tanked (especially if there are other adds up as well) because he hits pretty damn hard (they melee for 30k on a plate tank in 25s, as well as doing a cleave and some sort of shadow damage). The should be the number one kill priority for all ranged DPS while they are up.

Grats, Yeti. Deathwhisper is another example of a fight where I’m glad to be a healer. I just have to stand in the middle and heal/debuff whoever needs it. Once or twice a fight I’ll have to move to get out of death & decay but that’s it. I don’t know why people complain that it’s a difficult fight

So this week’s weekly is Sartharion - do we want to put off the Ulduar run to try and get the weekly plus Sarth+2? (And then, modulo wipes, get a start on Uld.)

Personally I’d rather glom onto a Sarth pug this weekend and save all our Monday night time for Ulduar. I’m nervous about finding 10 people on Monday who aren’t already locked.

Sounds good, we’re still planning on Uld10 as our primary focus.

Well, after arguing that we should be doing Ulduar and not OS, I realized this weekend that I probably won’t be able to raid at all tonight. My parents are in town, so it would be kind of rude for me to excuse myself from their company to raid.

I might do some half-assed questing while we are watching TV, but nothing that will require the attention that Ulduar would. So I RSVP’d as “Tentative” but you should probably plan on me not being there, unfortunately. Good luck though! Wish I could make it!

There are actually hidden mechanics that give one faction a progressively larger advantage when the opposing side has won WG too many times in a row. There are also the visible mechanics that give outnumbered players in a given zone more health/damage/etc.

As has been observed, the zombies shouldn’t ever be tanked. They should always be kited. IME, the tank who currently has aggro when one of the adds goes Deformed calls it out on Vent and starts running. That target then has kill priority until it’s dead.

Well we only have 7 confirmed for tonight and 1 tentative. However no tanks. Well no Reins or Ama, I could go Lightbird, but we couldn’t do Uld with him tanking. Maybe Jsor could (he’s certainly geared for it). If not, then maybe back to Naxx for some fun/training. We’ll either pick up some PuGers or call it pretty quickly (half hour at most) I’d rather get people back to questing/playing rather than wait around. I’m sure that we’ll be back on our feet in a week.

I’d be in favor of at least taking on Flame Leviathan in Ulduar, which is a 100% vehicle fight and hence won’t be sabatoged by lack of tanks. And I can definitely bring Muzungu along instead of Rumpole, though of course I don’t know the fights (I’ve done razorscale once as a dps and that’s it).

Well the attempt was good. The attempt to get a group together that is. We only ended up with 7 so we decided to send 5 of us into PoS. But whoops, I put us in normal and not heroic so it was super easy. It WAS nice to pull Rottingbird off the shelf. I think I was waiting for a frost emblem chest piece, but decided to UG a couple rings first. Figured 2 items are better than 1.
So next week we’ll try to go into Uld again.

I think my parents are leaving Sunday, so I should be good for Uld on Monday. At least I was able to get my pally Keyne up to 54… only four more levels to the Portal!

I was tanking that run, and didn’t realize we were in Normal until we killed the first boss and he dropped a 2-handed mace, which I remembered him dropping in another normal PoS run. But I’d THOUGHT we had been knocking over the trash a little faster than I was used to.

It was kind of fun to get back to tanking. Now that Rumpole is basically as geared up as anything short of frost emblems will get him, I might bring Muzungu out of semi-retirement on occasion.

Yeah, I know about those – they don’t really do squat when you’re as grossly outnumbered as we usually are. The only times we ever win WG are when we have less than 3 stacks of Tenacity, which is maybe 2-3 times per week during off-hours. It’s all good though, my priest finally lost her 25th WG, which is what I needed to get the crit trinket I wanted

Yeah, the imbalance on some servers really is ridiculous. I wish Blizz would take a more active role in rebalancing. The current paradigm for free realm xfers just doesn’t cut it. IMO, they should open up free transfers for Horde from *any *Horde-heavy realm to *any *Alliance-heavy realm and vice versa.

Well I set up Monday’s raid for Uld again, but the weekly is Naxx. Do we want to do Naxx instead? Go back to our roots.
