Aww, Headrush, that’s understandable but we’re sorry to lose you. Thank you for at least letting us know so we didn’t wonder what happened to you.
Bummer.
Well, good luck, Headrush.
On another note…who wants/needs to grind out some Ashen Verdict rep? Maybe it could be our backup plan if we don’t have enough for future Mondays and we can pug for it?
Yeti, I’m Revered but I still have a lot of room to get to Exalted, so I’d be up for it.
I don’t know what you’re talking about… Ah I see, ICC stuff. Never been in there.
I checked this morning and we’ve got 6 confirmed and 4 tentative. So if enough people show (there were some not on either list who have been around in the past - so fingers crossed) we’ll get Ony10 again, and maybe more.
Well, wifey is pretty sick today…so I will have to go to the meeting I spoke about last week and take care of the kids before they hit the sack. When I get that done, I’ll check up on you guys, but I’m thinking that’s not gonna happen until 9p PDT (11:00 realm), 8p PDT if things go off without a hitch. Sorry I can’t be there on time.
Well. No luck last night - I think we topped out at 7, one of whom was in recovery from being hacked; I bowed out. Hope y’all had some fun in a 5-man.
Oh, bloody hell. I have the worst time actually remembering Monday means raid.
Sounds like I wouldn’t have made up the difference in any case. Sorry guys.
We queued for a random (AK) and then ran Pit of Saron. It was good tanking practice for Kalathan and I think Jsor picked up some nice tanking gear for off-spec, so the good news is we’re developing a couple more tanks to go with our 23 healers.
Last night must have been a bad night for some folks but let’s keep trying.
Yes, it felt ‘better’ to try my tanking with guildmates, rather than with a random PUG. I also think all of us being on Vent helped with some of the trickier pulls.
Still, it went a lot smoother than I thought it would - Kene’s healing was terrific. Kalathan’s not really geared for tanking yet - other than 1H weapon and shield, everything else she’s got on is DPS gear - so I guess I need to think about accumulating more Triumph emblems and working on assembling a set of tanking gear.
I keep forgetting about this too - Darland (DK) is fully ready to tank anything up to ICC10, if he could just get an invite. Wouldn’t have worked last night (baseball game), but maybe in the future. I have a decent DPS off-spec and gear (good enough for up to ToC/Ony probably).
I know I’m not actually in the guild, but Jagaya played with a lot of y’all for quite awhile, and I’d be happy to help out.
Cool – we’ll get Bird to add you to the invite list.
Kala did fantastically tanking in my opinion. We only really had 2 deaths, iirc. One being me getting two-shotted way at the beginning of H:PoS due to my stupidity in accidentally tagging a mob with FF and the other when we went after one of those poison lobbers before ick and accidentally aggroed a second who bee-lined for Kene. It wasn’t the “fastest” run, but it was definitely the smoothest in PoS, including how the groups on the hill were handled (ahhh, CC, why can’t druids have something better than Entangling roots and hibernate for beasts–I was jealous of the repenting and shackling).
We also pulled off the achievement with Hadronox in H:AN and the surprise achieve of no one taking any falling ceiling damage in the run-up to scourgelord tyrannus.
Honestly, I’d sortof like to maybe get a guild random heroic night going (depending who all shows up, multiple groups even) where we intentionally go for the crazy achieves found in Glory of the Hero, or at least keep that as a fall-back for when raid night falls apart.
That’s a good idea; I still don’t have “Less-rabi.”
Have fun–and if you have any lowbie alts left in BDL (or you’d like to roll another one), drop by any time. There are a lot of us (me included) who are only there rarely, so it’s not like you’re going to get booted just 'cause you don’t sign on for a few weeks (months).
Running with friends and guildies is always the best, I agree. And Vent is incomparably helpful. Typing stuff out is so tedious–much easier when you can just explain things by talking. Not to mention, you can quickly draw attention to things like “move out of that fire” or “switch targets to this mob.”
Be prepared to either bring a lot of interrupters (Rogues, Shammies, Warriors, etc.) who’re good at coordinating, a lot of DPS, or both.
You bet, I’ll add you as a friend, then I can easily add you to the list.
As for our raid/Heroic run night, Runestar You were out dpsing Lightbird in ret-gear. I’ll bet if you put on a dps set it wouldn’t even be comparable. But it’s always nice to have tanks that can step in for the greater good. And now that I look at Lightbird’s pathetic prot-gear, I should have been rolling on that tank gear that dropped. Next time I will:D
Great monday night last night. Ony10 went down like butter (if the butter was cold, and you had to push down kinda hard). It seems like we are having a little trouble in phase2. Everyone seems to pull off Ony and takes the adds, but we’re not quick enough to down the adds and pile up on Ony before the next wave. So 60%-40% goes really slow.
Then a quick weekly naxx run with some PuGs from Reins/Jag’s new guild. Nice folks. Wouldn’t mind using them as fillers for our raids when we have room. But I doubt a bunch of ICC geared folks want to run with us unless they’re bored. (or dopers - thanks Reins/Jag
)
So next Monday is Memorial day, but I’ve got a sense that we are going to have a full group so I’ll plan on a raid and see what kind of response we get. Should I stick with Ony10? Are we getting some gear for us with one raid a week? Are we getting better? ToC awaits us somewhere in the future.
I wouldn’t mind doing Ony10 again, but I also think we’re ready to tackle ToC (although I wouldn’t expect immediate success).
Well, in this case 60 - 40 went slow because two of the ranged dps were lying on our backs for about half of phase 2 (Rahuul ran into a deep breath, and I’m not quite sure how I died but I think I got mugged by a bunch of whelps), so there were only a couple dps working on Ony.
Also, I’ll be out of the country & away from computers (except maybe for the odd internet cafe) next week, so yall have fun with whatever you end up doing.
Yeah, that was kind of sad. I died first by running away from Ony’s breath into a group of whelps that had just appeared. Shortly after, Rumpole (or Kene? One of the priests) died to something else. Rahuul rezzed me, I rezzed the priest, then Rahuul died to Ony’s breath shortly after. I think one of the DPS crashed in phase 3, and then I was not only the first, but the last to die. I’m not even sure how, it seemed like I ran under Ony and she just chomped down on me.
Given that we were 9-manning it, the deaths were a lot harder to work around than usual. But hey, we did it!
