The WoW "Burning Dog Legion" (Cairne/Horde) 10-man Raid List.

Did I somehow miss the battle rez message? Weird, if so.

Let the record show that Kene did not die! But I did come close at least once.

If we do Ony again, I’d like to suggest that for phases 1 and 3 we coordinate so all the DPS are on the same side of Ony. Last night, only one side or the other was in healing range so I had to decide who I liked better.

Yeah, it was a bit messy. Quite a bit of that’s on me - like I said I hadn’t tanked it before and wasn’t entirely clear how the whelp mechanic worked (one side vs. both, timing, etc). Got stuck on the opposite side of a deep breath as the whelps came out and ate somebody’s face. Didn’t help that my omen and threat bars were completely bugged, so even if I had aggro I couldn’t tell.

Anyway, no worries, and a one-shot is a good thing, even if it’s ugly. Fun running with y’all again and hopefully I’ll be around on Mondays to help out. I’ve tanked all of ToC10, so if we want to go there I’m game.

Ahh. Now I know what happened, at least. At least partially my fault, as I really should have had dispersion off cooldown.

Now that you’ve got a semi-regular group going, you might want to have at least one person running a mod called Acheron. It will give you a death report for everyone in the raid–by right-clicking on their portrait and selecting their report or by opening the tool and selecting their name, you’ll be able to see all the incoming damage and heals in the last 10-15 seconds prior to their death. Very useful for figuring out what, exactly, went wrong so you can make sure it doesn’t happen again.

Did you run past her front? Ony has standard dragon mechanics: tail swipe in the back and cleave in the front. I think she’s got some conal AOE up front, too.

During the air phase, it’s really helpful for the tanks if you can get everyone who’s not on the big tunnel adds stacked in the middle. You can try putting a mark on one of the healers and then having everyone stand on that player. (Putting a mark on the tank doesn’t work as well, since you might have to run around a bit to pick everything up.)

I ran underneath her belly from one side toward the other (I can’t remember whether it was voluntary, but it may have been a fear effect), but given the nature of game objects and facing, it could very well have been construed by the game to be in front.

Hrm, odd. If you were underneath, you shouldn’t have gotten caught by anything, assuming you mean under her belly and not under her chin. Anything around the front paws or further back should be safe.

Actually, Boss, it went something like this… I, tanking Onyx, get feared (Berserker Rage on cooldown, no fear ward, no tremor totem) ran through Ony, Ony turns around and Cleaves/Breathes on Nah.

At least I remember hearing a tree die moments after she turned around so while you were running from one side to the other under Ony I think she caught you while she was turning around.

That makes sense. I remember seeing her turn, as if she was ignoring the steak in front of her for a second in order to take a bite of celery.

I should be there next week; hopefully to be of help and not a hindrance. I still have not had the chance to take Onyxia yet due to the last 3 Mondays being a no-show.

Well, since only one person at a time gets to take her head, there will still be some advantage to us all from continuing to beat up on her for a good long while.

:smack:
My bad. It didn’t even cross my mind.

Puh-leeze, your dps is pretty stellar for our group. (ok - me)

Bad Kene! Bad bad!
Do we all get one of those? I was able to use my undead racial ability twice on that fight (while feared about 10 times)

It’s too bad we didn’t have a shaman for that run, 2 shaman helms dropped in there. I guess we’d need 2 shamans to make use of those. Do you think Blizz cares to make drops a little more ‘smart’?

Well Fear Ward can only be cast on one person, lasts 3 minutes (or until used) and has a three minute cooldown. But between Rumpole and me we could have kept the tank warded at least part of the time. Too bad everyone can’t have Will of the Forsaken; I love that ability!

Will of the Forsaken’s on a pretty long CD, too (two minutes?). But IIRC, **Shin **was playing on a Prot Warrior, and we have a get-out-of-fear-free card once every 30 seconds with Berserker Rage. It was just bad timing that it was on CD. (Ony fears so often, though, that even with a Warrior tanking, you want to double up as much as possible with wards and totems.)

This coming Monday is up in the air for me. It’s my friend’s birthday, but I’m not sure whether I’m going to go visit him or not since I have another trip after that. Even if I do go it’s possible I’ll have my laptop and be in a hotel by that time, but no guarantees on anything. Sorry guys, hope you get a full group if I don’t show.

Good news: No meetings tonight!

Bad/Worse News: I am currently posting this in Safe Mode…I have no sound, no internet, no WoW on Normal Mode…I’ve blown 10 hours trying to fix whatever the hell happened last Thursday, but to no avail. Was in Vegas Friday and Saturday, hoping to fix it on Sunday or today. Not totally computer savvy, I now realize that I need a pro to set things straight, and being a holiday today, no way to find someone open to do such a thing. Kinda pissed off at the whole situation, ATM.

Again, my apologies.

Sending this from my iPhone. I’m away from my comp. (and a little drunk) About 80% sure I won’t make it back in time. :frowning:

It sounds like a perfect storm. Sometime between 3:00 pm and 9:00 pm, my modem gave up the ghost, so I missed out too. I’ll get a new one today.

Yeah, we only had three 80s on IIRC at 9:00 server time; myself (Kalathan), Jsor and Ruhmuu IIRC. After waiting a few minutes, it was clear we weren’t going to get any late adds (not very surprising to me, since it was a holiday and all), so we went our separate ways.
